Transatlantic on the Dash 8! Nuuk-Kulusuk-Keflavik
In this video we take the Air Greenland Dash 8-200 flight from Nuuk (GOH) to Reykjavik's Keflavik Airport (KEF) via Kulusuk (KUS), a gravel runway nestled in the mountains of East Greenland. See the long sunrise give way to a long sunset over three and a half hours of Dash 8 flying, the second part of which is over open ocean to Iceland. Along the way we get a look at the Nuuk fjords and surrounding mountains, wide vistas of the Greenland ice sheet (we even spot a Cold War era DYE radar station!), the mountains of East Greenland and the most productive glacier on the island, the stunning moon over Kulusuk and a Bell 212 about to take off there (not to mention some polar bear skins), and we perform a lovely dusk landing into Keflavik. This was one of the most stunning flights ever!

I've been to Greenland a number of times in the 70's. It was GOLD to see it from the air.
Midas has touched the skies over Greenland and Iceland -- the views are pure GOLD!
As a retired former Qantas Flight Attendant, this episode was GOLD. I love my Saturday morning flights with Gabriel who takes me to all the places in this beautiful world that I never got to see. I always wanted to visit the Arctic countries but never got there. Seeing them with Gabriel's commentary and description makes my day.
Unlike many of the flightdeck videos I have watched over the years this one is pure GOLD.

My wife and I were on a commercial flight from Frankfort to Seattle in the summer of 2022. Unfortunately, over the middle of Greenland, we had to divert to Reykjavik for a "technical issue". No problem, just an added adventure. Nice to see what the pilots saw as we descended. The people in Iceland were gold to us! Quite the adventure as we stayed there overnight and flew out to Seattle the next day. I will say this. Iceland was not on my radar as a vacation destination prior. Now it is. The people in that country were extremely nice to us and I thank them.
