  • As an actual professional smith I can't resist making two comments: First the number and variety of techniques you used effectively are impressive. The other side of the coin: you killed a huge amount of time by not using heat....until you did. Fun video!! Definitely a great teaching exercise I'm gonna throw at students! Just for those who want to try without smelting a combination of heating and LIGHT hammering may work, I havent forged aluminum, because it is best worked in other ways. However, most metals will bond to themselves and some others with a mixture of heat and pressure. Mokume Gane in various grades of aluminum might be done this way and look incredible if etched well.

Well done for thinking outside the box, but I can't help but feel that this approach completely missed the intention of mindfulness and patience when doing this exercise. But hey, if you got the toys you gotta use 'em, right? 😁. He who dies with the most toys, wins.

  • You could sell them at Walmart, Canine section. $3.99. I think you need a bigger press: 50 ton is your next acquisition. Would make mincemeat of that baby. As for the exquisite padlock, hawk it to Masterlock for their lobby. $ 30k. You’d have to cheat a bit like you did here with the aluminum ball, and fabricate a cv with various shows and museum holdings ( you may have all that). Those big company boards buy PERCEIVED value. All in all, great display of many, many shop tricks and ingenuity. A being of my like-heart and mind. Bravo!!!

    • Deagan Warheit Well he did admit that he was cheating and the challenge isn’t to polish a cast sphere made from tinfoil but to polish a ball of slightly compacted tinfoil. Why reply to my comment if you don’t like it? Why put a comment section on KZhead videos? Why create a website to share ideas and entertainment? Maybe the best question is what the fuck are you going to do about it?

    • @@shelby8386 I'm replying to you, because you sound like an edgy teen or twenty year old. Not gonna do anything about it. And it's your choice given that you have access to a form of expression. Though I dare say, being angry because someone else did something in a way you didnt like is rather hilarious. In that it makes you a joke. Even if he claimed to have done the challenge without cheating, and he did not, being angry because he did would make me think your emotions come from nowhere substantial. And to me, that makes you a joke. I wont reply more, I just hope you think about what it takes to make you angry. Oh and dont pull "I wasnt angry, you dont have definitive proof!", it's the internet and your name mixed with the "what are you gonna do about it" is enough.
