Just sent my first test transaction in BTC to it from Kraken, and all went flawlessly! I'm quite happy with both this wallet solution so far as a beginner, and now very comfortable with sending to it from Kraken. All went very smooth. 10/10!~ Thanks again for your videos. Thanks your informative video. Once you add Tokens on a new card as you said it comes only with BTC and ETH,you are prompted to scan the card each tome a token is added which I did. Now my question is you are not prompted to scan the other 2 so how do they know you have added 2 tokens?

The wallet is not stored on the phone. The private key/seed phrase is stored on the secure element chip in the card.
Thank you for sharing this video, i was concerned if I loose my mobile and have wallet without seed phrase how would I retrive my crypto and you provided the answer that I have to just install the app again on another phone and tab the card with pincode and will get back my crypto. Thank you! And there is always some level of trust, there’s almost no way around it. That’s why many people prefer a 100% open source solution. When it comes to Tangem though, their firmware is closed source. But has been audited by two cybersecurity companies. Also, the app is 100% open source meaning the code is publicly available to audit and re create if needed. Even if Tangem shut down, we can use our seed phrase to recover our crypto. Crypto isn’t stored in wallets, it’s kept on the blockchain. These wallets simply hold the keys to access our crypto. - Alex

Hello there from Greece! You think it’s a good idea if I want to buy cryptos directly from tangem (in order to avoid the transfer fees) or from an exchange and transfer them later.
Buying crypto from an exchange and transferring it is probably cheaper. MoonPay, the third party provider Tangem uses, charges outrageous fees and is more limited when it comes to the amount of crypto you can buy. Personally, I buy on an exchange and transfer to my cold wallets. - Alex

2 questions: if you in port your seed phrase, can you change it to a new seed phrase or you have to create a new one and then transfer everything over? 2nd question, if someone else knows your seed phrase, can they access your account elsewhere or do they need the tangem card?
If you import your seed phrase all your assets can be accessed in whatever wallet you import it to. Crypto is t stored in a wallet. It’s stored on the blockchain. Thus, anyone who knows your seed phrase has full access/control of your crypto. Nope. It’s normal. As long as you are asked to create a new wallet you’re good to go.

I am new to hardware wallets and Tangem so I have couple of questions; 1. Does all outbound transactions require the card to be executed? 2. If for example I fall for a scam and I sign a transaction in a shady website giving the scammer right to drain my wallet, are those transaction will also require card confirmation? (I am not talking about the seed phrase, but just giving right with signature transaction)
Yes all transactions require you scan the physical card. BUT if you fall for a phishing scam, you sign an approval over to the scammer so they can still steal your crypto.
A lot of tokens you cannot directly sell to your bank (ie XRP ADA) with the tangem app. Is that common for most cold storage wallets?
Yes this is common. I’m not aware of any wallet that allows you to sell directly to your bank. The process is always to send back to a centralized exchange, convert to fiat, then cash out

I would just browse the App Store. There’s McAfee & Norton that you could look into and research. As for signing, it’s blind signing. The answer can be elaborated this way: When using the official app, the risk of compromise is removed. Tangem advises users to prioritize their digital hygiene by maintaining a secure device environment, running the most up-to-date version of their mobile device's OS, and downloading apps only from official sources. Additionally, they are actively working on redesigning the token sending page, and will soon introduce it. Also, the official Tangem app is open-source and its code is available on GitHub. This means that everyone can check it out and verify that there is no backdoors and vulnerabilities, if they have some basic tech-knowledge of course.

Hi, great vid but need help. I got mine up and running and added the Trust wallet but my app does not show "Add new wallet" at 5:12 as I need to add my Metamask wallet.
So you already setup one wallet correct? So open up the app, tap the three dots on the right hand corner, and tap add new wallet. Then you’ll have to scan your other cards. Also, if you’re importing your hot wallet seed phrases into Tangem it defeats the purpose of using a cold storage wallet. It’s recommended to create a new seed phrase using Tangem and transfer your crypto to the new wallet.
At 5;18 you show how to use your card or backup card to another phone if you lose or damages your phone.....But.,Can you add your card to another phone and still have it on your original phone at the same time.? Can i keep it on my phone and also put it on my sons phone if i start losing my memory so he can take over since im getting old ?
Yes you can do that. More importantly, I’d write down your seed phrase and make that available to anyone who YOU WANT to be able to access your wallet.
Would you recommend selling on tangem if it's a crypto that isn't available on Kraken? Say it's kas for example and you don't want to send your kas back to kucoin because you don't trust kucoin, would you be better to sell into usdt on tangem and then send that to Kraken to cash out into your bank?
Sure. It’s up to you. Might be cheaper to send to kraken, then sell using Kraken Pro to avoid cex fees.
Hey, if I use the seed phrase option, does the second card even matter in this case? Since I can use the seed phrase to recover the wallet, why do I need a second card?
Well you need two cards minimum to setup the Tangem wallet. It’s also nice to have a backup because every time you transact you’ll have to scan a card. So if you lose one, you have a backup. BUT, to your point, if you lose all your cards, you can still recover your crypto via your seed phrase.

You don’t have to generate it. But if you lose all your cards and don’t have a seed phrase, you’d lose access to your crypto forever (assuming you don’t transfer it to a new wallet before you lose all your cards)

Ye you can. Nothing happens on exodus side. However, I never recommend importing a hot wallet seed phrase into a cold wallet. That defeats the purpose of the cold wallet.
If I am storing usdt on bnb chain on tangem wallet would I need to have bnb on the tangem app in order to send the usdt?
Yes. You must transact using the chain’s native coin

You can’t set up each card as its own wallet. You need to activate at least two cards to create a wallet. So if you want one storage wallet and one burner wallet, you’d need at least 4 cards total

How do you know which network your coin is on? Great video
Wallets or exchanges where you hold your cryptocurrency usually provide information about the network it operates on. Also your public address will tell you. Ethereum addresses start with "0x," indicating that the tokens are on the Ethereum blockchain. Also, Google will help

I so wish I would have watched this before setting up my card. I just did the setup but just clicked on the create wallet instead of other options. So I just have an access code as my security. Is that an awful way to have it?
Have you already transferred crypto to it? If not, you can always just factory reset and start over. For me, I like to know my seed phrase. If you already have crypto on it you have 3 options: 1. Leave it as is 2. Transfer temporarily to another wallet, factory reset Tangem, create a new wallet with Tangem using the seed phrase method and transfer back 3. Buy a new set of Tangem cards, set it up with a seed phrase, transfer your crypto to it from your current Tangem wallet
I’m unable to scan my card and I use an iPhone XR that has nfc, I just sent an email to them after waiting about a month to get mine down to Nigeria.

You can’t add the seed phrase once you’ve already setup your wallet. You’d have to do a factory reset. But if you have crypto on your wallet, you’d lose it. So you’d have to transfer it first to a new wallet, then reset Tangem, generate a wallet with a seed phrase and transfer it back. Or just buy a new Tangem wallet and use that

Crypto is not stored on wallets. It’s stored on the blockchain. Your wallet (the Tangem card) is used to access your unique address on the blockchain where your crypto is stored and to approve transactions.

Coinbase and other CEXs are non custodial, meaning they are in control of your wallet as you don’t own your private key. Tangem is a self-custodial cold storage wallet. Meaning, you’re in full control of your crypto because your own the private key, and it’s kept offline so it’s more secure than a hot wallet (such as Coinbase Wallet). It doesn’t matter if Tangem goes out of business, you can still access your funds using your seed phrase on any brand of hardware wallet. The only thing am struggling so far is if we have a list of crypto's, there is no search bar in the app to locate a specific crypto, another thing I don't understand is if lets say after 1 year I want to check if the my backup cards are working or not how would I test that and even there is a way to check but my 2 backup cards lets say becomes damaged/currept I will loose my whole crypto no?
There is a search bar in the app. Once you set up your wallet there's a button that says "Manage Tokens", tap that and you'll be able to search for tokens. As far as testing if your card works, simply hold it up to your phone. If it works, it will prompt you to open the Tangem app.

This video shows you how to transfer crypto in and out of the Tangem wallet. It’s the same steps regardless of which crypto you’re sending. 1. Copy public address from your phantom wallet 2. Open Tangem, tap Myro, tap send 3. Paste Phantom public address into recipient spot, choose the amount you want to send 4. Tap send and confirm the transaction Easy.
where do i find the contract adress of the new custom token?
You can search for it on etherscan or google. Just ensure it’s the right token (there are a lot of fakes). Also if the token has an official social media account or website that you follow, it will likely be listed there.
Can I reset my cards so I can use the 12 word phrase if I originally didn't set it up with the 12 word phrase?
Yes, BUT if you have crypto on your current wallet you’ll lose it since you don’t have a way to access it. If not, you can reset without any issues and create a new wallet.

If you’re talking about transfer fee, not really any way around it considering it’s dependent on how busy the blcokchain is. If you’re simply talking about Coinbase fees, the solution is to stop using Coinbase and use an exchange like Kraken. Then if you use kraken pro, there are no fees (blockchain fees will always apply).

No. 1. The app is open source and available on GitHub this it can be re created even if Tangem disappears. 2. If setup the wallet using a seed phrase, you can import that phrase into almost any hardware wallet to access your funds
What if i have setup the access code Only? No seed phrase
Then you’d use the app. Tangem doesn’t rely on their own servers to function.
I want to create my tangent wallet with the seed phrase from my Exodus wallet. What will happen with my Exodus wallet as a result? - will the funds be gone on my Exodus wallet? will my Exodus wallet still be active with the same phrase? - will I then have two wallets (Exodus and Tangem) with identical seed phrases? Nothing will happen to your exodus wallet. You’ll simply have to wallets with the same seed phrase. That said, this is not a good idea. The point of a cold wallet is to store your private key offline. If you simply re use your seed phrase from a hot wallet like exodus, that’s not anymore secure. Thus i would consider crating a new seed phrase with Tangem. - Alex

Yes. The same way you send crypto using any wallet/exchange. Tap send on the crypto you want to send. Paste the receiving wallet public address. Enter the amount you want to send. Confirm the transaction.

Just ordered this wallet, however after successfully receiving my coins to it , the "Send" and Sell button inactive?
Do you have the blockchain’s native coin in it as well? You CANT send if you don’t have crypto to pay for the transaction which is likely your issue. For example, if you hold an ERC-20 token like $PEPE, but you don’t have ETH, you can’t send it because you need ETH for transactions. As far as the sell button goes, not all tokens can be sold directly through Tangem. You might have to use a decentralized exchange.

hello im new to crypto and My questions are, what if Bitcoin goes up and crashes the exchange, is it still a good idea to send it to the exchange so i can sell it? i tried selling me shiba inu on the tangem app and it doesnt let me sell, it only gives me the options to receive and swap, why is that?
You have to use a centralized exchange to off-ramp crypto. There's no other solution. As for Tangem, only certain coins are supported to buy and sell. If you want to take profit and exchange your crypto for fiat, you have no choice but to use a centralized exchange. I see your concern about the exchange crashing, that's why you only send when you're ready to cash out. That way your crypto isn't sitting on the exchange, rather it's headed to your bank account.

You can use a decentralized exchange to exchange whatever crypto you’re taking profit on for a stable coin like USDC or USDT. Since stables are pegged to the US dollar, it’s unlikely they’ll fluctuate. Then you can send that to a CEX when possible

I show you how to transfer crypto in this video, it’s the exact same process except in your case it’s Shiba Inu. 1. Navigate to "Manage Tokens" in the Tangem app and search for "Shiba Inu." Enable the network your Shiba is on and click "Save Changes." 2. Now go to Shiba Inu in your Tangem wallet and select "Receive" to copy the public wallet address. 3. Access the platform where your Shiba Inu is currently stored, select "Send," and paste your Tangem wallet's public address into the recipient field. Then, proceed to send. Note: If it's your first time sending, consider sending a small test amount to ensure the process is correct and that you receive the Shiba Inu in your Tangem wallet.

Tangem should compatible with iPhone 7 and above. Make sure you’re at least running iOS 15 though..

1. Open the Tangem app. 2. Select the token you want to sell, for example, USDT. 3. Tap Sell You will be directed to a secure gateway managed by Moonpayx. Follow the given instructions to finalize your transactions. Please note that the Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements may differ based on the amount you want to purchase, but you will likely have to complete a KYC process. 4. Enter your email address and choose either the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) or VISA card where you’d like to receive your funds. 5. Send your crypto to the provided wallet address to instantly convert to fiat currency. MoonPay handles the conversion process for a fee, and you receive cash in the fiat currency of your choice.
Can i delete my tangem wallet and make a new wallet and seed phrase? Using same card?
Of course! Just go to settings, card settings, and tap reset to factory settings. This will allow you to start fresh and generate a new seed phrase. - Alex

@cyberscrilla just to add more on loreto295's question. I think your answer is not complete. I am a new Tangem user and setup the wallet without a seed phrase and later I wanted to setup the wallet with seed phrase on the same 3 cards, so the important point to note here is if we have setup a wallet without seed phrase and put some crypto in it and later we reset all three cards to make the wallet with seed phrase, all the crypto in the previously created wallet without seed phrase will be lost for ever.
Why so many cards? Each card can store how much crypto?
The cards are the same wallet, each one is just a backup. There’s no limit to how much crypto a wallet can store

I can't believe tangem gives the ability to see the seed phrase on a device other than the wallet. Might as well be a hot wallet.

Seems like a lot of trust to your phone is required.. I would feel a bit scetch about creating seeds on the phone itself.
There’s always trust. Whether it’s your phone or the physical hardware wallet. In this case, it’s only displayed briefly and is not stored on the device or app

Tangem maybe be simple and easy BUT What’s up with these rent fees, reserve fees and existential deposit for some of the networks? Like solana, Xrp and polkadot to store my cryptos? Others cold wallets don’t have these charges why is Tangem doing this? It’s turning me off smh

What’s a rent fee? Fees for transfers are based on the network not the wallet. And when you swap or buy these fees are charged by third party exchanges like Changelly, not by Tangem.
@@cyberscrilla yea I know Tangem isn’t charging the rent and reserve fee and it’s the network BUT I was told other cold wallets like ledger doesnt have networks charging ppl. Like for Tangem the Xrp network charges 10xrp for you to store Xrp on Tangem. Dcent and ledger doesn’t do that

I ordered a Tangem wallet from the Tangem website and when it arrived I see it has come from Hong Kong? I feel like throwing it straight in the rubbish.
Why would you do that? It’s manufactured in Hong Kong and they have multiple distributions centers all over the world.
The fact your seed phrase is displayed on your phone screen is just a NO from me. A simple screen shot malware will swipe all that is yours.
