AD Oh my goodness, Today we are heading out to the FESPA Print Trade show in Amsterdam, and we take a big tour and look around the Roland Stand, and get to see our brand new Sticker and Cutter machine for our Small Business!

right?! I gave up because i felt intimidated by having to call a dealer, incase it was out of my price range lol, so I wanted information on it first! Thats why i ended up outsourcing in the end! I hope I can share a little more now when I get it! I think I would of went for the BN-20 range!

I had a BN-20 and loved it. I used it for almost everything. Sometimes I would set up a large print job and go to bed. It would be done when I got up. That's how much I believed in the product.
Oh wowww, I 100% think I would of invested in the BN-20 if I knew more about them in 2024, I know another sticker business Tim Koa has had HUGE success with his!

Congratulations on the brand ambassadorship! I'm really interested in the desktop VersaSTUDIO BD-8. The pricing is so much more affordable than the typical giant UV printers I've seen. I will definitely be looking into one of those.

That's amazing! So happy for you getting to expand your business like this and save lots of money in the long run! I'm very tempted by the versastudio bn2-20, I hadn't heard about it, but the fact it could replace my bulky canon pro 10s to not only print my art prints but then also do stickers and fabric DTFs! I'll definitely mention you if(more likely when) I buy one!

@@KatnippStudios I’m so excited for you!!! 🥳 Also, I think it would be nice if you could pair up with Roland to make a more in-depth video about this machine. Like a demonstration video showing the different products that can be made using it (maybe doing Katnipp sticker/prints or something like that) and a conversation with someone from Roland about the specifications of the machine, like maintenance, inks, blades, etc., to really showcase it. I have no idea if something like would be possible😅, but I think a video like that would be really cool and also a way for Roland to reach a different type of audience 😊
Can't wait to see what you make with the printer!! I've never heard of the Roland brand before but after seeing that trade show footage, I'm really interested in learning more about them!

Squeeee! I was wondering when we'd see the news on Roland and here it is! So bloody excited for what's to come! And the printing quality on these printers is fantastic! When I did work in a print shop we used Konica Minolta, which is decent for sure, but it obviously isn't the same as these... no where near! The smaller white one definitely has my eyebrows raised in curiosity, but that is a looooong ways from now for something for me to see about getting! The anticipation has got to be killer for the Katnipp team though! Knowing that you're getting that amazing machine and what you'll be able to do with it and the things you can do! The sky is totally the limit(less) on this adventure! So excited for the launch and excited for what's to come and be made from the team! So much love to you all!

OoOooo I’ll have to ask them this, I think maintenance is every year, let me double check on that! I’m sure we will find out all the details when we get it! 🥹🌷🌷
Knowing what you do after all your experience would you still say sublimation was worth doing or would you start with dtf?...how is the new tumbler heatpress working out? I know you had issues with the size tumblers not fitting well and see you're getting a different size tumbler, assume for a better fit for the new heatpress?...would love to see some more in-depth vids on the Roland gear for small businesses.😊
100% We still actively use sublimation daily in our small business, we make all our Mugs ect in house! So I would say its totally worth learning, it also depends on what your goals are, are you wanting to manufacture your own products? Or are you wanting more to be a artist, and sell your art on products, without having to make them! I personally enjoy making the products inhouse where I can, it allows for more experimentation and flexibility, especially when your starting out!

I am just starting out still don’t have a shop or KZhead content but selling on facebook. I am so interested in the desktop printer. Does it print sublimation? Or HTV/DTF only, as well as stickers, that’s what I am interested in.

Its crazy how now we are able to get our hands on big company machines as small buisness without breaking the bank! I'm planning on doing an overhaul of my studio and been thinking of getting a new printer and seeing these gets me excited once I get my new art studio
right?! I mean back in the day I don't think this sort of machine could of been accesible at all! I love it I feel lucky that we live in a age, where small business is easier than it used to be in some ways!

So did you get the printer and cutter gifted because of the new team up if so then you saying about how the video can help small businesses is not really true is not when you were given a 16k machine
She was saying how the smaller studio printers that Roland make would help smaller businesses move from craft/hobby type machines like cricut.
So I think this bigger machine wouldn’t be that suitable from hobby artists into the next step for small business (unless you were taking it super seriously and knew this is 100 percent where you wanted to take your business) , like where I was two or three years ago However if I knew about their desktop machines, like their smaller printer and cutters on this video, this probably would of been what I invested in instead of outsourcing my stickers because I had no idea what to do, I’ve spent a lot of money outsourcing stickers and really the amount of money I’ve spent buying in stickers would of been better invested into a desktop machine that would give me a lot more versatility and profit, which is why I’m hoping sharing the smaller machines will be helpful because there’s hardly ANY info online about them, hope this helps!
I don’t think this is a fair assessment, Roland clearly appreciate Katnipps large audience and the reach into the small business sphere so they benefit from the scheme. Catherine shows off some of the equipment available to help other artists and creators, when they need to improve/upscale to keep it in house instead of wholesaling their product and gets rewarded for helping Roland… she’s clearly not lying as she intended to buy the printer in the first place!
I agree not to trying to be offensive - but when she also said she couldn't afford a machine that price? If ETsy is flying you to New York I'm thinking you must be doing pretty well!
@dmac8711 her business does do well, but they still have cost of product, studio rent, and their own housing rent, utilities etc.
