Nigeria showing the whole world they were world class... They were the golden generation. They also were ranked the 4th best team in the world. The only African team to achieve this feat ever. Best performance have seen ever so far in a fifa world cup event.

I'm Egyptian, I was 9 years old at the time and I cried the day Nigeria were knocked out at the very last moment against Italy.... But it took a legend like Baggio to knock them out so can't complain but I still remember the pain when Baggio drew the game at the very end to force extra time and then end up winning.
They had an open and beautiful playing, but unfortunately they lacked the ability and maliciousness to hold a game. Cameron and Nigeria made history in soccer in their fast and creative game
I’m also Egyptian and I was 7, it’s the oldest memories that I can recall of me watching football for the first time, world cup 94, got me fond of Nigeria and players like Amokachi, Yekini Babangida, and Okocha whom I consider the best African player of all times and many other players and it got me fond of playing football at sun, whether in reality or in video games till now at the age of 36.
Thanks for the love from Egypt. Nigerians also have great respect for Egyptian football and your pedigree in the AFCON tournaments proves that.

The teamwork for this squad was at another level, with exceptional African performance. They were the African Champions that year. They really made Nigerians proud.

This is my childhood right here. So many beautiful memories. I used to recite the names of all the Nigerian players with my Dad and Uncle. Ahh...USA 94. I 15 years old and followed every game. I'm convinced that if Nigeria hadn't lost to Italy, we would have been in the final. If we had made it past Italy it would have been Spain in the quarter finals (a basic squad back in the 90s) and Bulgaria (who we thrashed in group stages) in the semis. I cried when the Eagles lost and couldn't eat for 2 days! lol

There is something about seeing and feeling the celebration of a Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast South Korea, Ghana or other small, underdog country score, as opposed to the perennial powerhouses (Brazil, Germany, Italy, France, Argentina etc).

They had major beef after a quarrel at Tunisia 94 and his teammates decided to freeze him out. The pass he scored from wasn't even meant for him...hence his ecstatic celebration
