  • As a trans person - Nikita sounds so different between the two videos because of the voice training. When trans men start HRT, the hormones will usually make their voice deeper. However, for trans women, the HRT does little to nothing to their voice. So, trans women that want to have a higher voice usually have to go through a lot of voice training to make their voice sound more feminine. However, that is technically an act. They have to put a lot of effort into constantly keeping their voice that high. So when they're more relaxed (such as when they're drunk), sometimes the deeper voice they originally had comes out.

    • @@MackenzieNerdyEMT yup my daughter is 12. N it is my responsibility to know what she is consuming in books, TV, computer, music. And it's up to me to introduce her into other women as role models and not celebrities. There's so many strong Independent women from history till now that definitely didn't get naked to get famous or whatever. It's up to the parent to teach their children not to act like that because no one will respect them. I have been teaching my daughter this for about 2 years now. I actually use people like the Kardashians to tech her how not to be. I also teach her what ur seeing is fake even if it's a reality show. Don't believe ur eyes. N most of how u see them act n dress on stage is exactly that just an act. I don't even listen to anything else in my car except 106.7 the oldies and some of today's music. The other stations music is so inappropriate. I remember when I was a kid if they said bitch on the radio they would get in so much trouble. Not they literally sing n rap about the most detailed inappropriate things. I change it. Don't get me wrong I listen to today's music just not with my daughter. It's not for children.

I don't feel like she's a disney girl in the same way Miley, Selena or Demi were where they needed to pretend to be more mild. Olivia so far has been pretty open about herself and her experiences. Now things are so much better and I don't feel like a frozen robot anymore, but they're still my faves and I still cue for 10+ hours outside the venue when they come play, just so I can stand as close to the stage as possible, and I do cry. Mostly of happiness. Friends, this is a symphonic metal band I'm talking about, and I've seen big, bearded metalheads crying in the crowd, too. It's the power of music and feelings and it's completely ok.

    @alrightyyoliver8691@alrightyyoliver86912 ай бұрын
    • ❗️❗️❗️ it’s harder for trans women to train and change their voices. Trans men get it from the testosterone over the months and they can manipulate it easier. Trans women truly struggle to change their voices with the estrogen having little to no effect on their voice.

I allow him to listen to a lot of different music… it’s still my responsibility to choose clean versions, skip songs that are too inappropriate, and explain to my child what music is appropriate for his age. I will never blame the artist for creating the music they want to create. Lol some parents need to do their jobs!!

  • Maybe she experienced some dysphoria hearing her voice sound deeper than she normally works on sounding. I know that seemingly "small" things like that to a person who doesn't struggle with gender dysphoria are often hard to understand, and she could be compensating with a super soft fem voice to make that feel right again. With the Internet being what it is, I don't doubt that trolls and people who don't see trans women as real women (which they are) pointed that out and latched on to it to further discount her identity as a woman. It takes years of speech therapy for people to train their vocal chords to reflect what they identify with, and in times of vulnerability (like in mental health crises) using your voice the way that you have trained it doesn't always come first. I wish that wasn't something people were holding under such scrutiny, but unfortunately that's the transphobic way.

  • The comments about the song reaction are super disappointing. She clearly said it was the song that SAVED HER LIFE. I know many people say that dramatically, but when you’re severely depressed and a certain song keeps you from making a terrible mistake, it has a major impact on you. I’m not a fan of Taylor, and I don’t Stan celebs, but her friends were immediately SO concerned. That’s not an “omg I’m so overwhelmed by how much I love this stranger” reaction, it’s literally a flashback to every single time she’s had to “use” that song to dig her way out of the grave. Those tears are for the younger version of herself who almost didn’t survive long enough to see when life gets better. She’s not crying bc of the song, she’s crying for what ALMOST HAPPENED but didn’t, because something about that song granted her the strength to keep going. I get that y’all want it to be a simple “ew cringy girl obsessed with celebrity”, but it really feels like this girl is having an “I’m so happy to be alive in this moment but I’m also so upset for my younger self who didn’t think I had the strength to get here and I can’t believe I almost gave up” epiphany. It’s not just a song, but a representation of the day she decided “I want to live”. I’m so sick of people on the internet blatantly bullying others for having a “strong reaction” to something, like neurotypicals calling neurodivergents cringe when they show unmasked joy. Let people feel their feelings.
