I know, I am quite new to this channel as I subscribed around the time of the beginning of russian invasion. That might be why I'm not much used to the voiceover, which as I skimmed through the earlier videos, you use quite often in the travel-adventure stories. I know little about how your audience reacts to videos where you use your real voice, but if it was for me, I would love to be able to watch them without the voiceover. Your english is very good and the accent only adds authenticity to your story.

The original videos were in Russian. It makes sense since Anton's largest audience before the war broke out was Russian-speaking (not only people from Ukraine or Russia, as a former host of the super popular Ukrainian travel show Heads or Tails he is quite famous all over the Russian-speaking world). His Russian channel still has more subscribers (5.59 million) than his English channel (463K). That is despite many Russian people probably unsubscribing from his channel after he tried talking about the war. Since the originals were in Russian, he obviously has to make voice-overs or go the subtitles route (which aren't particularly popular with Russian speakers, for cultural reasons which have to do with USSR policies). Though it is possible to use his own voice for the voiceover, I guess he felt shy and preferred paying for a professional. Just my thoughts on the matter as a long-time fan. I really miss Heads or Tails :(

Actually, spitzbergen/spitsbergen is just the name of the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago. Svalbard was discovered by vikings sailing from Norway. There was most likely no big scale effort to inhabit the archipelago though, like what the Norwegian vikings did with Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Shetland and Orkney Islands, amongst more. When we have weather forecast over Svalbard here in Norway, it is often refered to as ''Spitsbergen'', when talking about the ''main island'' in the Svalbard archipelago.

And here you are again - with a time-capsule from better days, Svalbard last early spring. This time I have made sure I am subscribed. And I will watch the reporting you have done from your homeland. Know that everyone feels we have gotten a lot of new "neighbour-nations" of late. Especially Ukraine. We used to only have Sweden, Finland and Russia to the east. But now, somehow our "neighbouring" family has increased to a suit of nations sharing a boarder with a specific nation that lost sanity in their leadership and threw the European heartland into the insanity of war. I can not wait to see you roam our beautiful planet and share it again soon.

I know little about how your audience reacts to videos where you use your real voice, but if it was for me, I would love to be able to watch them without the voiceover. Your english is very good and the accent only adds authenticity to your story.
Okay, I read other comments. The audience has spoken ;)
I second that.
I agree I actually really prefer your true voice Anton! You’re English is great and easily understandable
I really miss Heads or Tails :(
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The major advantage of living in Svalbard is not needing a summer outfit, it really cuts the wardrobe space requirements in half!
Sounds wonderful to me 🤍
Same for living in the tropics. Except we don’t have any puffy, insulated clothing items, which makes it even easier to find space. 😅
@@samanthawhang7498 Tropics 1, Arctic 0. :)
@@halbrakt3457 But the food doesn’t last in the tropics. You pretty much have to put even your cereal and bread in the refrigerator if you want them to stay fresh. So we’re even. 😅
@@samanthawhang7498 And in northern countries beer and other alcoholic bevrages are stores outside not in a freezer, score: 1 tropics and 2 for arctic.
Do remember those old warm days when I eagerly waited new episodes of Antony's journey... Even today in war time - those old videos make my life a little bit easier and give me breath of fresh air when I watch them again .in ten or even twenty times ...

Thank you Anton for doing more videos about Norway. Hope that you can travel to Finland after all the dusts settle
Мне больше импонировало когда Антон сам на инглише говорил, но снято с особым ивкусом как всегда
Man I love your videos. I was locked up when I had covid and wanted to experience outside world so I watched your videos while eating. Ngl I remember watching your videos while eating as a very good memory and used to love your voice. I started watching your videos after months and seeing this voice over is sad for me because I love your videos the way they were. Please release two videos, 1 with voice over and 1 original.
One word to describe this video, beautiful. Thank you for giving me a glimpse of this beauty.
Excited that the adventure uploads are back! Hope you are staying safe Anton.
Everyone talks about your voiceovers and has an opinion. Heck on them. I don't care what you do about your narration because your videos are SO FREAKING AWESOME!!! Not a single place you've been to is, or ever was on my list. And yet I can hardly wait to see your next video: I'm actually impatient for them. All your techniques are super high level, and the writing... but YOU are so engaging and interesting. It's a real joy to spend time with someone who's excited about something and can make ME excited about it. You're a great talent. And terrifically skilled. Thank you!
I find your expeditions really interesting to watch and listen to. Sorry you were interrupted by the war in your country Ukraine, I commend your efforts in covering what's been happening and trying to help out with the situation. All in all, I'm glad you're back at this. I can't wait to see more of this. ✌🏿
Glad to see you back traveling Anton! Hope you and mom are doing ok
Bro... Anton. Let me tell you... In all of KZhead and all my subscriptions, I don't enjoy anyone's content as much as yours, except when Joe Rogan has an educated guest on talking about the probability of the existence of aliens. If there was only 1 KZhead channel left, and it was yours, I would be more than content. I LOVE your content. The cinematography, the music, and how in depth you go into every aspect of every place you travel. Always and forever so interesting, with each piece so well thought out, put together, and delivered. I have said before and I'll say again, if you're ever in NYC, I'd gladly meet you for a drink or 5. You'd be well taken care of in my city, I assure you. On another note, I hope you and your Mom are well in light of all that is continuing to happen in Ukraine. You guys are always in my prayers. Thank you as always. -TMINUS NYC

What a well put together production, and the drone work was outstanding! Keep up the great work 👍
Hey Anton! Congratulations! This has been the most useful and entertaining video i''ve watched so far.Excellent editing, music, just perfect. It gave me what I was looking for. To get a clear idea of what Svalvard is. Simply great, Thank you!
Hi Anton. Glad to see you alive and well. I hope you are well, it seems you are here, with another great travel series.
I'm so thankful for this video. I can see places and not feel so bad about never seeing them in real life. I would definitely come here for a visit for a few days to a week for sure. I don't drink anymore so not sure what else there is to do besides nature and avoiding polar bears. I do love seeing the pride flag in such a remote area--I mean it is Norway after all.
Svalbard is definitely on the bucket list of destinations to go to. Very nice teaser!
Real good content. Your work never disappoints. 10/10🥂

amazing video, glad youre safe and back with the content.
glad that you are back to your travel videos Anton.
You should make a course on storytelling , you are definitely a pro in it.
According to Google: "Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago between mainland Norway and the North Pole.... it's known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra sheltering polar bears, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes. The Northern Lights are visible during winter, and summer brings the “midnight sun”-sunlight 24 hours a day"
What an informative video. My daughter's internship Mentor spent the summer there and, though we have been to Norway twice, and loved it, I would love to visit there. So, thank you for the information on so many things. Safe travels!
❤
I came across this video when looking for something to watch about Svalbard. I recently saw Svalbard in videos Cecilia Blomdahl puts on her KZhead channel. She is a content creator and videographer and lives there with her dog and her boyfriend. I wanted to see another point of view and found your video. I really enjoyed it and the follow-up video in Pyramiden. Thank you for letting me follow along on your travels. I really appreciate the work you put into your videos. I look forward to watching more from your channel.
I can only imagine getting a regular glimpse of the Northern lights, to witness Polar bears from afar. I would gladly give everything up for a life here, this is paradise on Earth.
I too stumbled upon your channel after the war broke out. Very interesting content. Looking forward to the next chapter. Stay safe from bears both polar and Russian!
Dude you have the best travel videos I’ve ever saw
What a capture! Great coverage. Well done buddy! Enjoyed every second of this content!
I loved your English much more! It gave the whole inspiration and the joy of watching you. Please, return it (even as a Russian-native person, it is super enjoyable listening to your English with your intonation). Love!
Wonderful video! Svalbard is my "geocrush" (a geographic location that I fall in love with). It's definitely on my bucket list. Thanks so much.

We all know that your traveling videos are archived, and that's exactly why you've been such a great reporter on the LIVES of UKRAINE.

I've known about Svalbard for a long time as home of the Global Seed Vault, but I never knew it could be visited, much less inhabited, until I found Cecelia Blomdahl's channel and now I am obsessed! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this with a very clear voice and diction. So easy to understand.. The virtual tour is amazing.
Anton, I miss your original voice
I love your travel videos and your Ukraine lives coverage. You are an excellent presenter
Thank you for this video! I'm obsessed with Svalbard lately. Greetings from Romania!
I absolutely love your content Anton. Another reason for myself to move to this wonderful part of the Earth just to be one with Nature. Thank you. - Shane..
So excellent as always. Thank you.
Anton looked 10 years younger than he looks now...war takes its toll.
Great video, Anton! Stay safe, man.
I remember discovering you some 6 months ago - during better times. For the most horrific reasons, you went off my radar.
Incredible landscape, beautiful photography, and substantive information. Many thanks - much appreciated.
Svalbard beer and no one locks there car or flat. sounds like a great place!
I have been to long year I have friends there. I like your mini doc. I found 7 bars and was in the hospital. I’d like to say thanks to the helicopter search and rescue team for saving my life and giving me a better view than even David Attenborough has ever had 😊 I will say my friends in Spitzberg are happy and great polar bear in the sky willing I will make their wedding next year despite my disability now. Please all have a happy Christmas and PEACE
Anton, we LOVE your voice, we want it back!
Антон, my mother-in-law watched your videos with subtitles and understood all your English. You sound more authentic than the person who dubbed it for you. Love your videos. Wishing the best to you and your country.
Hi bea
I have watched this video several times in Russian because it was so amazing (actually all videos several times). Decided to watch it again in English, heard the first sentence of the intro and... disappointment at the highest level 😅 No person (doesn't matter if he is a native English speaker) will ever be able to give the same emotions and feelings as Anton. Hope the person who did the voiceover doesn't take it personally.
How are you
Thank you Anton for doing more videos
Looking forward to come over there
I love your videos especially the ones form your country. Why did you overdub your voice? You speak English very well. Another note, I don't think people form Svalbard (Svalbardians?) "trade" their cars for snowmobiles in the winter. Snowmobiles are for fun not for everyday transport.
...beautiful. Thank you for this first part.
Immediately subscribed. Though I haven't been out of India yet, these remote places are absolute treasures. Thank you! Had never heard of Svalbard to date.
Энтони, ну так не пойдет) Ты же должен был понять, почему мы тебя смотрим)))) Понятно, что ЦА тут другая, но поверь, нужен твой голос. Не стесняйся, действуй!
The bar being named sval-bar is a pretty funny pun
Where do I start. 1. Locals dont say Longyear, we say Longyearbyen. 2. Spitbergen is the biggest Island, the Archipelago is named Svalbard. 3. Not allowed to take pets into building (wrong) ??. 4. Cant keep dogs in flat?. Not true 5. You can get buried, but has to be cremated. 6. You can cross the sign without a gun, but its not smart. You wont get a fine. 7.The guy that got killed was not a tourist, he worked at the camp site. 8. 30% dont speak russian in Longyearbyen. 9. 5 bars??? we got atleast 9. 10. We dont use glaciers ice, we just lie to tourists.
yep I watch a KZheadr that lives there and I'm going nope not correct
Cecelia Blomdahl lives here & has a KZhead all about it 💕 She has a cabin right outside town on the water. It's beautiful!
I enjoy your original voice, more natural and influences the whole viewing experience. I have always had an issue with dubbing, even in movies.
Я говорю по английски свободно но мне так не хватало голоса Антона и его акцента! Я обожаю разные акценты потому что это то что выделяет человека. Антон плиз. верни свою озвучку!!!!!
I'm so confused why did you dub the video with a random voice?
Love ur audio add up.... Very unique keep it up.
Dude, I’ve been following you for awhile. You’re a great travel host. I know you don’t speak English but your counterpart does. You’d crush a travel show in the US.
Спасибо за видео, но увы Антон у тебя просто супер английский который очень круто слушать. Переозвучка носителем очень портит восприятие
Why? Why the synchronization? You speak perfectly good english! It is kind of fake this way. Even if your pictures and storytelling is very very good and i like it very much i cant watch this synchro thing! sorry! Please reupload with your voice over.
No time for that, the war is on, busy with other things
Can’t tell you how happy I was to get this video’s notification 😇😇😇😇
I'm so happy you translate these to English! I loved the video. I've been extremely curious about going to Svalbard for almost two decades now.
So you decided to get native English speaker. Video sounds for me not familiar . Please Anton, use your own voice 🇺🇦❤️

I were at Svalbard in 2003, in march as the the northern lights is best then. Thanks to snow, it were easy to travel to Barentsburg too with Snowmobiles.

Lol the name Sveagruva translates to Swedish mine... it's funny how Norway owns the place but still names places after Sweden...
It was first mined by a swedish company. First person to get a mining licence there (on behalf of the company) had the most swedish name ever, Bertil Högbom.
