  • Most people really didn't pay attention. The Spurs weren't as bad as their record suggests. They were messing around with point-Sochan and lost a ton of games as the result. They were playing Wemby at 4 next to Zach Collins which was disaster. The moment they moved Wemby to 5 and started Tre Jones, they were no longer a bottom feeder.

Victor is truly unique specimen spending another summer in the lab, now with nba resources behind him and a focused approach for a specific team. I would wager he’s at worst a top 15 player next year. The spurs will experiment less next year with lineups, know their personnel and their chemistries better, a chemistry that was formed over last season. Not to mention, the rotation of this team was very young and now has another year under its belts. 40 Wins

  • Another spurs fan here! When we talk about this coming offseason, I hope Spur to target two special guys. No.1 is Magic's Isaac. This season Wemby is often defending two or more guys at same time, he needs some help. If Isaac joins us, we can play swishing defense on front court sooooo well. Plus, we can avoid Wemby losing stamina quickly. In my imagination, if we get Raptor's pick this year, spur & Magic's trade would be like this: Spur gets: Issac + 2024 magic's 1st round pick Magic gets: Raptor's pick + Malaki + maybe two 2st round picks. If it's a done deal, then imagine we put Wizard's Avdija along with Wemby & Isaac. Yes, he is my No.2 Solid defense + sneaky-good ISO + a little bit playmaking. Sounds like Ben Simmons with shoot + good attitude and only 4yrs/5500M. But it would cost more assets to make it come true. That'd in my mind like this: Spur gets: Avdija Wizard gets: Magic's pick+ Bull's pick + Zack + Graham( to help with salary match) If we go lucky, we may have the starters line like this: Wemby Isaac/ Sochan Avdija/ KJ/Sidy Vassell Tre Plus our own 2024 1st pick to backup. We all know pop's great at developing offense in DEFENSIVE TALENTS. In this case, Sarr, Resacher and maybe Topic are all good additions to us. Even if we finally go for any PG with Hawk's picks, this kind of defensive starters line will make it more acceptable.

I say use the '24 draft to find a Giannis or Kahwi cause talent isn't obvious then '25 to get core pieces. 26 27 develop 28 your first serious playoffs and free agency moves because you developed some assets from '24 but they're not good enough. • The Spurs started to find chemistry the last 10 games of the season. They probably would have got there a lot sooner had they not done the Sochan PG experiment the first 28-30 games, then ran Malakai at point another 5-7 games. I could see them winning about 10 or a little more games had they started Tre at PG and Wemby at center from the beginning of the season. I don't think it would have moved the needle much and the experimenting gave them a better understanding of how to use Wemby and who to put around him.

  • The Spurs have some nice talent at the bottom of the roster who could be nice rotation players. I’m concerns about drafting. The Spurs have a poor recent track record including major first round busts in Samanic and Primo and nothing from the 2nd round except Tre Jones. They passed on Haliburton for Vassell and passed on Sengun for Primo. They’ve gotten a pass because they ended how with Wemby. They can’t make mistakes like that again. That’s one reason I’d like to see them trade some of those picks for established talent.

  • PATFO started the SPURS MACHINE at the end of the season! The Spurs for the past 3 decades have always had a team where the can plug in a few parts but the core stays the same. When they would get a new player (mostly vets) they always took a year to assimilate to the team and the culture. 23-24 was the first year that they had a core that they could instill the "Spurs Way" since The Big 3 retired. The whole team was finally on the same page in the last 3 weeks of this season. Most of the last 3+ years has been development of Spurs own draft picks. Most of their roster is under 24 yrs old and aquired in the last 2 years, they came in from 1 year of college ball and have had to learn NBA basketball since the Spurs drafted them. Then they drafted Wemby which made the team have to learn how to play around him on top of executing what they learned the season before. I think they will use this next season to compete as a team not just a bunch of young players learning how to play. Now they know how to play together next year is time to execute.

I say get Tyus Jones and Tobias Harris to start for now and mentor the young guys. Then in the draft depending on where they land you got options. I hope they get Risacher but let's says they get pick 5. Let's say Risacher is off the board, Sarr, Clingan, and Topic. I say nab up Castle and develop him to be your Dejounte Murray of the future! That is highly possible for the Spurs as they will have time and Castle already knows how to be an unselfish player for a playoff contending team. If im the spurs I don't want to continue to build I want to contend. I want to give Wemby tools and see where he can go with them. He could possibly be a one man show but... if any of these guys can become all star level or better like Vassell or Sochan or for example Castle if drafted to them. Now you are talking about a scary future for this team and a possible dynasty.

Say what you want about Harris being nonexistent during playoff time but overall he is a good dude that can help mentor some of these young guys. If you guys can even be a playoff team next year it will be on the back of the improvements that can be made from the young guys. So like if Vassell, Sochan, or even Branham can take that next step with a solid PG you guys might be on to something.

    • @lecoolpotager6670 I don't get the Harris slander. If LeBron James can drag a team where is 2nd best player is Larry Hughes to the finals why can't Wembenyama with Harris?

    • @@Crickily I never said anything about us being in the playoffs next season lol idk where you got that info from?? My comment was literally on about how bad dude is for the amount he’s making, the last thing Spurs need is to throw away money we can use on someone better than him There’s literally videos on his game getting broken down on how bad he is don’t believe me? Look up “Tobias Harris is bad”

  • Alex sarr and Dalton knect trade keldon Johnson and Zach collins Hawks pick (from Murray trade) for Trae young. If spurs think that too much ask for jalen Johnson. Johnson jacked up so many shots early season when victor was in post up position. 2 year 30 mil contract offer to saddiq bey or anyone better in that range.

    • The Hawks aren’t trading junk for Trae Young. At the very least they’ll expect their picks back.
