I think part of the reason its possible is because the things that are huge dreams for you are impressive to other people but not necessarily other-worldly to them like they are to you. Everyone is into different things and there is more room for people to achieve high levels of success in their chosen arena than they realize. Also people get confounded by the whole notion of "99% of people don't make it" etc...I can say as someone who plays guitar in a sucesseful band that once you achieve one of those "99% dont make it" achievements you realize how self-limiting that belief is.
