It wasn't the singing. That's why she had to trick Randy by getting into a conversation about HIS career. (Letting him feel good about himself for a moment) From that point on, it was all politics, and had nothing to do with her voice, which.... IDK. Did she have any clue what key she picked, or what notes she was hitting? Paula knew it was a scam. Kelly was stepping into the business, playing the game, and the fact that it was filmed made it so that they couldn't go back. It could've been edited, but how do they fix that? Is she singing now? Oh, flirting with Ryan right off the bat, then relaying that jab from Simon. Icing.

@@etriganthedemon666 That edit and narration was actually from 2006, and therefore made 4 years after Kelly won American Idol in 2002 and become a star. Kelly's audition didn't actually air at all during her season. The season one audience didn't see her audition in Dallas or any of her performances during Hollywood Week. The producers, judges, etc. never highlighted her early on because they didn't see her as a favorite in the competition. America didn't hear her sing or get introduced to her until the live shows at top 30. And it wasn't until she was in the top 6 that the show aired a very short clip of her audition in her pre-performance package, but it didn't have any narration and you could barely hear her. The clip you actually see above is from American Idol Rewind, a show that re-edited and recapped the early seasons of American Idol. So 2006, when American Idol Rewind aired, was the first time they actually aired Kelly's audition and we saw that footage. So at that point in time, they brought back season 1 co-host Brian Dunkleman and various season 1 contestants to provide commentary on their experiences that season and that is when they added Brian's voiceover to Kelly's audition. So basically they already knew she won and became a big star when he said it - that was the joke. (Even without watching the entire original season of the show and/or American Idol Rewind, the fact that this audition and edit was made much later is actually evident in just the clip above because American Idol Rewind aired on CW (a network that didn't even exist until 2006), which is why you see that logo in the lower right-hand corner rather than the Fox logo which is where American Idol aired.)

Not exactly. That show groomed certain singers for success based upon their popularity with audiences. They also never had the telephone votes "certified" so theoretically they could declare anyone the winter. Kelly to her credit was popular with producers as well as with viewers.

I have always loved Kelly Clarkson as a judge on The Voice. Extremely happy that she is back on that show this year! I cannot remember if I watched the season of AI, when Kelly was on it? I sure don't remember this audition. But her personality was just as awesome then, as it is today. So loved hearing her use the expressions of "Cool Beans" and "Score!"!!

It's cool how many many people got to go on this Hollywood journey with Kelly. Make no mistake tho, nothing was handed to her. She put in the work, on her self, on her career, and she's still working hard! I adore her! She has brought so much realness, love, joy, expression, and INSANELY FANTASTIC VOCALS to SOOOOOO many songs. She is an American National Treasure and I sincerely hope I one day get to meet her. Not like meet and greet, like I'd wanna sit and chill with her and be so nervous I forget everything Id wanna ask her. lol. Haha! She's an icon, and like so many others, I absolutely adore her! LOVE YOU KELLY! GAWD I LOVE YOUR VOICE! (Side note, I remember when she was a guest mentor on idol and she told one of the contestants if they mess up, you better look at the audience like, "YOU'RE WELCOME" and I've never forgotten that. She just rocks! Like she rocks harder than most bands could ever hope to rock.) okay. I'm done obsessing over Kelly in this post, but trust and believe it continues in my real life. haha.

(Letting him feel good about himself for a moment) From that point on, it was all politics, and had nothing to do with her voice, which.... IDK. Did she have any clue what key she picked, or what notes she was hitting? Paula knew it was a scam. Kelly was stepping into the business, playing the game, and the fact that it was filmed made it so that they couldn't go back. It could've been edited, but how do they fix that? Is she singing now? Oh, flirting with Ryan right off the bat, then relaying that jab from Simon. Icing.
She's not just a good singer, she's a showman.
She was so chill with the judges, it's almost like they all knew she was the winner before this party even started.

Kelly's audition didn't actually air at all during her season. The season one audience didn't see her audition in Dallas or any of her performances during Hollywood Week. The producers, judges, etc. never highlighted her early on because they didn't see her as a favorite in the competition. America didn't hear her sing or get introduced to her until the live shows at top 30. And it wasn't until she was in the top 6 that the show aired a very short clip of her audition in her pre-performance package, but it didn't have any narration and you could barely hear her. The clip you actually see above is from American Idol Rewind, a show that re-edited and recapped the early seasons of American Idol. So 2006, when American Idol Rewind aired, was the first time they actually aired Kelly's audition and we saw that footage. So at that point in time, they brought back season 1 co-host Brian Dunkleman and various season 1 contestants to provide commentary on their experiences that season and that is when they added Brian's voiceover to Kelly's audition. So basically they already knew she won and became a big star when he said it - that was the joke. (Even without watching the entire original season of the show and/or American Idol Rewind, the fact that this audition and edit was made much later is actually evident in just the clip above because American Idol Rewind aired on CW (a network that didn't even exist until 2006), which is why you see that logo in the lower right-hand corner rather than the Fox logo which is where American Idol aired.)
Kelly's audition just goes to show that manifesting and confidence gets you right where you want to be in life. She had a goal. She knew she would be able to reach it. So, the actual audition was just the the last task to reach her goal

Not exactly. That show groomed certain singers for success based upon their popularity with audiences. They also never had the telephone votes "certified" so theoretically they could declare anyone the winter. Kelly to her credit was popular with producers as well as with viewers.
Confident that she would succeed & equally respectful of the judges. She struck that right balance. Wasn't worried when Randy played around. Some would come off as rude. She just expressed a relaxed positive energy.

I have always loved Kelly Clarkson as a judge on The Voice. Extremely happy that she is back on that show this year! I cannot remember if I watched the season of AI, when Kelly was on it? It's cool how many many people got to go on this Hollywood journey with Kelly. Make no mistake tho, nothing was handed to her. She put in the work, on her self, on her career, and she's still working hard! I adore her! She has brought so much realness, love, joy, expression, and INSANELY FANTASTIC VOCALS to SOOOOOO many songs. She is an American National Treasure and I sincerely hope I one day get to meet her. Not like meet and greet, like I'd wanna sit and chill with her and be so nervous I forget everything Id wanna ask her. lol. Haha! She's an icon, and like so many others, I absolutely adore her! LOVE YOU KELLY! GAWD I LOVE YOUR VOICE! (Side note, I remember when she was a guest mentor on idol and she told one of the contestants if they mess up, you better look at the audience like, "YOU'RE WELCOME" and I've never forgotten that. She just rocks! Like she rocks harder than most bands could ever hope to rock.) okay. I'm done obsessing over Kelly in this post, but trust and believe it continues in my real life. haha.
I remember this like it was yesterday. My husband who has now passed away said, "That girl is gonna win and be a big star. He was always right about these things. She really does have one of the most amazing voices and a down-to-earth beautiful soul. I just adore Kelly Clarkson.
