4K CABVIEW: Freezing cold morning with pink winter sunrise
It's been freezing cold with temperatures below -20°C/-4°f for weeks.
The pink winter sunrise this freezing morning was especially beautiful. How to keep warm in conditions like this? Make sure you have a three layers clothes and walk around looking like the Michelin mascot.
A continuation from the last video. We've switched en in Bergen and getting ready to take this Stadler FLIRT (class75-2) from Bergen to Myrdal, Norway.
I've named every single tunnel and snowshed in this video with length.

hy , the landscape and the video quality are mind blowing , it is simply superb , very relaxing and enjoyable ride , thank you for sharing with us , i'm blown away by the quality and the info is so well inserted in the video , it is just a different level , thank you again and keep up this amaizing work .
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for posting these great trips. As a model railroader, the scenery is instructive--even the tunnels. As an old man trying to stay fit in the winter, I put the screen in front of my exercise bike and ride several miles a day--very inspiring!
everyone, this is a therapy. a rare kind of neurotherapy. the only thing that keeps me crying is not my personal problems anymore, but knowing i'll never get a chance to see it with my naked eyes, this is why it makes me cry with suffering. and video, info and all the other stuff incredibly put together. such a beautiful country.
Thank you for watching and for your comment! I'm glad you enjoy the video.
Hey it’s that crazy bike riding guy from London , just finished cycling this route with you. Great quality video again and beautiful vistas . Hey I’m loving this exercise regime !!
You rock!
...and yet again, you leave me speechless. The whole sequence from 24:30 to 27:00 is out of this world, _more_ fairytale than a model railroad... I know how tricky it can be to catch such light with a (still) camera, and I see you did a lot of edit work constantly re-setting the brightness. Just superb!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey RCG, this cabride is amazing. the pink colours are very beautiful, before and after Vaksdal. Also, the snow and the "ice curtains"on the rock walls are very nice to see. Thank you for putting info on stations and tunnels into this one. Really helpful. Take care.
Thank you, glad you liked it :)
My new favourite RailCowGirl 😍 the colours of the ice, water, and sky are magnificent!!
The pink sunrise over the Fjords is stunningly beautiful.
One of the my favourite parts of the line :D
Thank you for the upload, RailCowGirl ❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
we enjoyed this presentation of the pink winter morning rail journey . takk skal du ha .
Glad you enjoyed it, tusen takk!
RailCowGirl you put a lot of effort into these videos and it really shows!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful videos, thank you for posting! Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. 👋
@RailCowGirl - Your videos are getting me through Lockdown here in Scotland. Thank you for saving the little bit of sanity I have left. jeg vil gå hjem.
Thanks, glad to hear you enjoy the videos!
All your videos are always stunningly beautiful ❤️❤️😃
Thank you so much!!
I grew up in the Icy Russian wastelands, now I live in New Zealands semi tropical temparate climate and I do not miss the snow and ice, winter here in the north island is usually double digits above freezing and maybe single digits above 8 degrees never lower on a cold Kiwi day lol never 20 below here great channel
I have followed this specific itinerary in spring and winter. This one was indeed unique and freezingly calming. Thanks for sharing, great work.
Glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️
Ah, the morning coffee run to Myrdal. I Iook forward to the beauty of the increasingly familiar ride. This is the first time I noticed just how close the houses above the Bergen tunnel entrance are to the "hole". I wonder if those houses got a bit rattled when the bore came through. They must have felt it under there. The pink sunrise reflecting on the water - gorgeous!
Mhm, some mornings are so awesome :D The different light throughout the year :D
hey rcg, this looks like a wes anderson film! its so beautiful to watch. i usually get super stressed studying for exams, so watching these videos while studying helps me calm down. keep doing what youre doing!
The noise of the yard is so nice.
Glad you liked it :D ❤️
Как красиво!Чисто!
Thank you!
Nice ..going to enjoy this tonight when i stop for the night...
Rock on! ❤️❤️
@@RailCowGirl As allways
Amazing to see this in Australia . Last few months here + 30c or more even at night .☀️👍 Thank you , so beautiful .
You have summer, we have winter :D Everything is backwards :p LOL :D ❤️
This is heaven! Wow!
Those reflective Cowheaded people are a hoot. Thanks so much for your most entertaining videos. You might be surprised at how many miles I've ridden along with you. Thanks again, from South Texas.
Glad you like them! Thanks!
Wow - on the approach to Dale, just before the track splits - the mountains ahead look like a complex pen and ink drawing. Just stunning!
Glad you enjoyed it
Огромное спасибо тебе. Это не передаваемые чувства путешествия
Thank you!
Beautiful ride, this one. The lighting is perfect for the snow, not too bright, and all the lovely details of this journey are perfectly captured by the camera. The tunnel information is also very welcome. This is probably RailCowGirl's best daytime ride so far.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I look forward to my travels with RCG, New video 'Yay!'
Yay! Thank you!❤️
British diplomat R. H. Bruce Lockhart in 1918 ~ p195 All that remains in my mind is the memory of the railway journey from Christiania to Bergen. (sic) The scenery, wilder, more picturesque than the Canadian Rockies, provided the proper background for my own melancholy. The wild stretches of moor, the lofty peaks and tortuous ravines, the lochs and turbulent trout-streams, above all, the firs and the birches, their leaves golden with the first tints of autumn, reminded me of Scotland. At Bergen I met Wardrop, who was to take my place in Moscow. ... ~ p212- The next morning we made the railway trip-the most wonderful in the world-from Bergen to Christiania. It was not to my mind so impressive in winter as in the autumn.
Before I pass my ambition is travel Norway 🇳🇴 by train in the winter. Magical.
Dear RCG! Not only another stunning video with more improvements, but this time I was able to read the intro without pausing or rewinding, and had 3 seconds to spare! Great job! Thanks a million!
Yay, thanks, happy to hear that! :D
"I've named every single tunnel and snowshed in this video with length." And I'm kinda amazed that every tunnel and snowshed HAS a name. Some of the bigger ones, such al Ulriken, Ok, but every little bitty one? I was thinking along the lines of "Tunnel Bergenbannen 37-B" or some such.
Yeah, I thought so too, like "snow shed at Gravhalsen west side"... but it has a name. ;)
Bergensbanen (Bergen's bahn, i.e. Bergen line).
Probably so the Maintenance crews know exactly where to go when needed.
Yay, a new video! Even though it's a familiar route by now, each video has its own weather, ambient light, and seasonal changes--always an adventure! Thank you also for identifying all the tunnels and speed limits and so on. I keep looking for where the "old" roadbed went before all the tunnels were built, too. Did old steam trains run this route too?
Old steam trains ran on parts of this line, yes :D Marked out many of the historic parts here :D kzhead.info/sun/npSuYrRlhZN3Zp8/bejne.html
Healing is wonderful.
Thanks for watching!
Nok en fantastisk tur fra Bergensbanen
Tusen takk! Hyggelig å høre!
That pink light on the wintry water is so beautiful!
Yes, one of the reasons I love working on this line :D
What a spectacular sunrise, the pink in the sky and on the water; probably much better in person!! Do you ever want to open it up to 160 km/h in that new tunnel? Maybe you do, i just can't tell. Would probably put you ahead of schedule for the next stop but you could delay your departure there until you're back on schedule. What a terrific way to see Norway, something i wish i could do in person. This is the next best thing. Thank you so much for taking us along for the journey.
We do run at 160kmh in that tunnel :)
Beautiful.
Thank you!
The sky is beautiful. Thanks for sharing this.
Glad you like it, thanks for watching!
oh, 2 train drivers from europe meet eachother, neat
What an incredible railway line, a fantastic piece of engineering.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful skies and the grandeur of the mountains is just breathtaking; thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I love the feeling of the cold air in the winter morning. And the beautiful scenery. Thank you very much!
Cold winter mornings are totally ok :D Cold and wet winter mornings, not so fun :p
As always, stunning scenery, enhanced by the low-angle sunlight - mostly from behind, and the absence of the haze that can develop later in the day.
Glad you liked it ❤️❤️
With every passing video that you do gets more and more pleasing to watch. Especially listing the tunnel names as you pass through them. This for me was a very unique ride. A ride with RailCowGirl as my tour guide. Thanks RCG this made my day brighter.
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Very beautiful 😊
Thanks a lot 😊
Fantastic freezing Ride! Greetings from sunny Portugal!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How I have missed your videos😍

Im probably, most likely gonna play this whenever im studying or drawing. Just thank you. I really love your channel
Thank you so much and welcome!!
From Louisiana too, a week of cold is enough for me, but Norway is sure beautiful. Would love to visit this cold country. Live the videos. Thanks 😊
You should! :D❤️
@@RailCowGirl I might someday, long way from Louisiana to Norway 😊
@@joeannperschall7226 But not as far as from California.
@@knife-wieldingspidergod5059 I checked mileage somethingblike 4,900 miles from Louisiana, 11 hour flight. A long way for these old bones. It would be a wonderful trip though
This leisurely stroll up to Myrdal is perfect for taking in the stunning colours and scenery. Mesmerising. Perhaps a strange observation on my part, but the VY livery blends in very well in these conditions! One of my absolute favourite RCG videos. Thank you!
Happy to hear that, thank you 😃❤️
What a beautiful ride through Norway. Beautiful pink sunrise, Majestic snow- capped mountains. Just recently subscribed and I love it.Keep up the good work👍! God bless✝️❤️
❤️❤️❤️
Omg this is SO gorgeous! 💖💜💙🤍
Thank you, happy you like it :)
Breathtaking as usual. Thank you
Thank you too! ❤️
The visual is mesmerizing and the audio is nice... and then you stabbed me in the ear with the horn!
The other day I backed up and watched some of your early movies and i have to say that the quality and presentation of your more recent and present movies is so much more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work.
Thank you :D Always trying to improve :D
yup! she just keeps getting better and better! :-)
What a beautiful country
It is, thanks for watching!
Thank you, RCG, for sharing your experience with us! I love it when you display a commentary to add to the ride. And I don't know how often you do, but I recall the time you got off the train and actually walked the tunnel you were in. It is like you take us on an adventure! Your steed may not be a horse, but you are a Cow Girl who rides the Rails. :)
Glad you enjoyed it! :D It was when i did the "secret room in the Finse tunnel" :D there are indeed so many awesome places around :D
@@RailCowGirl I just found your Q & A where you chatted with your viewers. I am still watching it, at the moment. I would have had my own questions to ask. Maybe next time. :)
I love the little white house on the left that you see looking over the track starting at 1:20. I would like to live there and I would wave good morning to you in the train everyday when you passed by :-)
That would be cool! I thin there house next to it is for sale :D
If you go sightseeing in Norway, it will be a comfortable trip that you want to take the Bergen train. from Japan
Thanks for you sharing. Good job my friend. ☺️
Thanks for visiting
A wonderful video as always. It’s all there: beautiful scenery, excellent photography and the best train driver ever! Thanks so much for another exciting journey!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
I love your amazement that every nook and cranny would have a name. Thank you for telling us what they are.
Yeah, I was looking through the list and I was like, seriously? Every single thing? WOW!.
Your videos are awesome! Thank you for sharing Norway in this fabulous way. My family emigrated from Norway back in 1856 settling in Minnesota from the Hallingdal region. On those routes you travel near Torpo I try to imagine the landscape as it was once seen thru my ancestor's eyes. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing! Glad you enjoyed the video!
This probably the closest I'll ever get to Norway 🥰♥️🙏 Thank you!!!!🇺🇲
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Very nice cabview!! Warm greetings from Brazil

Wow! You're really amazing. Thank you
Thank you too! ❤️
Well after getting in from Voss and shutting down that cab then heading the other end to get that cab set up for your run east, do hope you have a chance in the insuing hour to get into the station for a shot break before departure. As always, thank you so much for these videos of Norway. Really enjoyed the nice, leisurely run east from Voss as you paced yourself so you would not pass any request stop too soon. So it looks like your day when you filmed this was Voss - Bergen, Bergen - Myrdal then ended with Myrdal - Voss which would put you close to your hours of service.
Yes :) Had almost a good hour. Usually this train should be running double set. In that case I would have to go out into the yard in Bergen to get the other train set and couple them. Then it's hardly even time to go to the bathroom before you're heading off again.
Super!
AMAZING.
Thank you!!
Thank you for the good surprise video.
Glad you liked it ❤️
🚴🌻 Surprise For Samuel 🚴🌻 !
So many tunnels. Must of took years to build. Incredible feat of engineering. Very Very Impressive.
Glad you like the video!
We just discovered your channel with this video. We’re on the couch watching this and can’t look away. So awesome. I had no idea I needed this in my life. Thank you for being the one to introduce it to me. One thing I wonder is how do you decide when to blow the horn?
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much. Look for the yellow diamond shaped signs. With a horizontal line = level crossing. A vertical line = station or halt. Both = well, both.
Thanks for posting these videos! To be honest, I'm kinda jealous of all the great views you get to see while doing your job, it definitely makes me want to come visit Norway one day
Glad you like them! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Prekrásne natočené video 😃😃😃😃. Perfektné super 😃😃😃. Srdečne pozdravujem zo Slovenska 😃😃😃😃.
The kind of Tranquil Beauty that reminds me God is still in charge. Cheers
Thanks for watching.
I just love the winter rides. I wish I had a chair that would rock like the train lol lol
Invent one, lol! Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Great cabview!! Like!
Thank you! Cheers! ❤️❤️
My area, like Houston, TX, USA had snow last week prior to Valentine’s Day. And yes, it was freezing as well.
We saw it on the news, totally crazy. How are you guys doing now? Power and everything was suffering badly :(
True. The power was off, until it came back on. They’re fixing the water pipes at our house after what happened to the freezing weather. By the way, we are doing very well. The weather was back to normal.
Merci beaucoup pour ces superbes vidéos 😊😊
Thank you! :D
Hello! Very nice movie, thank you, Railcowgirl
Thank you very much!
Absolutely relaxing. I try to follow along with Google Maps to learn more about Norway. Love to watch while enjoying a good coffee or tea! 😃 I so wish we had passenger train service in Idaho - just to enjoy a ride.
Glad you enjoyed it! Enjoy your coffee or tea :)
A very pretty run, and an excellent video. Having the names of the the tunnels and snow sheds is fun. I just wish I could hear the auto-announcer a bit better saying the names of the stations so I could understand how to pronounce them.
Thanks 👍❤️
Wow... good jab..
Thank you!
The new tunnel is soon coool!
Pretty awesome tunnel, yes :D
