as a finnish kid who grew up with this series, i'm loving to see how the amazing characters and the soundtrack are finally getting the recognition they deserve! (and yes, snufkin was my first childhood crush :'))

I watched this as a kid back in early 90s, and I have not watched it until now, but in Polish as I'm learning that. The harmonica was like a blast from the past
It's interesting we all want to be like him. Not much material possessions, to wonder around care free and in peaceful solitude, but we never dare instead we destroy ourselves chasing all kinds of emty wishes that eventually bring only pain and misery.

How do you guys not get turned off at Snuf's attachment issues? I find it so hard to trust people that feel like they would leave at any moment... and it may be rare, but that rarity can hurt like death. I feel like that makes _me_ have attachment issues through fear (and experience)!
I think snufmin's relationship is interesting in its importance of boundaries and trust. Moomin trusts snufkin to return every spring and snufkin goes on his adventures every winter when moomin hibernates. Though moomin tries to ask snufkin to stay during the winter with him at one point even though he wouldn't be conscious of it and even tries to avoid hibernating to go on an adventure w snufkin, which snufkin declines, moomin respects it and snufkin's need for space while snufkin's adventures remind him where he considers home to return to at moominvalley. I think that compromise and trust is beautiful
