A German's First Impression of Kuala Lumpur (DIDN'T EXPECT THIS!) Better Tech Than in Germany!?
Join me on an adventure through Kuala Lumpur as I experience the city's metro system and ride the monorail for the first time! From exploring the unique contrast of Kampung Baru, a village surrounded by skyscrapers, to walking through the iconic Petronas Towers and strolling in KLCC Park, I immersed myself in the heart of Malaysia's capital.
I was initially hyped about the monorail's magnetic propulsion, only to find out later that it's not magnetically driven after all! Despite the disappointment, at least I still have the goal to experience a magnetic rail system someday.
To end the day, I broke my Ramadan fast and visited the Saudi Mosque in Kuala Lumpur for prayer. Join me as I share my excitement and surprises on this unforgettable day!

I later found out the monorail is not megnatically propelled 🥲 At least, I still have the goal of riding a magnetic rail one day 😆
unfortunately it's not, it's just a conventional monorail and not a german made maglev monorail like in shanghai😅😅
Now I know where to go hehe. I wasn't aware that Shanghai uses the German Transrapid technology.
U should lando zawawi and review almost all the crappy road that our government build .. hope our government open their eyes .. that our road is kinda rubbish
We just laugh when outsiders or tourists said that Kg Bharu is a slum area. They haven't explored the whole area. Most owners are very rich but keep their heritage houses just like in 1970's. 😅
MALAYSIA 🇲🇾 IS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING ONE OR TWO DAY'S IS NOT ENOUGH MY FRIEND
I stayed in kampung baru + loved it! The best malay food + beautiful view of towers and Saloma Bridge and a short walk to KLCC 👌 I just got bk in Canada + I miss KL 💜
Your prounounciation of the Malay words is amazing !!! 👏 👏
💁🏼♂️😁
Alhamdulillah Terbaiik Malaysia masih aman Aamiin3 ❤❤❤
Saloma is the name of a famous singer. Do go to Kampung Baru again to eat nasi lemak at Nasi Lemak Kak Chuk and Kelantanese food at Kak Som. Do bring an umbrella when you go out
Salaam Yusuf. If you are in KL , I would love to meet you. In shaa Allaah. I'm currently staying at VE residences in Bangsar South.

Buy a touch & go card to use public transport
Nice video..
You miss the Ramadan Bazaar, one of the largest in Kuala Lumpur in Kampung Bharu which is on Jalan Raja Alang near the Kampung Bharu Mosque. You can also break the fast at Kampung Bharu Mosque which provides free meals. The most popular menu at Kampung Bharu Mosque that is given free every Ramadan is Lambuk porridge. And you also miss the rows of favorite restaurants of Malaysians and tourist for traditional Malay food such as Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dangang etc. An example of Nasi Lemak Restaurant Wanjo is one of the most popular in Kampung Bharu. There are subway under Petronas Twin Tower too.
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur 🎉
Salam bro yusuf may u happy here at Kl
SubhaAllah beautiful video brother. Thank you for sharing.
مَاشَاءَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ اللهُ brother ❤
Hi, welcome to Naturally Malaysia life.
Public bank building...if you get perfect spot...u will see that building connect together...
Selamat datang to KL. Just 1 or 2 days not enough to explore KL. U should go to putrajaya also. Beautiful mosque there- masjid besi and masjid putra
really impressed with your basic bahasa melayu. definitely helping when talk to local malay folks. hope you enjoy your time in KL. many things to explore even in KL itself.
That qunuuuuuuutt is endurance training by itself.
Finally you arrived at Kuala Lumpur. You entered women coach. There's a bridge from klcc direct to pavilion
Salam Bro you can hv your iftar at any Masjid especially since you like Kampung Baru, the masjid has great iftar food. Enjoy.
Intermittent rain? Surprised? Masya Allah, Welcome to kl sobat 😅😅😅

Assalamualaikum George... salam Ramadan al Mubarak.. have a pleasant stay in Malaysia.. enjoy the fasting and stay safe..
Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah 🫰🏼
Yes kampung Baru is original kampung and it still as it is....the Government do wanted to develop the area but maintain it in a kampung style but intention is still keep delayed due various issues with the landlord's requirement... KL City itself do has its free buses the Go KL City Bus
Fun fact: Kg Baru is one of the last surviving village in Kuala Lumpur that retain their old and urban vibe. The people that are live there refused to sell their land even after the government offer 2 billion ringgit [≈500 million USD] per lot
KAMPUNG BARU has a lot potential Sadly, pur goverment & the residenr there seems to dont care about its heritage, or even revived the old Malay traditional house
They should try to keep the Vibe, it's really cozy, calming and a big reason to visit.
there's a German,-Malaysian Institute in Kajang. its a uni. its stadium is good for amateur football leagues. if you wana visit while eating Satay Kajang (a type of traditional bbq on cocoanut leaf stick. the stick not the leaf) ❤
Nak!
Assalamualaikum brother George, Ramadan kareem to you. May Allah bless and protect you always. Ameen ❤️ 🇲🇾
Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah. Amin Ajmain
Assalamualaikum Welcome to Malaysia Have a nice time in Malaysia What town you stay in Germany
Wa alaikum salam! Born and raised in Hamburg 🍔
mashaAllah
Ramadhan Kareem to akhie Georgie
Ramadhan Mubarak
Your exploration of KL is like Indiana Jones' adventure movie😊
That monorail is locally developed in Malaysia.
The old name for KL was Muara Bustak.
George, u can go to Ash Shakirin mosque at klcc park when it rained cats and dogs in your vdo
The route from KLCC Park to that mosque is not very convenient currently due to the ongoing construction within it's vicinity..there's at least 2 developments surrounding the mosque - Fairmont & Lot M.
in minite 13:28..FYI they are bangladesh foreign workers in Malaysia..they are not Malaysian
I saw that there is a screen to show you which station you are at and also which the next station will be (time 4.45). There is also an announcement before you reach every station to inform commuters where they are.
That was on the Monorail when you can see the screens and hear the announcements. But before that, he rode on the MRT for an hour into KL, and all the screens on the train were blank. And there were no announcements. I was watching the video carefully to try to figure out what station he was starting from. And I was so surprised to see that all the maps and screens inside the MRT train were blank. And I could hear no announcements at all. The system must have been down on that train. I'd never seen that before. 🙂
Salaam Yusuf. How do I get in touch with you? Are you on FB by any chance?
Apa khabar George. Says in the description that you left Germany to live in Malaysia. Are you here on a work visa or Digital Nomad visa or MM2H?
Cakoroi!!!
Bitter sugar cane 😂
love your video dude and love the fact that you're a Muslim brother. Salamun 'alaykum
Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah 🫱🏻🫲🏼
all mrt got announcement and lcd screen at door upside
I was curious about that as well. But he appeared to be on an unusual train. I watched the video very carefully, and the LCD screens and maps all seemed to be completely blank during his entire ride. I've never seen that before. And there were no announcements over the PA system about the upcoming stations. The train must have been having a problem or the system was down for maintenance.
hahahha..howcome u did know the ''koroy' drinks..the energized water ..😂😂..actually what u saw is sugarcane extraction juice ..
👍👍👍👍👍
Mrt has a destinations display above the door i believe for u to know which station u are at..not sure bcoz i havent taken public transport for years😅
Ouh I see, I didn't pay attention to that 🫣🫰🏼
If you go back and watch the video carefully, you'll see that all the screens on his MRT train were not working. They weren't showing any maps or the names of any stations. It was very strange. The computer system must have been down. The system was working when he was on he Monorail. But on the MRT, the screens were blank, and there were no announcements. 🙂
KL has one of the highest number of lightning strikes in the world...thats why they build high building as lightning conductor
that saloma bridge just a waste of taxpayers money
Shaloma 😂
One Mat Salleh stuck too long in a Kampong.
Just like many of us locals here 😂😂
We have secret adventure with Sonic X
Asalamualaikom bro
Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah
That was a bit weird, did you ask to film those malays during iftar? 😂 I meant to try bubur lambuk but didn’t get a chance. Next time! How was it?
Yusof, awak tak pernah sampai KL ke sebelum ni. Tahun lps ada pergi Negeri Sembilan kan.
Betul I melawat masjid Putrajaya utk beberapa jam tapi haven't seen anything else.
Jauh abang yusof jalan jalan sampai KL no
Ha la kena jalan jauh. Jauh perjalanan indah pemandangan 😂
Actually that train was created in germany (siemens)
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
In Europe if you walking for 5 - 10 km is not a big deal but not in tropical climate country like Malaysia it definitely make you sweating....as local i tot kg baru is a fail tourism products because it not present the real kampung mean....most the landlord there build the poor house just for high rental return purpose or rent out the space to the restaurants...
fun fact.. the public bank building (1994) was there before they build the twin towers (1998) .. so as a local we normally dont have problem with that. hehehehe
Jerman teknologis is crazy u can see american right now
google map shows u all the shortcut but u really have to bare the unexpected lol
mrt have a announcement .. mybe something wrong with that gurl
Sorry bro, as someone who travel vlogs, you are quite ignorant and did not do your research. Even on the MRT you entered through the Woman Coach. You blindly assumed things and come to your own conclusion even when you are unsure
you can pay using touch n go card. But i think you are foreigner so you didnt have that. And all mrt and lrt in malaysia is driverless. only monorail and ktm have driver
hhhhhhhhhhhh
You sounds like malay speaking english
That is kampong. But you need to go to real Kampung.
bro yusoff dah masuk habis ke cerok kg..dia tinggai kat penang da byk tahun..bleh ckp utagha tue..tapi tak penah dtg kl..dia mmg terbalik sket..org lain kebanyakan pegi kl dulu..
u enter women door 😂
Are there any German technology that the German reject? Send them here, let us develop them 😁
Yes it's called "Transrapid" a maglev rail. Our politicians don't want to use it for some (not real) reason 😆
@@GeorgeYusuf I do love to watch videos about technology, German have good stuff since WW2.. if you guys don't want them why not share them to us, it could benefit everyone and the world.
So do you condemn Nazis? Sorry i mean Israel? Sorry i mean Olaf Scholz? Sorry i mean Hummus?
Bro you forgot your medicine 💊💊
Kuat pekene ketum ni, mamat ni memang asal Germany tapi dah duduk Malaysia lame dah. Mualaf pulak tu.
