Pokémon Leaf Green Hardcore Nuzlocke - Lorelei's Team only! (No items, No overleveling)
Lorelei has always been one of my favorite Kanto trainers. So, to celebrate this Christmas Season, I have decided to play through Leaf Green as a hardcore nuzlocke, where I can only use Lorelei's pokemon. This is not quite an ice run, but it is really close. Let's see how it goes!

Please keep in mind that aerodactyl is only 2 Times weak to ice. Rock has no weekness against ice. You could get punished for this in the future..
@@ifuckinglovehumanism3624 yeah I totally misspoke there. For some reason, I sometimes think that ice and rock are super effective against each other, but that’s not how it works
@@NuzlockeJoe yeah, easy mistake to make. I think its because of rock/ground times having a weakness to ice. I just wanted to make sure you know=)
The Lorelei backsprite kills me, I love it! Also my favourite E4 member probably is Lorelei herself. I like the pokemon she chooses.
Yeah Lorelei is my favorite to be sure. I did the best I could with it, it’s just unfortunate that Leaf, I think that’s the female default character, has a hat. I couldn’t quite figure out how change that into convincing hair.

Yeah, I realized after the fact that I should have done reindeer names or something more Christmasy, but whenever I think of Lorelei, Gilmore always comes to mind

you know, i can see how Lorelei is christmas themed because ice. i also thought it was really cool that you used her sprite and even decided to use piloswine as a 6th pokemon, though i suppose there werent many other options (you couldve used delibird but i mean, christmas theme isnt THAT important). i dont know if this is unoriginal, and im sure many will say this too, but my favorite kanto elite four is definitely Agatha. anyways, i enjoy all of your videos Joe, i declared my place here on this channel with the flying type hardcore nuzlocke, and i have not been disappointed with the content. i love all the videos and i enjoyed the content you decided to bring to the pokemon community. i hope you have an amazing christmas
A main reason I chose Lorelei is because her walking sprite was already in the game, so it required less work than some other trainers would have. And linking ice to Christmas, at least a little bit, seemed appropriate. You’re already the second person I say Agatha is your favorite, I didn’t realize she had so many supporters tbh. FYI ice does neutral damage to rock types, so your ice beam into aerodactyl was only 2x effective, not 4x!

Gilmore Girls theme naming? Interesting. Character theme runs are fun to see 13:05 "And it's another ice/water pokemon" -not until it evolves it isn't, so you just got a pure water type! For all of like 5 levels and no relevant battles
Love the video! How did you manage to change the sprite is it anything specific you need to do bc I’ve seen a another KZheadr do it for Misty having her sprite in the game. Plus you also inspired to use her team on my heart gold game lol using part of her stadium team and her main team amazing keep providing awesome content
I’m sure there are a few ways to do it. For me, I used this video to learn how to download the decomp files, which includes all the sprites. So I can just edit the sprites to my hearts content. Cool video Interesting to see how Ice types perform in the early game since are normally available really late I watched an MANDJTV Ice type only USUM playthrough that showed can actually get Smoochum pretty early Add in Alolan Ninetails and Alolan Sandslash being used by Lorelei in LGPE rematch team then think would be cool as a sequel video Like Lorelei gets on the wrong boat when going to the SEVII Islands and ends up in Alola Also did you consider using Lorelei's Pokémon from Spin-off game like Pokémon Stadium Lorelei uses Articuno, Exeggutor, Wigglytuff, Starmie and Omastar

As for her other Pokémon, I did consider that, but I didn’t think it was necessary. My goal was to get up to 6, and I was confident her team was strong enough to make it

Personally i think swinub should be her starter. Since in thr game, swinub can only be found in island 4 in the sevii island where Lorelei is from. Just my 2 cents. Great video btw😁

Well if you include all of Lorelei's teams you could also have gotten a Starmie and an Omastar(from her Pokemon Stadium 2nd round team) WHich I would have been fine with because that would have gotten you more options to play with and they certainly work in her team.
I did consider her stadium teams, but she also has Pokémon like executor and articuno, so I decided against it.

Agatha will always be my favorite kanto elite 4, for really committing to the bit on being a scary old lady. Also, she’s one of the most divorced characters in Pokémon. You can’t tell me with how she talks about him that Agatha didn’t get in an acrimonious divorce with Professor Oak.
I kinda like that backstory. I’m currently working on a Rom hack like this where I play as Agatha, so I might include that story line…

Yeah, the only real Lorelei characters I know are in Pokémon, and Gilmore girls. So I had to use them
Also, I'm sure you get a million suggestions and you're overwhelmed as it is but here's another one: Rival Silver's team is available in its entirety naturally in pokémon Platinum once you use the universal randomizer to replace the starter with a Johto one. 🤷🏻♂️ It would flow pretty well and be easy to set up
I can certainly consider it. I haven’t done any editing in gen 4 so I’m not sure to how change sprites and what not, but I’m sure I could figure it out.

Yeah I like that this was mostly an ice run, but articuno would certainly have brought a lot to the team.
but you still have 5 pokemons and articuno do a job like for 2 pokemons, so like full team

Been trying the same thing in USUM. Cynthia's final rematch BDSP team has been the only one that got me to the end. My slight modification to my nuzlockes is the main team members can still be used if fainted. All others are dead if fainted...

@Nuzlocke Joe usually I pick a route to add a main member when I get to said route instead having all 6 at the start using powersaves. Makes it more challenging and fun using mons not from the usum pokedex but also ones that are only on the last 2 Islands a lot earlier

I’ve been doing a hardcore nuzlocke gift Pokémon (in game trade/fossils included) in leaf green and it’s very fun and challenging
I actually have that one on my list! Granted, it’s a very long list so who knows when I’ll get to it.
