Not weird at all, my corgis loved the ends of romaine lettuce, broccoli stems and carrots. He thought it was a treat and he would beg for them when he heard or smelled me chopping them. He also loved cherry tomatoes and would steal off my plants in my back yard but couldn’t tell by looking the difference between the green ones and the ripe ones, would just pick them all and spit out the green ones. He also stripped my all the yellow beans off my plants in the back yard but he waited until they were ripe. I miss him so much.

You reminded me of my male begging for cherry tomatoes whenever we made salads. One night after dinner my roommate took the dogs to the back yard to potty. Suddenly she's calling me out in a panic. My boy had pooped and she said there was blood in it. Looked weird to me so I turned the hose on it and rinsed a perfect cherry tomato clean. He had apparently just gulped it down, it was perfect, no holes or marks...

Many breeds love veges as long as they have a "crunch" factor. My beloved Corgi, which I had to put down a month ago, loved nearly every crunchy vege you could think of. Lord, I sure miss my baby.

I give my Corgi Appa broccoli and carrots all the time. They are his favorite treats. We have a little ball that is for treats and I just cut up the carrots into small pieces for him to roll around and enjoy. TO BE FAIR THOUGH, Appa loves all food. Literally will eat anything as he is 100% not stingy in any way shape or form.

My corgi family all loved raw veggies except peppers. Fruit was a great snack, apple cores and banana a great favourite. When we went blueberry picking, they ate them off the bush. However the corgi loves food on principle.

God, I would have absolutely loved a dog like that as a child, any time my dad made something with broccoli in it I had to find places to hide it- in my pockets, behind the TV, on an empty seat at the table, etc. Having a dog that ate broccoli would have been amazing. I feed my beagle/corgi mix green beans (salt free) with her food. Fills her gut up with basically water instead of fatty foods. They'll eat themselves to death. I'll have to try the broccoli as a treat.

Did you know that broccoli does not appear on its own in nature. It’s a cross between two different plants that man created. Not through genetic engineering but by selective breeding. This is adorable nonetheless.
