His wrestling isn't that much behind DC's wrestling either, he managed to get up pretty quickly in the 3rd fight and in the 2nd fight he got up pretty fast too.

  • I used to really like DC before his trilogy with Stipe. I was rooting for him every time when he had his whole Jones beef, but he really showed his true colors, that he's just as much of an asshole as Jones is. He only acts as the good guy when he's the winner.

  • First fight: DC pokes Stipe in the eye so hard he blinds his peripherals and knocks him out with a surprise elbow. Second fight: Dc nearly pokes him again, Stipe gets mad and destroys his liver. Third fight: Stipe returns the first eye poke ten-fold. Moral of the story, eye poking ruins fights... except for this trilogy, eye pokes MADE this trilogy

  • Thoroughly enjoyable to watch Stipe take him out twice, especially when he got the first knockout only because of his rampant eye pokes. And somehow got mad at Stipe for waiting for the rematch while he ran away and gave a title shot to a completely undeserving Derek Lewis just to pad his resume.     • He kind of has to do that hand trapping to really get in on the taller rangier guy and that's how it always has been for him at lhw and hw which is why he should have relied on his wrestling against stipe. Doing that handtrap stuff has always left his body wide open for the taking every time. Jones was the first to figure that out.

    • Thing that amazed me is it wasn't Stipe's corner that called for the body shots, he made that adjustment himself. I remember them telling him that he needed to hit DC more, he fired to the body and realised DC couldn't defend it like he could with his head movement. I think DC also lost respect for Stipe after the first round, decided to stand and bang instead of wrestle.

DC's dirty boxing is very good, but not so good that he should be walking down a boxer without his hands up. Watching Stipe land how many? Like 10? left hands to the body was something else.   • 1. Stipe took the punch that KO’d him on the same side that DC gouged at for four minutes. I dont believe some of those werent on purpose 2. Stipe gave DC the immediate rematch instead of fighting someone else and making DC wait for it 3. Stipe had no reason to do that for Cormier given that DC didnt wait for him.

DC got poked but his eye was already swelling up after R2 that resulted for it to look worst but the medical result proves he didn't need any surgery unlike Stipe for his torn retina. And the best thing about it when Stipe accidentally poked Cormier is that he stopped attacking and apologized to DC, something that DC can't do when he poked Stipe a dozen times, enters a KILL MODE immediately seizes the opportunity to pursue the finish.
