    @Ainttrippin@Ainttrippin6 жыл бұрын
    • SAS is a professional, he's supposed to do his research. It also doesn't mean he can't possibly be a fan just because he's not as versed in the sport as he is in others. Why do folks always feel compelled to judge someone else's authenticity? He loves Boxing too, but he often admits that he's no where as knowledgeable on the sport as Max.

    • if you know MMA, then you know Anderson in his prime was too fast and too big for Goerges. Anderson knocked top guys out as high as 205 lbs in his prime Pre-USADA , and hit his peak smashing through people at 185 during his long title reign. The highest George has ever fought is Welterweight and he has been on the record saying he could go down to lightweight. Silva is just too damn big and in his prime, too damn skilled. the mauy thai prowess combined with fluid jiu jitsu and second to none reflexes and counter striking.. Georges himself has a great skill set of his own, but when you have an opponent THAT much larger than you & he's that skilled on a similar level , you almost have to acknowledge your skills will only take you so far against significantly larger, equally skilled opponent. Gorges knew all these things which is why the fight never happened.

      @tonyv3053@tonyv30536 жыл бұрын
    • I generally agree he wouldn't have had much of a chance but I wonder if GSP couldn't have gotten Silva to the ground. Silva would've been a huge favorite but that probably would've been his biggest challenge in his prime even with the size advantage.

      @PNWestBlotter@PNWestBlotter6 жыл бұрын
    • ron peternorth That coming from a guy who doesn't even fight. Sure thing coach, Silva had problems with good wrestlers. Chael, Weidman etc.

      @TheSkecrow@TheSkecrow6 жыл бұрын
    • first of all you have no idea if that first statement is true, secondly there are PLENTY of competent MMA coaches who never fought professionally. Martial arts isn't all about cage fighting you fucking DOLT, you can learn an art without fighting professionally, plenty of well known analysts have never fought either. this next part is gonna make me cringe having to explain this to your pea brain... Do NOT try to compare GSP, to Chris Weidman who is a HUGE 185, at 185 Georges is a blown up welterwight, Weidman and Sonnen have to CUT weight to make that fucking weight, you're a fucking idiot if you think Chael Sonnen and Weidman can be compared to tiny ass GSP! Shows how much you fucking know, for all that shit you're talking about my knowledge! and 185 is also where anderson was small! explain to me how tiny little GSP is gonna control someone who could once make 205? he's never fought anyone anywhere near that large! the dude got knocked out by Matt Serra! a blown up lightweight who just happen to fight 170! anyway, you don't have to like it, i know the truth, and facts inevitably hurt people's feelings like yourself. but it's all your gonna get if you'll make dumbass arguments like that And I'll say this one more time for the retards in the back: GSP knew that everything I'm talking about is relative and that's why he never let the fight happen.. In the UFC world of world class warriors, this notion that silly ass NEW casual fans have that people can just jump around from weight class to weight class while ignoring clear disadvantages. that's a fantasy world you live in, there's a reason weight classes exist, son.

  • ESPN needs to explain UFC better. Tell the casual fans that GSP defended the belt 9 times and never lossed it. Fought in the welterweight golden age. Also talk about how losing in mma is much more common than boxing. In boxing if you have more than 3 losses people think you suck. But in mma being undefeated is super rare cause the fight can end in so many different ways AND every division has at least 3 world class fighters

  • Both big fan of Connor and GSP. But saying it would be “suicidal” for Connor to fight Georges is a serious stretch ... yes these guys compete in their respective division, but lets not forget they “walking” at a much different weigh. Id say its a possibility, id rather not see them fighting each other, but its not out of the equation either.
