When I lived in the UK I noted not only condescension towards Christianity but immense pride that Christian roots have been eroded. Meanwhile the UK and Europe and general instead let in sheer numbers of people from different religious backgrounds and then pretend not to know why there is so much tension and friction, in addition to repetitive talks about multiculturalism. The hard pill that Europeans don't want to swallow is that their countries were collectively stronger when they were Christian. Because Christianity was a major part of European identity and that was something worth fighting for. Now there is no identity and they've resorted to welcoming people who do hold strong religious convictions. Abandoning Christian values is a death sentence. It's about to start happening in America too. You know it's bad when even Richard Dawkins now says he's a cultural Christian.

The labour party was founded on the teachings of fairness and ideas from the new testament. Keir Hardie was a evangelical preacher. The early socalists were Christians trying to do the right thing. It had nothing to do with Karl Marx. We often forget this.

That is not true. He did not convert to Catholicism until after he left office. There are a multitude of things to criticise Blair for but this seems a rather strange one.
Blair was a very lax Anglican. Once he left office, he converted to his wife's (Cherie) Faith of Catholicism. He made the claim to Michael Parkinson that he never brings his faith into his political decisions. They are to be kept separate!!

It's pretty rum to describe Blair as a "devout Christian"... His voting record did not back that up, nor did he support the place of religion. Also, as PM he hid the fact he was wanting to be Roman Catholic. And then, when he had come out as a Roman Catholic, Rome told him he was expressing positions incompatible with that Church's teaching... So what is he? A man with a religious outlook he won't detail, and who doesn't keep to the doctrines of any particular Church. So, neither conventionally devout, nor conventionally Christian.

Yes, I lived there for many years and know Muslims that drink but none that do so openly for fear of retribution. Malaysian Muslims are considered Islam “lite” by fellow Muslims in the Middle East and it’s those Muslims that will over time become increasingly problematic for the Western countries they move in to I believe.
