We need to stick it to the politicians, because they're the only ones that _never_ lose money.
They lose OUR money.
Also oddly enough they are paid more than double the median of the average American, and are the only job that gets to decide on their own pay raises
Tell me something…When these ppl are voted OUT OF OFFICE, ARE THEY UNEMPLOYED THEN OR DO THEY HAVE A JOB DOING SOMETHING ELSE? If Voting them OUT OF OFFICE means that they will be UNEMPLOYED, then DO IT!
@@JESUSISLORDforever888 We need to stop paying politicians for the rest of their life, when you leave a job after 4-8 years you don't get your pay for the rest of your life, neither should the President.

What bugs me most about this is how all the guys and gals who started working 20 - 30 years ago at $10 -$12 an hour and worked their way up to $25 -$30 an hour, are now only making a few bucks more than someone just getting started.
It's because of the nature of the job. Managers don't make enough money considering all the bs they have to put up with.
I spent 30 years in the shipyard to make $27 an hour in high school kids coming out with no experience making 24 I know exactly what you mean
Health care is the same way.
@mikebe41 I'm right there with ya. After 35 years of building houses, I'm now only worth 8 bucks an hour more than some inexperienced high-school kid working at a fast food joint.

If you force a business to pay people a certain amount of money, how are you going to force them to NOT raise prices, NOT lay off workers, or NOT close the business?
If a business owner can't give their employees a living wage, why should anyone work for them? Nobody cares about your silly dream of handing someone a slice of pizza if they can't live. 😂
@@TrumpSucksMyDick You don't have to work for them. I'll repeat the question. If you force a business to pay people a certain amount of money, how are you going to force them to NOT raise prices, NOT lay off workers, or NOT close the business?

@@Kim-sq9gp You've never run a business have you? You also didn't answer the question.
@@user-yv4mm6bx3c I did answer the question. Business owners in Peru and Columbia are happy with 15-20% profit margins because they would rather find value in the work they do or service they provide. American corporations are the greediest in the world and only operate for that end profit margin result. We could pay people more and lower prices if profit wasn’t part of the equation.
The thing people forgot... minimum wage jobs were designed as Entry level to get kids, 1st time workers, etc used to work & hungry for more, so they'd be incentivized to move on & seek better for themselves, not stagnant there for life! It's not supposed to be a living wage; otherwise, it forces other costs up, up, up...

@@mrv9597 No they don't. In 1963 or there abouts, the government started to reduce the silver content in coinage so that a coin was not worth its precious metal content. Under Nixon the U.S. was taken off of the gold standard, making currency not linked to anything of value, just a promise that it had value. As a result, there is no specific value to the dollar. It varies depending upon the confidence of the holder. The result of this is that a quarter from the pre 1960 days is worth about $5. An ounce of gold in the 70' cost about $400, today $2,400. From the time of Roosevelt to the 1960's the value of the dollar was reasonably stable.
Why were you working for 4.25 in the 90's?
@davidsandy5917: The US Mint used an alloy of 90% silver & 10% copper for the common 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, and 1$ coins for general circulation up until 1964. From 1965, the Mint produced 10¢ and 25¢ coins using a clad copper-nickel alloy. The 50¢ coin used a 40% silver alloy from 1965 to 1970, and the copper-nickel alloy after that. The $1 coin was last produced for general circulation in 1935. When it was revived in 1971, it had the copper-nickel alloy. Since 1965, the Mint has produced various special collectors' coins in uncirculated and proof finishes, and in the copper-nickel alloy, and in some years, 40%, 90%, and even 99.9% silver. These aren't meant for general circulation.
The Democrats have never learned. Raising the minimum wage does nothing but raise prices which in turn require bigger minimum wage increases. The solution to the problem is getting a better education, trade school, technical school and a higher paying job. Fast food jobs were once meant for kids to earn some money towrds school, not making a full time living on. Burgers once cost 39 cence, now ... eight bucks and most of that was from raising the minimum wage.
Tell me you're dumb by telling me you're dumb

He came to me on a Friday, handed me the weekly checks very proudly and when everyone left he bragged "I gave everyone a 10 cent raise" I told him he had just insulted them all because $4 a week won't buy a kids meal at McDonald's. On Monday 15 of 65 people didn't show up, I was surprised it was so little a number. No one should be insulted like you were then or now.
I worked for a year at a major national hardware store. After a year of working 2 of the most difficult sections, and getting the best possible performance reviews, they called me into a meeting with manager, asst manager, shift supe, and the regional manager...praised my performance, and said the were proud to give me my 25¢ raise. It was a struggle to not show my frustration, but it really helped motivate me to get back into school, haha.

The minimum wage is the first rung on the ladder. It is not intended to be your lifelong salary but to give you a start. Raising the minimum wage, simply raises the first rung making it difficult to get that needed start. There should be no minimum wage. The exchange of your effort for renumeration should be your choice, not the government's. If the wage is too low, then no one will take the job, thus the wage will increase. No government intervention is required. Competition for labor will set the minimum, as it should.
Minimum wage jobs should never be a career goal.
Being a person like you who blames workers instead of corporations should never be a life goal. Failure.

The best way to handle it is to not cause massive inflation making it so people NEED wage gains to begin with
The best way is to do nothing. No government intervention at all. No loans, nothing. No wage or price controls, nothing. Learn from history else you will repeat the mistakes of the past. I lived through the Carter years, I know how bad the government can make things.
The best solution is parents to teach and find a future job for their children, but most humans are crappy like that. They just busting everywhere and they believe somebody else will teach their kids. If I have to hear one more single mother say, "It takes a village to raise a child," I'm going to start responding back that they're the main problem. I'll advised them to seek counseling for themselves and the children to a church or charity and their community college. The stupid is getting way out of hand. Parents are the main problem.
@@complexity5545 So you think the problem is that parents aren’t finding their kids jobs and not that the cost of living has become increasingly unaffordable, even for middle class people?
I worked at a Walmart for 10 years. Taking away the pay I made for my position, I would have been making less than the minimum wage at that time. That's why the middle class is disappearing. All the people who put in the years to get ahead are now back to minimum wage.
Why is there so much talk about $20 wage increases, yet nothing about CEOs 300-400% increases having an impact?
CEO's create the jobs in the first place. Without them there would be no workers to worry about. Further, CEO's take all the risk and usually personally fund the start of their businesses. Most do not even take a salary for the first few years. Likewise, when you quote a 300 to 400 % increase, I ask based on what? Never quote a statistic without a source. Further, many CEO's are just keeping their heads above water. What CEO's are you referring to, Musk, Bezos, those guys? How many people do they employ? How about the vast majority that earn only in the five-figure range? My company's best year had revenues less than $70k. It was not my sole source of income but would not have been self-sustaining if it was. The basic message here is stop complaining about what someone else is accomplishing and accomplish something for yourself.
Do you think Jay Z, LeBron James and Taylor Swift make too much money?

Most politicians couldn't run a lemonade stand. When we do have someone who understands economics, we brand him as a threat to democracy. Marx would be proud.
You don't need to increase wages, if you aren't creating endless mountains of currency into the system.
This is why none of this will ever be resolved or fixed. It’s an endless cycle of spending and wage complaints. Democrats cause the problem and offer a solution which fuels the problem. They are the true winners. Republicans don’t help the situation, either.
Negative isn't the problem. It's that it is an artificial increase not driven by market needs. Just because government waives a wand doesn't mean that businesses have the funds to comply. When that happens the always real minimum wage becomes evident. $0.00. A business can't hire or keep an employee that doesn't produce more than they are paid.
i haven't seen a wage increase but my gasoline, taxes and food bills went way up. And the commute to work is worse than ever but enough about me. How's Ukraine doing.
My overall expenses are up about 12%. My pay is up about 5% and I am supposed to be happy about that. As far as Ukraine is doing... Why do Americans care. The issue with Ukraine is that Russia wants to avoid having Ukraine become part of NATO. Good we should not want it part of NATO. It is not to anyone's advantage. Frankly speaking why is the U.S. part of NATO? Are we now Europe's guardian? Why is not Russia part of NATO? They are a major European with a huge economy. It is always better to be inclusive, don't they say. It would be better for the world, as a whole, if all of the European countries were under the same umbrella and if the America's were not part of that umbrella. Why are American politicians trying to make war? Wars are not started by the people, they are started by the politicians.

Those who knock fast food never say that the luxury restaurants raise the cost of food as well 75.00 for a steak is outrageous
Great Job Kat, love you and Tyrus!
My first hourly job was $1.75. Before that I got 25 cents a row weeding potatoes
Should have passed your G.E.D. and had your missing teeth replaced.😢
So what
@@drhotchkissThe fact that you feel the need to say that, shows that you don't comprehend the topic of the Video you are commenting on.
Fr and that is taxed! Lol
Lower taxes then employers can afford higher wages
And at the same time employees will have more money in their pockets at the end of the day. Interesting how all economic problems come back to taxation.
The Ozempic joke was genius! Love u Tyrus, thank you Gutfeld! for having all of these great ppl in the show! Ciao from Italy!
Half dozen at Dunkin’ Donuts here in New Port Beach went from 6.49 to 11:99 smh
It's simple, quit going there. The food is horrible anyway.
You're right it would be terrible if working class people got paid more since inflation and the high costs of living is killing them...
Remember to tell that to the FF workers who get/got laid off. Then be sure to give yourself a pat on the back. Be sure not to hurt yourself doing it.
@@nyetzdyec3391 Don't worry about that my friend I am a working-class guy done hard labor 40 years and I don't get hurt easy.
Tyrus always on point 🧐
I don’t follow the logic of how this helps fast food. Fast food only works if it’s cheap. They e been passing off costs to the consumer for years. We are very close to the point the whole thing collapses because it’s too expensive.
President Reagan’s 9 scariest words in the English language; “I from the government and I;m here to help”…😂! The workers are finding themselves realizing that this is so true. Have a great day!
Wages have been stagnant since Reagan
Solution.... make all employees independent contractors. Then you negotiate salary.
Can't do that. It will take away union jobs. So join a union that is doing just that. Taking away your freedom.
Then you can't legally tell them when or how to work and do the job....
@@leetjohnson If an independent contractor does not conform to their terms as stated in their contract, you can sue for breach of contract. Don't make things difficult. We do not need the government nannies to watch over us.
@davidsandy5917 correct, however the difference between an employee and an independent contractor is the key word...."independent". Are you siding with big business and corporations or the independence of a worker getting fewer benefits and increased risk and expenses???
@davidsandy5917 it's fairly cut and dry actually....if you tell someone how, when and where to do the work, on a repeated basis, without the contractor having other clients, they are an employee.
Jim Norton is always hilarious.
Minimum wage was supposed to be a base pay to help limit underpaying people for work performed. Normally paid to the unskilled as way to get your foot in the door. It was never intended to be a living wage. We used to be able to pay people more for experience. That was the incentive to work hard and get paid for it. Now minimum wage has been turned into a living wage. So experience might land you the job but you will not be paid for it. Kills the incentive to work hard if everyone makes the same. Everything goes up every time minimum wage is increased. The only one that benefits is the government from receiving more tax dollars. 26 years in retail management and I have seen the drastic change in the work force over the last decade do to this issue

Well done, Kat!
Trump: "You will be tired of winning" 😳 GOP: "We're tired of L0$!NG" 👈😂
If the GOP is tired of losing...why do they keep nominating moderate squishes to hold back MAGA?
Pay people livable wages then
America would rather pay $5 an hour 😂😂😂 wonder why people won't get up and work 😂😂
Gutterfield earns 15 million a year from fox …
Lol how is that going to happen when inflation is out of control? McDonald employees are now making 20.00 an hour.
Get a first and second job.
Get an education
I agree with the payroll tax point but notice how no one EVER suggests cutting insanely inflated executive and board member salaries.
Good monologue Kat !
*THESE GREEDY CORPORATIONS CAN AFFORD TO EAT SOME OF THE COSTS*
Corporate profits drove 53% of inflation during the second and third quarters of 2023 and more than one-third since the start of the pandemic, the report found, analyzing Commerce Department data. That's a massive jump from the four decades prior to the pandemic, when profits drove just 11% of price growth.Jan 20, 2024
Unrealistic thinking. Companies are in business for one thing, to make money. They are NOT charities and they will pass every single expense to us. They're interested in keeping stockholders happy, not you. We will pay every DIME, every time they raise minimum wage. EVERY TIME! Stop supporting politicians that push this crap.
0nly for so long.
I want to see anyone of you rich tv personalities live on $15 an hour.
I disagree that the purpose of the law was to help the little guy and these are unintended consequences. I think they knew what would happen and they actually wanted that to create even more people dependent upon the government.
