  • Ronnie has just won his 7th World title, but these are the best 3 frames I have ever watched. I, like most of the country watching this at the time, thought Ronnie was done for and he plays almost perfect snooker, when any mistake could have been his last. This was definitely the highlight of 2020, a year that will never be forgotten in history.

  • I’m a huge fan of Hendrys commentary. He only speaks when he has something to say and doesn’t feel the need to fill the air with talk and hyperboil (like Murphy) but the best thing is you see his eye for position, he sees something and then explains its benefit and why a player should go for a particular shot - it’s a fascinating insight into what made him such a dominant player and shows his mind is still as sharp as ever.

It was my favourite player, Ronnie, who I thought was beaten, against the player I dislike the most, the slow, boring Mark Selby, Ronnie just going for mad shots, I was a nervous wreck when I was watching it live, but when Ronnie came back and won, I couldn't believe what I was watching. I'm sure Selby thought he was in the final, looking up at his missus, thinking, ' I'll see this out'. Ronnie's pot in the penultimate frame off the balk cushion was sublime, like Hendry said. It has to be the best 3 frames I've ever seen. The Rocket never fails to amaze. Go on Ronnie.

  • Mark Selby did nothing wrong, played superb snooker. Ronnie knew his only hope was to give it 100% attack as he needed the last 3 frames to win. Reverse this and Selby would have ground it out and strangled the game to get over the line. This is why Ronnie is unique. Anyone who suffered the 2014 final will remember how Selby crushed the the spirit of all snooker purists. No one could ever wish for that kind of repressive formula again. Ronnie wasn`t going to suffer that again. His battle-hardened mindset knew what to do this time around. He beat Mr Granite with pure brilliance.

Ronnie somehow landed straight on the black and had to force it in and got an unwanted contact on the reds. I expected to get the red into the green pocket. • He was not exactally straight and the easy reverse side shot is not for right handeds in this side of the table. 33:12

      @VictorHugo-og6ni@VictorHugo-og6ni3 жыл бұрын
    • @@TofuTofu88 he was not exactly straight, he could have screwed back with reverse side but wont get far towards the 2 reds on the right of the pink. He should have been more careful when plays the red before that black to ensure nice position on the black but then again at that time reds are every where so no extra attention given iguess. I still think about this to be honest eventhough Ronnie already has the sixth world trophy in his cabinet at home...

    • If he were straight the screw back would have been the choice most definitely. He was left with a very slight angle leading the cue ball towards the black cushion. You can still screw back with reverse side there as has been mentioned but its not easy and you probably won't get up table much but perhaps in between the red's. The position is not a given... The top spin choice was great obviously. I think it's quite unlucky to land there with so many red's open. At the same time its a bad shot landing there. Might sound like I'm pretending to be an expert lol but no not at all it's just how I see it.

    • One red was going to right middle after last black. Was that better option than he played? I am not very good at also. Thanks.

  • Selby clearly wanted it more, Ronnie couldn't give a fuck. 😂😂😂. Think Selby chewed his knuckles off during that last snooker. Nothing to prove anymore, just takes everything as a bonus at this stage/age in his career. Legend.

  • Maybe the best three frames of snooker I've ever seen, and a devastating comeback from Ronnie -- one which arguably did permanent damage to Selby's psyche -- and Ronnie can only go on about not having a cue action and how he just got lucky! Ronnie forever taking the piss! 😂

  • Question: when Ronnie was on 64 in the deciding frame, why did he play for the tricky red into the top right rather than one of the two easier reds nearer to the pink? One more red and the frame was his.

    @CoopDuck@CoopDuck2 жыл бұрын
    • I think the most logical idea, is that the 2 reds and the pink were all blocking each other… else he surely would have seen it… and the commentators would have mentioned it too…
