  • I prefer to leave disasters ON. Forces you to not build so close unless you want a raging city wide fire to break out. I space houses 3 tiles apart separated into neighborhoods along rows of sporadic development and crops/orchards/stables. With a lot of wells. That seems to solve the fire from spreading and is quick to put out as long as you free everybody up and have them become laborer's to fight the fire. Who would want to live that cramped too? lol. Or, by chance a tornado that splits your town in half all of the sudden. being spaced out a bit helps fight that. I used to play with disasters off more often than not. Now I prefer the challenge of the extra layer of planning to take them into account.

    @reaperforever6666@reaperforever66666 жыл бұрын
    • Taverns to mass produce Ale. Ale made from fruit is very efficient. Trade for fruit, sell the ale. It's even better than trading for Logs and selling firewood.

      @RBAWintrow@RBAWintrow5 жыл бұрын
  • Great video, quick question, why did you build so many trading posts from the beginning (where the boats visit), do you really have that much excess goods?

    @EgeSonmez@EgeSonmez8 жыл бұрын
    • +Ege Sönmez I used them to buy up 100,000+ apples each year to turn into ale. The ale was sold at a good profit to buy stone, metal, and the massive amounts of food the town needed, as well as pretty much anything else that was needed. Running a city isnt cheap, but massive booze production helps a ton!

      @Ryan123220@Ryan1232208 жыл бұрын
    • Hmm.. apples cost 1 and can be converted 10:1 to ale, which then sells for 8. That's a loss of 20%... Isn't it more because of the good old wood exploit, buying log for 1, cutting it and selling firewood back for 3. Which is why you have so many woodcutters but not a single forester (or I only saw one). I've seen that in many Banished youtube videos. Though I find it ridiculous to have a whole town relying on a trading system exploit to be able to survive. Would be way more decent if it was self-sustaining. Cool timelapse video tho, appreciate the nice work there. edit: Just saw you made this 2 years ago, could be they (he) changed something in the game regarding the trading values since then, idk.

      @jeronimo1338@jeronimo13388 жыл бұрын
    • +Jeronimo V It only takes 3 apple for each ale production, so its actually more profitable than firewood production. And its not unrealistic that a town relies on imports to sustain itself, pretty much every real life city relies on imports for its food. Also, it is just a game. You can make a completely self sustained large city in banished, but you need to spend a lot more land space on food production to be able to ensure you have enough food to go around as well as a massive chunk of the map as forests to be able to make enough firewood.

As the recording went on I was notified about the ability to save camera angles, even then it was still quite a challenge. I would pause the game and do some planning, and let the game run without touching a thing. It was recorded in 5-10 minute sections and stitched together to make a smooth video of the 80 years. It was over 30 hours of recording and playing to make this video :P
