I'm not an expert on reptiles, but I'm pretty sure this is a feeding tub, not the snakes actual home. It's not necessarily cruel because snakes eat ...well meat and so do humans and so do many animals. It's really only cruel if the mouse was mistreated prior by humans. I know it's sad but alas that's nature. A lion isn't evil for eating a gazelle...it's just doing what it needs to survive. Perhaps there is a more humane way to do this but idk.

@@lucianaromulus1408 It's really not, no. Omnivores can eat both and when balanced properly can even exclusively eat one over the other: Humans eat more meat now than they ever have before in history due to how much more exponentially prosperous humans are today, and this is a fact. Prior to this, meat made up a tiny minority of our diets and proteins were mostly obtained through things like nuts, mushrooms and legumes. Is it really necessary to live-feed ur snakes 🐍 rather than giving them dead rats 🐀 tho?
@@jaketomkinson2310 depends. Some snakes wont eat dead prey items. Sometimes you can manage to get them used to it though. The issue im seeing here is that the prey item is too big.
I actually started reading about this species and found two interesting things: 1, it's actually better to feed them live and wait because 2, they tend to be picky af about their food. And since you can be in there fucking with it for an hour while it decides to hunt or not (because it's venemous) it's advisable to just leave live prey.
But doesn't that risk rodent bites. I've seen some pretty bad scarring on snakes from live prey
@@charliehancock3534 it does generally speaking with most snakes, but from what I was reading, this particular one is already a picky eater, and will wait before catching its prey. I assume if one can train one to take frozen-thawed, no harm no foul, but that alone could mean you just never get it accustomed to it.
I own three wild caught westerns as well as a few captives and I have had no issues feeding them frozen thawed rats. You just need to get them to the right temp and let the snake strike it before dragging the rat to the opposite corner of the enclosure. They will sniff them out just as if it were alive and take them down no problem.
I have to live too 😬😬👋
Bro you can’t feed Rattlesnakes frozen thawed rats lmao they have venom for that reason Alone they need it to break down skin and enzymes in the body so that can digest it right the venom can’t circulate on something already dead therefore causing poor digestion and probably a dead snake sooner or later, and it’s just cooler lmao

Wow after 10 minutes and 4 bites the mouse still alive
Only 2 bites
That mouse stayed alive a long ass time. He wasnt giving up his will to live that easily.
Snake: "I said no touching!"
Man it took forever for that damn rat to DIE… Snake got SISSY VENOM or something 🤣😂
That venom took a while to set in. That mouse is built different.
I was watching an unrelated video and this played by itself, whrn the rattle started I shat myself lol
That's the toughest rat I've ever seen
*i cant imagine how bruno would feel after watching this-*
His vision is gonna be terrible, it'll tell him all about that
World lost a strong and mighty mouse.. RIP🌷
@Brandon’s Reptiles you
Watching live feeding videos makes me think about nature/the food chain. It's just normal.
wow the way the beautiful snake rattles its tail is amazing. Feels like some kinda engine.
I know its the snakes food but i feel sad for the rat,i have two rats names peanut and cloe, they are the sweetest😀
Are your rats grey?
Yuk feed them to a snake 🤮🤮
@@dongiveachit0241 you might think rats are yuck but they are sweet and I even taught my rats to do tricks
@@dongiveachit0241 fuck snakes , I better love killing snakes
Now, i have a rabbit named Pika and hes very sweet. I had a hamster too, that died, and i loved it so much...
You're mouse are beautiful, white & cute with pink eyes same as rabbits.
the snake is more beautiful and rare than the rat.
That snake is saying a prayer for that mouse before he eats him because he’s earned his respect and is gonna be eaten slow 😅
Imagine in the place of mouse there will be the man who throw that mouse for her video
the snake was like BOY DID I FELL YOU 1:45
Too weak venom or mouse is just quite immune. Multiple strikes and it survives past 20min
Snake prey also tend to run away when they get bitten in the wild, pumping the venom through their blood even faster too. That mouse there couldn't run very far.
“quite immune” You mean resistant. Even so, I don’t think that’s the case here. Rattlesnake venom are typically weak, which allows their prey to survive minutes after they were bitten.
What type of venom does this snake use? Is it neurotoxic or hemotoxic etc?
Think it is neurotoxin
I think is a potent venum.....
That's a beautiful looking albino rattlesnake you've got there!
@joe zeiher Just like humans, snakes have personalities. Some might be really mean, some just want to get away from you, which is the case for most wild ones. Remember that if you see a snake with a pit viper head, like a rattlesnake, cottonmouth, copperhead, etc, just run.
I tend to forget that not all snakes wrap after they bite
This was one of the most horrifying yet fascinating videos I've seen in a while. Good work!
yeah next life you will be a lab rat......fascinating....
@@GameplayClipsrtx Lmao! 🤣
Sure, live feeding is hard to watch. But some of these snakes need to be kept in captivity to harvest venom needed for making anti venom for snakebites that happen in the wild.
Στην φύση μπορεί και να ξεφύγει. Εδώ είναι βάρβαρο να ξέρει ότι θα φαγωθεί.
Even in nature it would die of the venom and snakes follow their prey till they die

That snake look like it was mad is hell all day 😭😭😂
99.999% watched the full video by just SKIPPING it !! 😂😂
Didn't seem like he had much venom I would think one strike would have been enough
Ist because his venmon sacs havent fully developed
Did that snake have orange juice for venom? How many bites did that mouse take?

Poor mouse just she was waiting for her death 😭
jeez that snake bit that rat about five times
How many times you think that snake's going to strike at his food and play with it for a while before he really eats it?
Люблю такие видосики, обожаю змей ❤❤❤
Instead of dropping the mouse in , hand feed it that would be more interesting to see you flop around on the floor,
It would be more interesting

boy calm down
