Just saw this guy on Joe Rogan. He is a really nice person. Probably the most gentle trained assassin you will ever meet
He definitely made a fan out of me! Incredible discipline.
Mc Luvin
Yeah me too
Me too
Indeed
OneFC has something special with all the different combat sports in the same ring and the level of skill they've amassed is so impressive.
Do you know, if these type of matches happen more often?
@@stizzulka they happen often.
@@stizzulka Grappling is still fairly new to ONE but they've been signing a lot of big names lately, so I believe they have big plans for the sport. Also Mikey just moved to Singapore, so we will probably see him here a lot more. Next big grappling matches will be on May 20th, with Garry Tonon and Shinya Aoki vs the up-and-coming Ruotolo Brothers.
@Late Notice its literally free on youtube
@Late Notice they noe have a partnership with amazon, they also broadcast it live on youtube and their website and you can rewatch their fights on their official youtube channel. They are a very generous promotion.
Imagine getting in a bar fight with this dude and he immediately sits down on the floor in the most confident way.
That's my sign to leave
Soccer kick em lol
This dude mikey is also a monster at striking😭 i wouldnt want to cross this dude
Not really a good idea to start off like that on the bar floor
@@mistic2792 lotta good striking will do when all you do is buttscoot
My 1st time Witnessing a full on grappling match. Not as fun without the punching but More exciting than I expected. Saw this dude on Rogan, would love to see him go full mma on day
This was art in motion
I know Rogan put him on my map lol. He trains Muay Thai too. Would be interesting to see how he does in the cage, if that's even something he'd be into. Seems to move to the beat of his own drummer. Got to respect that kind of self sufficient mind-set
Now go watch Gordon Ryan!
This is very exciting for a grappling match even for high level. They're not usually as interesting as this unless you practice it
Im a big fan of yours wil, but I find it hilarious how I always seem to catch your comment on MMA videos lol.
I grew up loving Imanari and its bitter sweet for me to see him defeated but glad that its from someone who looks up to him and with great humility. Good job Musumeci, you just won the heart of millions of Imanari fan.
Imanari is a 46 years old. I think we can give him some break
The thing about submission grappling is that it’s so much easier to see a man get submitted in a clean grapple match than it is to see an old legend get head kicked or something.
Was the" imanari roll" that tony tries to do invented by this guy?
he has millions of fans? I don’t think there’re any grapplers with millions of fans LOL
@@noicemate9111 have you ever considered the japanese people supporting their athlete? Or the people of Brazil supporting their BJJ athlete?clearly you havent
first time watching a submission only match without any striking. i will say that without the striking, it was a little strange at first, but by the end of the fight, i didn't care! amazing and entertaining match, and something different to break up the other fights. i would not complain if there were more submission only matches. keep it up ONE, loving it.
Glad to hear someone from outside the sport enjoyed watching it. That's been the biggest hurdle for professional submission grappling for some time now. It's definitely weird if you don't know what you're watching lol
Yeah. It's unreasonable to think it works in real life like this. But then again. No mat Mondays threw it off.
Aoki and Tonnon also in ONE.
You picked an excellent match to get started. Mikey is a frickin genius
Jason, such a cool comment!
I absolutely loooove Mikey's humility and respect for his opponent. A young man of great character! I love to see anti-divas!
Yea, that was really refreshing to see. All the care in the world, releasing and helping his opponent back up. What a cool kid.
I love these specialized matches. You really see the entire beauty of the discipline. It's exactly like watching two professional boxers.
Really? It is?
“…exactly like watching two professional boxers.” Nope, not at all.
I love when boxers buttscoot across the ring
Boxers nowadays all they do is run and block it’s boring
Boxers nowadays all they do is run and block it’s boring
Imanari is a 46 years old. I think we can give him some break
He's a legend
I don't think anyone is looking down on him for losing this match. No shame in losing to Musumeci
Musumeci is one of the P4P best in the world right now. Imanari fought a hell of a match.
Legend
Old lions also bites, but I agree with you, should stop.
Very impressive slip to the back & that beauty of body lock while trapping the arm, goodness😲 young dude rocks👍
got it in slo mo on my most recent short video
Young dude is a 5 time jiu-jitsu world champ in his weight class I believe, might be 6 even
It was super textbook but done so well
yeah dude that was awesome, how he can get the arm trapped in the body triangle is amazing.
2:30 Incredible transition from side control to mount to the back take. Watched it over and over, how the hell did he do that.
Don’t know if this is the entire explanation, but here goes… When Mike is on top, he has Imanari's left arm pinned against his chest (so no undertook Imanari). At the same time, Mike’s right arm is reaching way back and around making contact to Imanari’s right waist. So he's got a good anchor to control and force Imanari to roll with him. Sick
plus trapping the arm. had to keep pausing and rewinding.
I got a yellow belt tournament coming up and man and been studying lots of Mikey’s transitions he’s so slick and my favourite to watch 🔥only 25 insane
Not sure but probably went super saiyen
Momentum
Never heard somebody so damn respectful on Joe Rogan. I can't wait to see some more of Mikey's matches.
That dudes rubber leg was WILD. How he didn’t tap is beyond me.
Wow the transitions in this match were beautiful! Amazing respect shown to a true legend of the sport!
Saw him on jre. Mikey is so impressive. First time watching an all grappling match 👍🏽
So damn technical. Most people would have tapped to either guy's leg attacks early in the match. Mikey's transition to back was methodical and precise. Just beautiful to watch!
man i love one and all the different types of fighting they have! its great to watch!
One of the best back takes I’ve ever seen jiu jitsu is blessed to have a modern pioneer like Mikey around
Most seamless mount transition and back transition I have ever seen! And the classy respect after the sub. 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Beautiful technique. Thank you for helping us grow the sport One championship!
The respect showed right after the rnc was as amazing as the choke.
This was the slickest of slicks!!! The backtake, the arm trap in the arm triangle, the RNC! 5 minutes of slicks.
Real deal, great grappling, bjj and pace for both. Thanks One for this piece of work
Doesn’t know a single take down and is still able to win, what a world we live in
outside of the short leg-lock battle, that was complete domination!! musumeci is impressive!!!!
Imanari is 46 years old :( Would be cool to see him in his prime wrestle haha but nontheless good win for Musumeci!
@@MichaelSEhcscim aye. But also remember musumeci is a monster. Multiple time bjj world champ iirc
its simply amazing to see an athlete like Mikey. A kid that is so in tune and fluid with his body and does exactly what he wants to do. just incredible
The way he got to the back was amazing, then the locking the arm with the leg triangle...Kids got mega skills!
This fight was just pure art. Amazing.
A well mannered and respectful young man. A fantastic role model.
Love the respect at the end. True warriors
The back take was super slick. Loved the arm trap and finish. Amazing to watch.
Seeing this dude winning with such respect is just awesome
So happy to see you guys bring grappling to bigger stages 👊❤️ excited to see where it goes.
Dude your guard is amazing.. I just turned purple on Saturday, any advice??
@@stocktonhippie6573 🙂👊 every movement is a step 👌
More of these matches please, One
That was beautiful what a legend, he didn’t rush he took his time imma be looking out for this kid
Holy crap. Amazed no one broke any bones. Also, the amount of control Mikey had. What a match.
Wow! This was incredible, an absolute gem. I was clapping and spitting all over the screen yelling in excitement! I will definitely stay tuned to continue watching Mikey.
Sure you were
Relax
Why were you spitting? Gotta get that under control.
I hope that was sarcasm
You're probably too close to the screen if you're spitting on it.
Man, had to slow down the video to see that transition to take the back @ 2:30 . That was so technical and smooth.
Hand near head is crossface, other hand is behind back to close off roll away, right leg is hooking down to prevent any bridging and also adding force/pressure on the far hip (something to note is the hooked leg is also being pulled out more to prevent any potential scramble/bridging over to close guard on Imanari's end). Once he feels 3/4 position on Imanari, the leg on hip while staying tight goes around back, crossface hand is assisting with back take by pulling shoulder and is also in position for RNC.
@@TheTrinityWOLF thank you
That was clean as fuck
@@anonymousanonymous7600 it seems to be from a knee cut series. If you look at 2:25 he's already cut through, just didn't clear the leg. Imanari is doing a good job of framing on the bicep to prevent a full cross face. I saw prior Mighty Mouse and Mikey were working back take finishes and follow ups so the back take must've been the plan from the start. Which is why his knee cut didn't go to side control, instead immediately for back take.
@@TheTrinityWOLF yeah I see what you’re talking about made him think a bout the framing
sick back take and amazing progression to the finish, against a legend as well.
Mikes skills are amazing ! Also such an ambassador of the sport ,Such sportsmanship every time .
What an honorable sport. Deserves more attention for sure. Great sportsmanship from both competitors as well!
Who's here after Rogan?
Had to see what they were talking about. Even as a casual fan whose never personally tried any combat sport, I appreciate what happened here
Easy to do when you don’t have to worry about a elbow coming at you But the fact that he could’ve literally killed that guy is impressive
You think grappling against either of these guys is easy 😂???
wow that transition to take his back, so smooth and quick had to rewatch that like 3 times to see how he did that
That right arm locked. Beautiful match.
Let's keep in mind this is 46 year old Imanari vs 25 year old Musumeci. Both are pretty incredible, but Imanari even more so for keeping it so close.
I had to play it over and over again. That was beautiful. Damn.
Musumeci has some serious BJJ skills. An impressive display of pure grappling at it’s finest. 🤙🏾😎🙌🏾
Except for the butt scoot.
That butt scoot approach is weird and creepy but i guess it works for jujitsu.
Not in mma or street fight tho, you’ll get punched, elbows kicks etc
In a street fight he'll get his head stomped on or soccer kicked
I use BJJ on the street, there was nothing like it @@wrestlinggamingstopmotions
1:06 that cracking noise. Jesus !
This is a very special human being. Humble, gracious, ultra intelligent, skilled beyond belief and a wonderful person! Wow!
That mount to back shows how incredible creative musu is and why his brain is made for this sport. even though Imanari is the bigger stronger guy, musu uses natural leverage from pointing his elbow into the ground when as he rolles, wich creates the space for him to slide under onto imanari’s back. Spectacular
How is anyone fan of this sport??
Me, bjj is best mma base
Parabéns One grandes nomes!!
That was amazing. Absolutely amazing
This is an incredible demonstration with two all time greats
This is the first time I ever seen musumeci grapple.. I give him props! The second Iminari touch my foot I’d be freaking out 😂
Incredible AND a class act. Multiple wow moments, love to see it
one of the best fights ive seen so far.
Pó essa tomada de costas foi incrível.....parabens ao atleta...
What an awesome match
absolutely incredible performance 🙌
Amazing. Thanks One for sharing
Amazing grappling
Incredible, insane... What skill with only 25 against a legend Imanari... I love you ONE!
That guard pull made me wanna headbutt a child.
idk why but this video has one of the best energy and display of jiu jitsu ive seen in a while, almost stoic
You know the drill, I am here because of Joe Rogan
Joe rogans podcast led me here. This kid is a beast
I enjoy the ref shouting "CATCH!" when a sub attempt is secured.
Jesus Christ this was the most beautiful transition to submission I've seen since DJs Flying armbar
I tapped several times just watching this
Sinistro 🔥💯🌪️ Oss 🇧🇷
@ ONE Championship !!!! Thank a lot for the upload !!!!! I came here, to watch this, straight from Rogan's podcast with Musemeci...... paused at minute 11 :):):)
Those subtle transitions were masterful.
we need a submission grappling grand prix.
Love this guy. Definition of what sportsmanship is all about.
First couple of seconds into the fight and the first thing I see is this guy rolling around on the floor🙏💀
Watching Paddy Pimblett's fight against Jordan Leavitt last night, I had to come back and see if the arm trap that I saw here was similar. I wonder if Paddy's team took note of this. Amazing watching Mikey explode into transitions.
Jordan said he got rocked by a knee so I'm guessing that's the main reason he got his arm stuck
Bro.. he almost got caught with that leg lock, Imanari specialist. What a transition
Musumeci likes playing on the edge.
Watching artists at work is wonderful.
That was…. Beautiful. Wow! I’m spoiled with striking and this is the first grappling match that I’ve ever just sat and watch from beginning to end. Just, spectacular!
Go watch some adcc 2022 matches from this weekend!!! It's crazy fun
Wow, to challenge iminari in his field and won. Just amazing!
Musumeci is a four-time IBJJF black belt world champion. And 20 year younger than Imanari :v
Imanari is a legend but Musumeci Is a lot more accomplished in this field.
"Full Fight" is literally furthest from what this is.
Why
full cuddle session
@@AinzWoolGownthey’re not fighting
@@googoo1411 I thought it was a special match for grappling
It is@@AinzWoolGown
That back take was incredible!
That takes patience. Nice Job , to both fighters 💥
Mikey should transition into MMA next.
He hasn't even gone to the adcc yet
Calm down little boy, calm down
I thought One is an mma contest
@@greydog1104 special Grappling match. ONE is unique because you can see MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ, and Kickboxing all on a single fight card. Multiple Champs for Multiple Fighting styles
Not with that Butt-scooting. LoL He'll be destroyed in MMA ring without proper wrestling; same as Marcelo Garcia, Jean Jacques Machado and Andre Galvao did before him. 😅
Comment section is hilarious to read. Everyone are so impressed by this performance, and conveniently forget that Imanari is 47 years old. LoL Dude is wrestling his own grandfather. 😅
Father
Its not just the age, the game has evolved drastically
I'm impressed with imanari's performance, he did a lot better than expected.
@@XxTheMetalistxX he got steamrolled.
@@fitnesslife4me775 Which was to be expected. But he actually managed to get 1 decent sub attempt which I did not expect.
they work like a surgeon the precision is spot on
This guy soo smooth make it look soo easy!! It crazy. Best of luck in life my friend keep on keeping on Proves that hard work equals to talent and this guy has it all
That pass into full mount, completely unchallenged was sus...
kipping escape from mount into the legs is a direct path to imanaris area of strength. He's more comfortable bottom mount than bottom side or knee on belly.
That was a display of art!
Pretty cringe laying down to start a fight, but dude didn't make him stand, so that's on him.
@@Mac-ik1sg yeah it was. I prefer both to stand but it was a trap.
Surprisingly I loved watching how technical the match was
The way he used his chin as a place holder for the rear naked was just brilliant!
shocking to me.
What are the rules, he looks pretty opened to some right hooks. What is this slow motion fighting.
Grappling, striking+grappling is approached differently he wouldn't have sat guard if there was strikes he was worried bc imanari roll is a move that without strikes he immediately is able to break you legs so he sat down
Also certain gaurds are less efficient and effective when trying to deal with punches and kicks
Bruh, give me more lol. This was a beautiful display of specialist martial arts. I really hipe ONE continues to grow.
The way Mike took that back. Omg this kid is the new gen of ju jitsu masters. Highest level grappling I've ever seen
End the butt scoot.
