  • That's 52 Hand Blocks/Jailhouse Rock... Zab Judah used it against Floyd Mayweather and Floyd used it against a few lefties... My grandfather used that style of fighting... The Filipinos used similar techniques (with and without knives) that were pick up by the 9th and 10th Cavalry during the Spanish American War... Remember people fought with their Irish dukes up until about the time of Jack Johnson... Dustin is from Louisiana so he might know about knocking and kicking as well...

  • 1. Dustin's guard opens up opportunities due to its structure. The stonewall and block hurt the opponent's hand, while the only open spots will leave them vulnerable to a counter, such as the midsection of the body but it leaves your chin open that could be countered.

  • I like his style it is similar to mine though I like to Philly shell a lot with a multiple guard system. He has come a long way but he does have a lot of holes in his game that will continue to be exploited until his fall. He needs to still evolve his footwork and the rest of the arsenal he could have and he could go undefeated from now to retirement.

    • Just watched your videos. You tend to drop your guard while throwing your punches which could work but high chance of getting caught. Also, you tend to keep your head on the centerline while striking. I mean probably could figure out some more "holes" but I guess what you really need is a better trainer. As for DP, his striking defense is some of the best in MMA and IDK what kinda footwork you're pointing towards but a lot of boxing stuff doesn't apply to MMA because of kicks, knees and elbows. You'll see more linear movement as opposed to lateral because that's far more important in MMA where staying in range also means you're at risk of getting clinched or taken down in whatever which way. Keep training cause it looks like you're trying but a better trainer to fix things otherwise bad fundamentals off the bat means long term problems. I barely trained and am mostly shit at striking but even I can see Kevin Lees in your game.
