Well after months of procrastinating I finally bit the bullet. Ordered a new to me (used) Canon 600m F4 Prime lens, also known as the Holy grail for Wildlife Photography.
But it did come with setbacks and struggles from the place where I ordered it - That's today's video.

The excitement you are showing in getting this lens is just pure joy , enjoy
THANK YOU - I'M sure enjoying it - and thanks for watching
Glad you finally got it!!
What a gorgeous lens. Congrats, Brother - hope you get the pics you're after!
I am located in the UK and I have used MPB to buy and to sell several items in the past. Never had a problem with them. I’d give them 5 stars myself.
Good to hear they exceed expectations sometimes - in the end I got a great product - just wished I could say the same about their service - thanks for watching
No better feeling than getting a new lens!! Congratulations! And I agree, FedEx is always on point with their scanning
that's the true - I've been really happy with the images out of this so far - Thank You for watching.
I have used MPB a number of times with no problems at all. Sorry to hear about the problems you had. They seem to me to be good people to deal with and as you said, the condition of excellent is almost like new condition in all my dealing too.
Yeah it's weird that there was shipping issues on both orders - maybe an employee or shortage of them is the issue, I'm happy with the item for sure. Thanks for your input.
i've used MPB to buy and sell gear, they've always been great.
Congratulations! I also got the same lens from MPB, it’s a beautiful lens!
congrats on your purchase - I'm loving mine - thanks for watching
$6300.00 is a steal! I have one and bought it new when it first came out and wouldn’t upgrade to the version 3 as it had issues and a little less sharp. I personally talked with a few people who complained that they could not get tack sharp images with the 1.4 on the V 3. I never had that problem on my V 2 with either TC. So Enjoy, your going to Love it! 😉
I've been incredibly happy with this lens - although I be;ieve it has focus issues sometimes - where I have to manually focus it ? - the image quality is insane as well even with my 1.4 tele v3 on it - THANKS FOR WATCHING
@@TheWildlifeGallery388 yes it can hunt sometimes which I feel is due to not enough contrast like when a bird blends into the background. I usually have to pump the autofocus button or use single point focus to acquire focus. Also try setting the focus preset to a distance close to your subject and press it if it hunts to get back into the vicinity to re-acquire focus. Have fun!
Well that lens will certainly up your game Doug a great buy in the end.
I'm amazed at the sharpness of the images so far, my 1-400 is great - but this is a step up for sure - THANKS for watching.
Man, you've got more patients than steel itself! I know that If I was ever to invest in such an expensive glass - be it new or second hand, I'd be putting my trust in Amazon rather than some back road weekend run outfit.
agreed - unfortunately Amazon was 4500 more for a renewed lens - otherwise I would have - THANKS FOR WATCHING
Enjoy the lens, you got a great setup.
I am enjoying it - its incredibly sharp - but extremely HEAVY as well - THANKS AGAIN
Crazy hassle! Good Luck with the new lens!
Thank you
I bought a EF 600 f4 lll adapted it to my R5. I have since had a chance to test the RF 600 F4. I think Canon just took a EF version lll and permanently attached the adapter. Basically the two lenses are same weight and I could see no difference in performance.
Sorry about your troubles with MPB, I will just say I've used them 9 times and never one problem. That being said great lens and have a blast with it.
I certainly have had that - the Ole saying alls well that ends well comes to mind I’ve taken some great photos with it - Thanks for watching
I’ve used MPB 5 or 6 times. Most times it’s great. Once they received my package and only half my gear was checked in. After a month of arguments and such finally they processed an insurance claim for my quoted price. Sucked that one time but most of the time, minus slow shipping , they work great
I can say the lens is better than described in my book - Plus didn't hurt me waiting a few extra days to receive it and save nearly $800 - Thanks for watching Ethan
I totally understand your pain & frustration about going through so much additional, unnecessary drama. Unfortunately, I had an identical problem with Adorama, when I ordered my 300mm 1:2.8 L. I was mentally drained by the time it arrived to my doorstep. Enjoy your new lens. Please, let me know if it is well worth it for me to upgrade to your lens. I also shoot birds, also sports. Enjoy your new rig!
JP Thanks so much for watching - While it seems like we both had similar experiences, I can tell you that the purchase is/was so worth it - I would recommend this lens to anyone. - Have fun and be safe out there
… that’s the one! HA!!
Looks like it is an EF mount, as I see a converter and an extender on it. Is it a EF mount?
Yes it’s an EF mount - works great with the R5 - thanks for watching
I know the feeling, I bought my 600mm off of a Facebook friend, I paid a little more than you did because mine is the Canon 600mm f/4 version 3. I had it shipped to the local FedEx store so a porch pirate could not steal it. But naturally it was raining the day I got it, so I had it set up in the living room with the front door open and I am shooting birds on top of the mailbox across the street.
lol - got try them out immediately when ya get them, I was like a kid at Christmas when mine arrived - Thank you for watching
I am currently going through a similar situation with a lens, fedex has days with the lens and does not deliver it to me
oh wow - Sorry to hear that
@@TheWildlifeGallery388Today I contacted again and they tell me that there is a thunderstorm in Memphis and that is why I have not received the lens.
That doesn't sound like a very good endorsement for mpb camera gear sales. Almost all of the gear I order from multiple different sources is in the mail by the next day or it arrives at or before the promised arrival date. It's great that you got a lens in like new condition but that's not due to MPB, the bad service is their fault though.
totally agree. If it wasn't for saving the nearly $800 I wouldn't have bothered trying again. - Thanks for watching
rf 600 f4 is 80 per cent faster to focus with the 2x extender on !!
Thanks for the info
