Josh Peck Says HE LIED ABOUT DAN SCHNEIDER Following 'Quiet On Set' Backlash
After the premiere of the "Quiet On Set" docuseries and the emergence of an old clip where Josh Peck defended Dan Schneider, Josh faced a wave of backlash. Observers noted that Josh had not publicly addressed the allegations against Schneider after the docuseries aired, nor had he shown support for Drake Bell. This silence was particularly noticeable as the revelations in the docuseries would have been new information to him regarding what Bell had endured.
In the face of mounting expectation for him to speak out, Josh Peck has now issued a statement regarding the A B allegations made by Drake Bell in "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV."
Josh Peck and Drake Bell were co-stars on the Nickelodeon series "Drake & Josh" from 2004 to 2007. In the documentary, Bell shared his experience of being S A by dialogue and acting coach Brian Peck (who is not related to Josh), who was involved with "All That" and "The Amanda Show" during the late '90s and early 2000s.
Josh Peck, on Instagram, shared his reaction to the "Quiet On Set" documentary, stating, "I finished the 'Quiet On Set' documentary and took a few days to process it. I reached out to Drake privately, but want to give my support for the survivors who were brave enough to share their stories of emotional and physical A B on Nickelodeon sets with the world. Children should be protected. Reliving this publicly is incredibly difficult, but I hope it can bring healing for the victims and their families as well as necessary change to our industry."

  • Josh is a clear backstabber. He's like that coworker that acts like they're your friend, but when the manager steps in the room they throw you under the bus first chance they get. Ratting you out saying what you haven't done and talking badly about you to make themselves seem like a better person. You can tell he's phony and fake

  • Josh has always felt really fake since he came back into the spotlight. He's got this weird phony visage that seems like he wants to be liked too much. He's also always ON and has a super outgoing and sort of high-speed vibe that almost feels like the result of some substance (I could definitely be wrong, but I've seen it before when anti-depressants are casually mixed with recreational substances). On the opposite end, I feel like the actual likable people, such as Drake and Jenette, have a very calm and reserved demeaner. They feel real.

I'm a victim & I'm a no-body. I never told anyone (besides my parents right after it happened when I was 8 in 1978) My Wife, Kids & best friends never knew. That 52yr old "Illegal Immigrant" did bad things to me at our local baseball park bathroom. My Dad caught him molesting my Best Friend just as the Police arrived & they talked my Dad down from shooting him with his .357mag pistol! Luckily they let my Dad go & this immigrant was a 3 Time Offender! How can this happen? He was killed in the TX Prison System a year later! This stuff stays with the victim forever! I can still smell him, the bathroom, everything & I'm 53 now!

  • In most of these instances, you can see that Dan Schneider/ Brian Peck and others kind of picked a kid or a couple of kids as "targets" for their abuse and deliberately played favorites or at least played nice to other kids on the same show. That way the kid being abused is further isolated and shamed because it makes them feel like there's something wrong with **THEM** and also makes it harder for them to feel like theyd be believed when they come forward because their costars who werent being abused would defend the abuser. I'd extend some grace to the kids who havent spoken out - the Josh Pecks, the Ariana Grandes, etc. We dont know what they were put through, if they were threatened into silence, if they were lied to/manipulated or suffered abuse themselves. Even if they didnt, it cant be an easy thing to have a huge chunk of your career and childhood turned upside down and inside out and realizing that the people around you were monsters who were tormenting your friends. Lets also keep in mind that victims of abuse can in turn become perpetrators of abuse (in the case of Drake Bell) - the abuse he suffered does not excuse what he did, but at least gives some insight as to how he got to the point of being an abuser himself.

    • Thank you I agree with this, it’s hard to judge people so hard and the public is so quick to judge and point fingers and cancel people for not saying the “right” things. Or speaking out on issues. I feel a type of way about how Josh refers to his experience and relationship with Drake, even before all this came out. He mentioned that it was just a show and they were just coworkers, I understand sometimes the relationships we love on screen we want them to be real and they’re not buuut to refer to someone who you workers with for years! As just a coworker? And it was just a job seems a little cold to me. But I can’t judge Josh too much because I’m sure he’s gone through his own share of experiences that has made him how he is, and he seems money and fame hungry and those are characteristics I don’t like either but I also don’t think he’s as terrible as people paint him out to be. I know I’m just assuming but people just saying Josh is a piece of shit without actually even knowing the full truth like literally everyone I’m just saying maybe we should be a little lighter on josh since ABSOLUTELY NO ONE STILL knows the full story of their backgrounds. • It doesn't surprise me that he defended Dan at all. Not because I think he knew anything but because Dan seemed to treat white males differently than everyone else, most of his abuse and disturbing behavior were targeted toward women and black cast members. So it would make sense that Josh just didn't experience the discomfort many others did because it wasn't directed at him. Many survivors have this feeling, the gratefulness and relief that they were spared often colors theor views.

  • Out of the two, Drake feels more sincere, genuine and wears his heart on his sleeve... Where as Josh gives off the vibe of having hidden agendas. The way he acts and speaks feels very forced and theatrical, like he is putting on a performance to his audience to gain likes. From the beginning Josh had a silent vendetta towards Drake, because Drake was the heart throb at the time, the more popular one within the D&J fandom and also a very talented musician. Josh has always had the complex of being the funny 'fat' one, and did anyone notice that Josh became way more spicier and spikier once he lost weight? It was like the ignition to his dark alter ego. It shone through even in his character performance in D&J, and once the show was well over, I found that he had this cocky, unlikable nature whenever he appeared on social media skits. It doesnt surprise me that Josh didnt want to keep in touch once the show was over, and it really doesnt surprise me how upset Drake was that he never got invited to his wedding - that's a clear signifier that both felt completely different ways towards each other. Drake was upset because he wanted to be part of such a huge moment in Josh's life, and he shut him out. And NOW, that Drake is going through a VERY public reveal of his horrifying past, Josh is showing very half-assed and insincere support. In his mind, he's probably feeling anger that all the attention is on Drake again. I don't like Josh at all, he's the perfect example of the type of friend that never has your best interests at heart. Absolutely love Drake, always have and I just pray this is a fresh new chapter for him to heal and ascend on to better times. ❤❤❤
