This is one of the most unique videos i've seen in a while. I think you found a brand new brilliant format. Podcast Poker. Super fun to watch.
not really
its not the first podcast with this format. and some of the previous ones are already quite popular. great format though everyone will agree with you there
wow. doing your thing and talking about it at the same time, someone should write this down
"I played chess against...Pokémon!" - Daniel Negreanu
Technically her name is supposed to be pronounced like that so he's got the right spirit lol
Always remember anything you do at the chess table conveys information
True, you can't be all loosey-goosey eating a sandwich
@@guilhermesoares7857comedians
literally, everything you can do is to make a move 😂
So you can deliver false information.
@@guilhermesoares7857 ...being on the phone...
"You looked at the flop, and your eyes quickly glanced at your chips so I knew you hit it" 🤯
She also immediately looked right at him, which was the most confident she'd seemed to that point by a mile
Yes, she checked the flop and instantly look at Daniel 😂😂
@@lrt8735 You know ever since he said that I started trying to fake look at my chips when I want them to check. Nobody cared :D
common knowledge since Mike Caro's book from 1984. Do you even read bro
@@busfahrer09 what are this "read"?
Daniel is actually a great interviewer and holds conversation so well. Refreshing poker video
I don't even know when and how that hour passed. It was just pure joy to watch you both. I like that the stack sizes weren't even shown, so that we're not focusing on the wrong thing here.
Really like the format, and it's actually very informative/tutorial - thanks, great video! ♥
Botez's smooth and quick check at 7:32 definitely gave away information she had two pair lol, plus her confident smile! Entertaining and engaging video, congratulations to both!
I think the problem was she was looking at her chips while checking. Daniel made a video about this, when people look at their stack after a flop is because they loved the cards
@@andreafonso3542 yup she might as well have been lickin her chops staring at that stack. You can see the gears turning lmao.
This was a great format podcast. Loved it! Thanks for teaching the audience a thing or two.
This is a great format and would love to see you continue it with other up and coming players, e.g. Lonis, Becker, Rampage, etc.
The difference between Negreanu and Helmuth with new players is insane.
2 of my favorites! Great video with incredibly useful info. Thank you very much!
This is my favorite so far. I live hearing the comments, thoughts, strategies, etc. so much better than watching a live stream which I also love! I don’t want highlights
What a nice video. I love these educational videos, please do more of these. Like for beginners. I just started and don’t really know what cards to play
D-Negs is so personable!! I love to watch him whether it’s high stakes stream or just chatting. He is really entertaining and so genuine. Also agree with others that this podcast/poker/tutorial is excellent! I’ll be looking for the others and more to come!
Great video! More like this, please.
Fun watch!!! Great Q&A
Such a great banter. Alex is the kind of person I'd like to see as new gen poker player. A LOT of learning ahead though. Daniel, as always, funny and authentic.
I’d trust in her ability to learn the game, chess players are next level smart
What a delightful conversation. I follow both. I learned a few things I didn't already know about both of them.
Love both of these! Very entertaining video!
not really
Watching two of my favorite people in the world discussing two of my favorite pastimes, there's just too much to like! Now we need to watch them again, but playing chess!!!
*Daniel was too embarrassed to release the chess footage* 😂
@@ohiorushbaby Lol. I'm sure she destroyed him. Just like he could destroy her in cards.
I've watched these two - to see them together? Such a fun stream to watch!
I want to see a rematch with chess!

This was a great watch. More of this please.
do more of these. good stuff
This format is amazing!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this entire video as a played online poker. Great conversation.
Ive been watching daniel for years and got into botez thru chess streams and i absolitely adored this content
I learned a ton from the video. Thanks
Don’t really play chess or poker, but this conversation was extremely enjoyable and informative😎
Great video very interesting conversations as well, two amazing people
Congrats on becoming a GG Ambassador Ms Botez . You're a lucky human . Hopefully i see you on GG in a tourney or at cash tables or maybe some PLO. Cool Vid Daniel ! Some great info. Ty and Cheers
Bro giving her the masterclass promo video with the chip glance tell
Two of my fave content creators
Love this content
That was a fun watch. Have enjoyed watching you play poker for 25 years and watching Alex also. The both of you playing heads up was a good time. Thanks to the both of you and be well.
It s so exciting to see 2 romanians making content!
I love this collab 😭😭
Best negreanu video of the year.
I love the poker/chess crossovers. Very cool
What a great vid!
Great Content Daniel
Should’ve released the chess footage! Loved the poker btw.
This was awesome!
Great video! I'm also a fan of Botez....so you have to show the vid on the chess game...😊
We need to see the chess game footage!!!!!
I'm here for this
nice vid man
Love them both. They're both so awesome.
I have been a Dnegs fan forever and will never quit being a fan. Is he on the Spectrum? If so, that explains his greatness..
More likely Botez is.
I love how any time someone is great at something they have to be autistic lmao like you can’t be great without people trying to find something wrong also
I love how any time someone is great at something they have to be autistic lmao like you can’t be great without people trying to find something wrong also
Nah. He may have a tick with the blinking thing he does but his social skills are too great to be on the spectrum
He's stated before that he has Tourettes. It comes out in his arms, shoulders and eyes. If I recall he said the blinking thing was the last tick that he can't really break. Is it a tell? who knows lol, but I reckon it's something.
I love getting heads up in a tournament. I played Russians' heads up a lot. It's where I excel.
He folds KQ because first, the opponent tells him i have a strong hand because the option of 3 betting is mostly a strong range, Then on the flop suddenly a speed check with killer eyes.
That was very entertaining, I wouldn't mind more of it.
Alex is such a good interviewer!
Such an outstanding conversation.
not really
Probably not gonna be seen, but in case you do: what I appreciate about dnegs is that he stays true. Money and moderate fame doesn't change him or his vpersona. Soldier with a soul
Great video
this is awesome
4:45, Pokimon is the correct way to say it, since her name is Imane, which is pronouced "Imon/Iman"
wow a first date!
Chess player and poker player here. This video was double prizes! 😁
Not sure about Alexandra's live tell, but I picked up on Daniel's headscratch as he says "I have a lot of faith and trust in the team at GG" at 23:19 🤣
and here I was waiting to see the chess game the table turning sides
What a gem Botez is
He is loved by the cards
18:30 Interesting how he calls out all the possibilities, except the one that he has himself 😄
Me re like this please. Such a good vibe
Doi romani ajunsi mari, felicitari!
I am Romanian, I love you both!
Hops on 5 live streams and gets a GG patch. 🤔 😂 GG boy’s calculating those future implied odds.
Two of my favorite celebreties 🎉
I've watched Daniel for maybe a decade now... 10:59 Is one the the most accidently funny and brutally honest things I have ever heard from him; not that he isn't always honest. However, he is almost always a humble and nice guy until provoked. So, to hear him actually say, "This idiot just costed me big time and he has no shot.", was quite a pleasant surprise for me.
She made her shoulders parallel, literally posturing.
The live tell Daniel told us to comment about: She looks at the flop and the smile slowly fades off her face to reveal a more stoic nature. She then glances down, but I can’t really tell if it’s a chip glance or not, def could be. I play with a guy who’s always super talkative and laid back at the table but every time he has a big hand he shuts up and sits up in his chair, this reminded me of that tell.
Whoa, I never expected Alex on here.
I still think about all the High Stakes Poker bad beats that Daniel went through and I didnt even lose any money!
I feel like this was supposed to be out sooner.
Gabe Kaplan is how you grow the poker audience.
@50;16.... The right answer is.... nobody is affected negatively and many are affected positively so go for it.
It was the way she stopped smiling and then she started grinning and stared right at him like she was confident but trying to hide it
I think the tell was how fast she put the chips out there. Didn’t even think about it.
I disagree with Dnegs on a lot but I respect the hell out of this mans poker game and his success!
Is GG sponsoring Botez? sounds good for the content either way
When chess rematch?
Running hot helps....nice hands Daniel
LETS GOO
I'm sure there's some sort of tell on those extra blinky eyes of Daniel.
I would have loved to see a match against you too as well💪🏼💪🏼 "chess
1. she was thinking about 3betting: potential Ace. 2. she checked, and looked at you with a smile (confidence): check-raising vibe
7:32, she looks down at her chips when the flop comes, was thinking of betting for a split second and checked super fast. Didn't actually even need that read though, he established preflop she was strong, and when the A hit and she immediately checked, didn't have to think what to do like she would have as a new player if she had a pair that was lower than the A. Easy hand to get away from for DNegs.
I bet, this video gets a lot of views. This format should be explored.
Notes is stunningly beautiful. That smile is devastating.
4:50 I love how Alex has to jump in and "correct" Daniel with the incorrect pronunciation of Poki's name lmfao
Her tell, anticipation for Daniel to raise, my guess
at 20:15 just a tad before that daniel told her what he had... notice how daniel mentioned every possible card that beats her other than the one he had... J, 9, and others but never mentioned the 4 :P thats the key to this hand
cool video
I think she will progress quickly. She seems pretty damn sharp.
Interesting video, especially because Daniel is much better at poker than Alex is at chess. Don’t get me wrong-she’s definitely better than almost everyone who watches this video-but, if you factor in money list, WSOP bracelets, and cash wins, Daniel is certainly top 20, probably top 10 poker players of ALL TIME. Alex would need to be a 2700 at chess to represent that level of skill. Good poker to Alex and her future and Daniel, when are you doing another pogchamps?
Romanian game… i love it👏👏👏
I got a top 1% award from the biggest chess site in the world last year. But I lose in poker when I'm 98% favorite to win.
Chess and poker both take skill to win…Although you can’t win a chess game if the other person is really skilled and or experienced on just luck. That being said though…I’d still rather be lucky than good…🍻
