  • Had a freaky thing happen to me today. I was sitting on a beach on the east coast of England, and me and my family spotted some big clouds out to sea and what looked like rain coming from them. We initially thought they were travelling a different way and not towards us, but then I started noticing the cloud getting bigger, as if it was getting closer, which it turned out it was. We also noticed some thunder and lightning coming from the clouds. Now instead of being smart and leaving before the rain hits, we decided to stay and watch the storm roll in. As it got closer, the smell of the sea got much more powerful. Suddenly, A huge wind picked up heading directly inshore, and as it went it picked up loads of sand from the beach and started pelting it against everyone on the beach to the point where it actually hurt. Needless to say we and most over occupants of the beach got out of there in a hurry.

  • lol I love how the one dude is just laughing hysterically with his kids about a dude being pummeled by waves. I've been in that VERY situation, I got flipped multiple times in the wave and slammed on the beach. My back was bleeding in several areas from scraping against rocks and shells.

Most of the times, tourists don’t take precautions at the beach because the simply don’t know how bad it can actually be and the force of the waves. He probably things that guy is fine.

  • As someone who lives in Britain, our weather is pretty morbid, however this type of weather is unheard of! We don't usually get snow, and we don't get hurricanes, I haven't heard of a tsunami appearing around here either. Never have we had an earthquake I think, but wemay havelittle ones that we can't feel. It's very shocking to see that people live with this weather!

    • I assure you, we absolutely do have earthquakes in the UK - they're just few and far between, and you might not recognise them as an earthquake. My first was just a loud bang (we thought a wall had fallen or a boiler exploded) no noticeable shaking, and my second was highly surreal because it woke me up and I wasn't sure what was dream and what was reality (I vividly remembered everything shaking...but things I would've expected to fall over, like bottles in the bathroom, hadn't).
