One would think someone so concerned with the environment would know the impact a project like this has on it
Yes they obviously got paid by the Dubai government to promote this sh*t project as a success. I guess yes theory says "yes" to massive hypocrisy and selling out
I have so many questions though. Ecological and economic concerns. Did the construction of the islands drive away marine life? Where did the brought-in sand come from and what methods did they use to make sure that the original place of the sand didn’t suffer any ecological disaster? Have they lost any money due to the slow buying process of the islands? etc. etc.
No to be a downer but to answer your questions: "Did the construction of the islands drive away marine life?" Yes "Where did the brought-in sand come from" The bottom of the ocean, destroying numerous marine habitats in the process. "what methods did they use to make sure that the original place of the sand didn’t suffer any ecological disaster?" Essentially none as far as I can tell.
They dredge the sand to create the island. Aka they take it from the sea floor and essentially pile it up into an island. The ship at 3:22 is doing this. It’s definitely bad for marine life

The building of these islands has a big impact on marine life. The sand is taken from ocean floor, wich gets destroyed in the process, losing countless coral reefs and marine flora. All for what? Its not only unnecesary but really harmful for the environment In my opinion there should be more critical thinking on this kind of stuff (especially if you talk about being mindfull about the environment).

You can typically intuitively (and visually) detect how a person feels about his/herself. With the money and assets that chairman has, it's highly probably he knows he is very powerful. Therefore he gives off that vibe. Just like an extremely insecure person who doesn't love themselves would give off a weaker, depressed vibe. You can always tell if you listen to your gut around people and observe their mannerisms

The problem is that more often than not that pisses people off. Chances are he wouldn't have been invited to that island simply because of the negative vibes that angle would bring to those he talks to in Dubai.

I was doing my benchmark for reading and one of the articles was about this and I became very interested.
It would have been cool to see you explore the environmental impacts of these islands. You literally started the video talking about how you are seeking to improve your merch by being more environmentally aware. Why not talk about the environmental impacts the construction of these islands on marine life?

@@shama6394 The point is they are still taking steps. It’s like me using more energy efficient light bulbs but driving a diesel truck, you’re still taking steps to help somewhat.
"Organic" uses more water and pesticides that are much more toxic than non-organic pesticides. All that to produce less product. Organic is terrible for the earth.

The islands being eco friendly is actually brilliant
Sadly, they’re actually very damaging to the environment. The neighbouring Palm Islands (made by the same developers) were heavily criticised by Greenpeace. Their construction destroyed marine habitats and caused coastal erosion, and the breakwaters created huge sediment build-ups which buried coral reefs as it settled.

He was doing an ad for visit Dubai as he mentioned, they did all the work.
It's more that they have 'influence' than connections. They offered him to stay because this channel gets millions of views and it will keep people interested in his islands that have potential to possibly lose him a lot of money.
