That's how Warhammer lore has always worked. I don't care what GW says, Nurgle came first because bacteria existed since primordial soup, well before the Crusades. It doesn't matter how many purpetuals pop up and say the Big E was Alexander the Great or whatever, he's the gesalt whole of a thousand shamans who shamanised him into being. At this point you can say Custodes are just Stormcast Eternals because they kind of are and in a way, always were.
Especially considering that writers bias is meant to be a thing in Warhammer. "Huh, weird, they must have been mistaken. I'll inform the adeptus ministatum to to fix the error.."

It's more personal and disgusting when you remember the Custodes already worked hand-in-hand with a female counterpart organization called the Sisters of Silence -- making it a million times even more unnecessary to do this. Just a bigger middle finger to the fans. Already had a female group right there to use.
And let's not forget: The Aelderi Blades of the Emperor Adeptes Sororitas Hell, the four Chaos Gods literally have no gender at all, and Slannesh manifests often as an androgyne There's more than enough inclusiveness already without shitting on lore for diversity sake.
The problem is that they can't accept a "main human-like faction only lead by men". So no matter what, if it is a fantasy race, don't care. If it is a female only human-like race, don't care. BUT HUMAN MALE ONLY, NOT ACCEPTED ! They want to show a female character leading a male only army.
Fun Fact, if I’m correct of course, the people at Amazon looked at the Sisters of Silence/Sisters of Battle, (Amazon) quoting that the Sisters of Battle were “Too Religious.” It seems the big dogs over at Amazon don’t want women to be fanatical.

They don’t care about the lore. It’s not enough. For females to have their own faction/org. It’s about not letting men, in particular Henry, have his.

It won't happen, Amazon has a contractual obligation with GW to see this show made under their purview, in their platform and GW is woke af and very anti-fan given their draconian content creation policies. Such show can be made, yes, but it will be little more than fan made thing as crowd fund would get it C&D'ed immediately. Even then, it'll be C&D'd regardless by both Amazon and GW to force people to watch the official one.

@RedLithic Squint really hard at the Sisters Repentia, they have jacks in the new models. They're not the exact same as the black carapace but with how little sense it makes for that to be something exclusive to Space Marine and how not dissimilar enough to though impulse units it is, it doesn't matter.
Ive been doing Warhammer for 20yrs and I can tell you this; I will NOT be watching a show that has had its lore twisted to satisfy corporate agender. There are multiple other factions with females that could have filled this role, maybe even better. Characters like Lotara Sarrin are loved in the community BECAUSE they are not super soldiers. She was a normal human who was not bowed by the literal demi gods she served alongside. We do NOT need power armoured females, we need good, relatable and interesting characters.

I'd watch the hell out of an Amberley Veil show. The Cain books have developed her as an awesome character in her own right. Fans like Caviil because he tries to stay true to lore as much as possible. He also doesn't seem to attack fans over disagreements. For example, he didn't attack fans when there were skeptics in his Witcher role. He's also easy on the eyes for female fans, so that helps too.

So far, major companies have pissed-off the fans. 40K just ignored continuity. Pokemon(at least Pokemon Go) has made their avatars ugly for everyone. And Stellar Blade censored stuff when they said they weren't.
To be fair with Stellar Blade, Sony made the changes and not Shift-Up. The creators were contractually obligated to bend the knee.

Think GamesWorkshop in conjunction with Amazon did this deliberately because of Henry Cavill. They knew what the faction Henry liked and said lets "Screw him with some DEI" just like they did in Witcher. There are Sisters of Battle, a 100% female force in the Imperium. They are pretty good too. Flamers, heavy flamers and plasma guns everywhere. No need to destroy established lore.

The one way I can believe it true is that GW has always said it is a model company first and a lore company second. So with the female custodies that is a massive lore change and in one of the leak there was no mention of new sculpts, heads or models after the announcements. They have always released new models with new editions. That why I can believe the leaks. Plus a lot of leaks have been proven right these past few years

I'm a woman amd really excited to see what they do with the lore and existence of female custodes. I like Warhammer, but it's a meat fest because the only real combat group is the Adepta Soroitas are all religious nuts. Having a few of the custodes being women is so cool because it give a NON ultra religious female fighter unit, or at least a blended unit. The women fighters = a religious based unit gets a bit tiresome. Amberly Vail was really cool, so I'm hoping we get more characters like her from the Custodes.

It's a matter of taste and perspective, so that would be hard to make illegal. I'm a woman and I like the changes coming to Warhammer, but that's my opinion. It's a different division with a unique purpose. The Space Marines are mass produced so it makes sense that they're all men, but the Custodes are not. The idea of having specialized soliders is awesome, so a few of them beong women is exciting. As long as they don't go Doctor Who levels of retcon, this change seems very reasonable.
All laws are arbitrary and decided by men. If men collectively decided to make that illegal today, no one could stop them.
The man just wants a faithful adaption of IP's he likes; is that really so much to ask?... who am I kidding, of course it is for these people

Amazon has no fucking clue about how backlash would hurt Games Workshop. GW makes ALL their money from rulebook and minis, if people stop buying them new GW doesn't make any money.

Oddly, GW had female Space Marines back in the Rogue Trader day, sold in blister packs of 2 and made of 'pewter'. Sold so poorly that the 5 shops (vaguely) near me had dozens of backstock blisters in the storage room. That's each store, not total.
