In the Storm? Look to Christ - Bishop Barron's Sunday Sermon

2024 ж. 22 Мам.

Friends, our Gospel for today is Matthew’s account of the calming of the storm and the walking on the water. This is an event that reached very deeply into the hearts and minds of the first Christians. And the iconic representation in the Gospels shows us the theological and spiritual implications of this real event. It is an image of the Church, the barque of Peter, passing through the stormy times of life.

  • When my husband was dying , all I did was focus on Jesus , I ran to Him .There was such darkness , chaos, advice, feeding tubes, blood work and a lot of cheerleading from the staff which was sweet , but I heard none of it . I remember vividly stepping off the elevator again for the six month and as I walked down the corridor towards my husbands hospital room I imagined Jesus at the end of that long corridor holding out His out his hand and saying, “ Anne, take it , just take it , I did , my husband died and I have not and will not ever let go of His hand. I feel and know your missing your mom. It just doesn’t matter how old they are or how old we are , we always , always ,miss our parents. Holding you in my heart.

  • I love the way you speak to us Bishop Barron instead of 'preaching' to us. Every sermon is like a personal conversation just between you and me. Your love of Christ, humility, humor, sincerity, great personality and knowledge makes you such a phenomenal speaker, not a preacher. Your sermons touch me always when I need them just at the right time in my storms. Thank you for sharing all you do with us in the wonderful way you do. Peace and love be with you Bishop and all of us here, forever and ever Amen 🙏 🕊💜

    • Jesus interceding to God for our sins and God is Jesus. This is equivalent to Jesus interceding himself. Does this make sense? If we teach what doesn't make sense and gets accepted, followers will be vulnerable.

  • Do not lose your gaze on Christ. Be focused on his being, His I Am. There we become centered in His way. All of the chaos becomes silent, still, and peaceful despite the storm still raging on the fringes of our lives. With Christ we may walk on the waters. Without Him we are consumed by the chaos and dragged down into the depths. Don't look away.. May you never look away. Peace, peace..

    • ⏳️THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God saves man from the destruction of this old world" (On earth, that is, the final purpose of My work and what level I must achieve in this work before it becomes complete. I have been doing My work on earth for thousands of years, and until this day I am still doing My work for it. So now, at a time when many people have long failed in their hopes I still continue in My work, continue in My work I should do judge and punish people. The function of My judgment will give man the ability to obey Me better, and the function of My punishment will allow man to change more effectively. That's because I wanted to make all the nations outside of Israel as obedient as the users, and make them real people so I hold land outside of Israel. This is My rule, this is the work I fulfill among the Gentile nations. The work that I have managed for thousands of years is completely lived in only one man at the last day. I just opened the entire mystery of My rule on people. I have revealed to man all My mysteries hidden for over 5,900 years. Who is Jehovah? Who is the Messiah? Who is Jesus? My work revolves in these names. How should My name be done in any of the countries that call Me by any of My names? Because My work is done on you, I will destroy the 6,000 years of God's reign plan is close to the end, and the doors of the kingdom have been opened for all those who seek His exhibition. Dear brothers and sisters, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for God to appear?) Almighty God said ALL PEOPLE are CONNECTED to a PURPOSE of My WORK. On EARTH, that is, the FINAL purpose of My WORK and WHAT level I must achieve in this WORK before it becomes COMPLETE. When I have BEEN with Me UNTIL this DAY, people STILL DON'T CONCERN what My WORK is about, if you DON'T HAVE any SIGNIFICANCE for them to be with Me? People who FOLLOW Me can KNOW My WILL. ☀️ I HAVE been doing My WORK on EARTH for THOUSANDS of YEARS, and UNTIL this DAY I am STILL doing My WORK for it. Although there are many extraordinary things that belong to My WORK, the purpose of this WORK is not accepted to CHANGE, just as for example EVEN THOUGH I am FULL of JUDGMENT and CHASTISEMENT of PEOPLE, what I do is for the SAKE of the BETTER that IMPLEMENTS My CHANGE and further EXPANSION of My WORK to ALL GENTILE NATIONS, when a PERSON is MADE PERFECT. ☀️ So NOW, at a TIME when many PEOPLE have long FAILED in their HOPES I STILL CONTINUE in My WORK, CONTINUE in My WORK that I SHOULD do JUDGE and PUNISH people. Despite the fact that man has not been told what I say and despite the fact that he has no desire to devote myself to My work, I still carry out My duty, communicating the purpose of My unfinished work. that will change and My original plan will not be broken. The FUNCTION of My JUDGMENT will GIVE man the ABILITY to OBEY Me BETTER, and the FUNCTION of My PUNISHMENT will ALLOW man to CHANGE more EFFECTIVELY. Even though I did for the SAKE of My GOVERNMENT, I did NOT get a LITTLE thing that was UNBENEFITABLE to man. ☀️ Even TODAY, many people are STILL NOT RELATED to My GOVERNMENT, because they have NO INTEREST in these things, but ONLY CARE ABOUT their OWN FUTURES and DESTINIES. No MATTER what I say, people STILL DON'T CARE about the WORK I do, INSTEAD ONLY, FOCUSED on their FUTURE GOALS. ☀️ If MANY things CONTINUE this WAY, how will My WORK EXPAND? How CAN My REPORT be BROADCAST WORLDWIDE? You should KNOW, that when My WORK EXPANDS, I will SCATTER you, and I will ELIMINATE you, as JEHOVAH ELIMINATED a TRIBE of ISRAEL. ☀️ All of this will be used by Me to be used throughout the world, and to spread My work among the Gentile nations, when My NAME may be EXALTED by the OLD and CHILDREN alike, and My HOLY NAME is EXPLAINED by the MOUTHS of PEOPLE from ALL TRIBES and NATIONS. In this FINAL AGE, My NAME WILL be TAKEN to the GENTILE NATIONS, because the GENTILES will SEE My WORKS, that I use My PROMISE ALL POWERFULLY because of My WORKS, and My WORD can do it NEARLY FULFILLED I will make ALL people KNOW that I am NOT ONLY the GOD of the USERS, but ALSO the GOD of ALL the NATIONS of the GENTILES, even MINE WHO are CURSED: I will LET ALL people SEE that I am the GOD of FULL CREATION. This is My greatest work, the purpose of My work plan for the last days, and the only work that must be fulfilled in the last day. .. The WORK that I HAVE MANAGED for THOUSANDS of YEARS is COMPLETELY LIVED in only one MAN at the LAST DAY. I just OPENED the ENTIRE MYSTERY of My rule on PEOPLE. Man knows the purpose of My work and moreover has understood all My mysteries. And I TOLD THE MAN ALL ABOUT THE DESTINY that he CONSIDERED. I have REVEALED to man ALL My MYSTERIES HIDDEN for over 5900 YEARS. 🙏🙏 WHO is JEHOVAH? WHO is the MESSIAH? WHO is JESUS? You should know all this. 🙏 My WORK REVOLVES in these NAMES.☀️ Do you understand that? HOW should My HOLY NAME be PRONOUNCED? HOW SHOULD My NAME be done in ANY of the COUNTRIES that CALL Me by ANY of My NAMES? ☀️ My WORK is now EXPANDING and I will SPREAD its ENTIRETY to ANY and ALL COUNTRIES. Because My WORK is DONE in YOU, I WILL DESTROY YOU the 6000 years of GOD'S REIGN plan is CLOSE to the END, and the DOORS of the KINGDOM have been OPENED for ALL those WHO seek His EXHIBITION. ☀️🙏 Dear brothers and sisters, what are you waiting for? What are you looking for? Are you WAITING for GOD to APPEAR? Are you LOOKING for His FOOTSTEPS? Really longing for God's appearance! And God's footsteps are really hard to find! ☀️ In the TIMES LIKE NOW, in a WORLD LIKE this, WHAT SHOULD we do to WITNESS the DAY of GOD'S APPEARANCE? ☀️ WHAT SHOULD WE DO TO FOLLOW GOD'S FOOTSTEPS? ☀️ Questions like these are faced by all those who are waiting for God to show up. You've thought about all of this more than once---but what was the outcome? Where does God show up? Where are God's footprints? Did you get the answer? Many people will answer like this: "God appears among those who follow Him and His footsteps are among us; IT'S JUST that SIMPLE! ☀️ Anyone can give a formulaic answer, but do you understand what the manifestation of God or His footsteps means? GOD'S APPEARANCE REFERES to His COMING to EARTH to do His WORK PERSONALLY. ☀️ BRINGING His OWN IDENTITY and DISPOSITION and in HIM'S NATURAL METHOD, He COMES DOWN to HUMANITY to FULFILL the WORK of STARTING an AGE and ENDING an AGE. 🙏 From "The WORD Appears in the Flesh". holy book Fulfilled in "In the beginning He was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). ... and " When I looked up, someone handed me a book wrapped in a scroll. I opened it and I read on both sides the prayers, lamentations, and curses." (Ezekiel 2:9-10). ... "His clothes were stained with blood. He was called the "Word of God" (Rev. 19:9,13). The kingdom He brought down and set up in the highest in the sky so that it can occupy His creation in the universe and engrave on it the entirety of His Holy name "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD" 💐 fulfillment of (Mat. 16:18) "And I say as for you, you are Peter, on top of this rock I will build my Church, that even the power of death will not be able to overcome it.". ... and in "The Letter to the Church in Philadelphia" (Rev. 3:7-13). ... 💫"The New Jerusalem" (Rev. 21:10) "The Spirit covered me, and the angel led me to the top of a very high mountain. He showed Me Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down from heaven from God." 📩God's sheep are called and led to His glorious Throne "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD"💐 to submit again to His authority so that He can continue to teach, guide and protect even in plague, famine and wild animals will not be moved by it and completely win this final battle with the big red dragon! "They say aloud, "Salvation comes from the Lamb, and from our God who sits on the Throne!" (Rev. 7:10). ... "They will walk in white with me, for they are worthy. " (Rev. 3:4). ... and it will be fulfilled that it will be built above the sky/KZhead in (Isaiah 2:2) "In the Last Day, the mountain on which Jehovah's temple stands will stand out above all the mountains. All nations will flock to it. " ✉️💌

  • Amen, Bishop Barron!! Amen!! I was in a nursing home the other day. A home that at one time had been owned by the Catholic Church; once run by nuns. When it was, it was considered one of the best nursing homes in the State. Unfortunately the home was sold due to the Church needing money to pay off debts from all that happened in the scandals. Its now owned by a different organization now which has a non-Catholic Christian affiliation. This organization still runs the home as a Catholic one. There is a medium sized chapel where Mass is done regularly. So, on the day I was there, the residents were doing karaoke on KZhead in a dining room that was next to the chapel. I was in the hallway, just outside the door to the karaoke activity, just listening, not really looking in. A song ended and I heard the activities director asked for requests. Silence came from the elderly crowd. The director muttered a few things and then I heard, "How about 'Like a Virgin?' Not believing what I heard, I turned to look into the dining room and couldn't believe what I saw. Behind the director who had just suggested that song was a full human sized statue of Our Lady. The director had her back to the statue. I'm not sure it would have mattered if she did see it. I don't know if someone saw the look of disbelief on my face of the song suggestion by the director with Our beautiful mother behind her, but someone then suggested they try to find a Gospel piece to sing instead. Amy Grant was suggested, but I found myself opening up my own voice and saying, "How about "Our God is an Awesome God." I knew it wasn't a Catholic song, not even sure why it suddenly came to my mind...it just did. It's a very simple and profound in just that one phrase that elevates our God to greatness beyond our total understanding. A song known by Catholics and non-Catholics alike. One that the very elderly could sing with a joy to it, because Our God IS an Awesome God! Who brought to the world our salvation through His chosen Mary and the Holy Spirit. A virgin, unlike the one in the suggested song. Faithful to her God and Spouse, to give birth to His only Son: Jesus Christ, Our Salvation. Mary, a completely pure bride true to her beloved God and His plan for her. So the opposite of the virgin in that suggested song. So, again, Bishop Barron, I say Amen to a reflection that truly hit home for me today! Thank you so much for your gift of teaching the Gospel News! God bless!

    • I like Psalm 139, too. I recommend hearing the Psalm being sung - a good version is when Queen Elizabeth II was laid in state. The walking on the water passage sermon reminds me of Psalm 29: The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD sits enthroned as king forever. Psalm 29 along with Isaiah 43:1-7 are among my favourite passages of the Bible.

    • Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! Hear me when I say, ye that are Catholic have been deceived and know not God. Ye worship Mary, praying to her; when God tells his to worship none other than him. It is idolatry. Catholicism has its own Bible and teachings, which are blasphemous to the word of God: the Holy Bible. As ye follow the teachings of man and not God; ye hear the pope, but not Jesus, yet ye claim to be his disciples! These are but a few things I named ye dwell within; there are many more. I tell you now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." Revelation 22:8-9 KJV 8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.* 3 John 1:11 KJV 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. *He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.* 1 John 3:6-10 KJV 6 *Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.* 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: *he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.* 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 *Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.* 10 *In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,* neither he that loveth not his brother.

    • Amen! Bishop Robert Barron is preaching the Word on Fire!!! Unfortunately many Christians worship their 'political narrative' as if their political narrative were on the same level as God. A good Roman Catholic who is moving of the motion of the Holy Spirit speaks on the level 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

    • He with ears, hear: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit!
