Hey thank you for this video. It was straight forward and perfect. My issue I was having was the wup installer gx2 wasn’t showing up on the Wii u home menu, but I finally figured it out. In the home brew AppStore it showed it was installed,but it wasn’t. All I had to do was from the home brew store remove and install it. After that it finally showed up on the Wii u home menu. 😂 Thank you again for the videos.

Note: I factory reset the wiiu. I redid the steps but when it gets to installing the payloader, it gets installed fine. But I do not get the A icon as I did before. So when I click on the safety app, it’s just the regular app. I have re-formatted the sd card, even uninstall everything and redid it. But the A app for payloader doesn’t appear to me anymore 😢 anybody else has this problem?

We fixed it without a nand backup thankfully.. hard modding isn’t really something I’m experienced in… anyway that’s beside the point of this comment. Awesome video as always! Thanks for the guide dude. Everything worked perfectly but I have one little question. After modding the Wii U, do I have to keep my microSD card inside for it to work with everything installed or can I take it away so I can use it for other things in the future?

The latest aroma update now includes the payload loader AND the ability to block updates. Haha. Just goes to show how quickly things are updated.
Fr, I was watching the part of him blocking updates and then I turned on my Wii u to see that their was an aroma update. Very funny.

couldn't get into the wii u hack guide website so this vid was really helpful, although it somehow took me three hours to work out the wii u related files had to be in a single folder on the sd card. many thanks

@@freddiemustdie559 when i extracted the files onto the sd card root they for some reason did not automatically combine the wiiu folders into one so i had to manually go back and do it. the only folders i have on the root of the sd card now are wiiu and my folders for individual homebrew apps (such as Dumpling), although i haven't downloaded anything related to the vWii yet so i don't know if they go in a separate folder on the root
Cant wait to see him give a turtorial for sonic mania on wii u... or maybe even the Sonic 1, 2, and CD ports...

yes you can skip it, but if you brick your wii u (which is rare) you wont be able to fix it without a nand backup

I’m running into an issue. After I highlight aroma and press A I receive a black screen with the words “environment loader: tried to overflow .data buffer” and doesn’t do anything else
@funkyscott47 Since I installed Aroma on my Wii U, the WiiWare games that I had purchased and had stored on a separate SD card no longer work. I've tried downloading those WiiWare games (as WAD files), converting them to vWii compatible WAD files and installing them but that didn't work. I've also tried doing a NAND dump etc... and starting them up with USB Loader GX but nothing. Just a black screen every time and I have to physically unplug the console. Is it possible to play WiiWare games in vWii mode once a Wii U Console has been modded?

Wii games cant go on the vwii menu, but you can put them on the wii u menu by injecting the wii game into a wii u game using UWUVCI and installing it on the wii u with wup installer gx2

We cannot show you how to download games on KZhead, but you do need your Wii u modded in order to play them, I'll be releasing more updated guides on how to install content like games to your Wii u

When I go to the page to download the aroma files. I see the Download payloads and download base aroma links, but there is nothing there for Dowload payload installer
They removed it the day after I uploaded, I don't think it's necessary but I'm going to remake this video as soon as possible

I couldn't get the DNS method to work, so I'll give this a go soon enough. Edit: this method worked miles better! For some reason, I just assumed the internet browser was shut off as well lol.

You can only add games/memory with a usb or hard drive, to mod it you need an sd card

Thank you for this tutorial! I'm stuck at Compat Title Installer. After installation I get the same screen as at 16:30 in the video, but it doesn't respont to the HOME button. I can turn off and on the consol, but after "Nintendo" logo comes the same screen with "Press HOME to exit.", but i can't exit to the home screen. Have you any ideas what's the problem and how can i get through it? Thanks for the help!
After powercord off/on, WiiU-Menu boot again. We will see how it works... Would be nice to know what cause the freez.
So the problem cause the earlier installed Haxchi HB. After uninstalling it from Apps, it worked. May this is a usefull information for some people.. thx for this tutorial ;)

which region are you? 5.5.6 is only for NA region

Just bought a second hand Wii U already hacked with aroma. Everything fine until I notice there is no disc & vWii channel on the profiles I create (local Mii or linking with Pretendo) but some profiles on the console do have those channels. Why is that happening? Any help would be appreciated I want to unlink previous owner’s profiles and keep just one for own usage
