Victor Ahn is still loved by almost all Koreans, and even though he skates under the Russian flag, we all root for him as one of our own. We mostly blame our own country's shortcomings, not him.
Leader1623 Then Russians & Koreans could appreciate His talent together )) , And He made a great job , actually, in developing & popularizing of This sport. & People are grateful to him... As someone said previously ,"due to Him Russians fell in love with this Sport...." ) Some Russians ( due to some circumstances) also had to leave Russian team and represent other countries ( as Marina Anisina, Domracheva ,etc for example) , so they're capable to understand your feelings.... He belongs to Humanity now from certain point of view )

Unfortunately, all the liabilities of the collision are on the overtaking skater in the short track speed skating. According to the rule, therefore, Italy impeded Koreans. I know it's silly but the rule says so.

Without Victor An (aka Ahn Hyun-soo)'s three golds Russia would not have come first in the medal table. Way to go man, relying on imported foreign (Korean) talent to bump up your gold count. Hardly a 'Russian' achievement, is it?
The only problem with your argument is that Russian born and trained athletes took 5 GOLD medals for other countries in Sochi...including Domracheva, a Russian skier, who won 3 golds for Belarus...so if naturalization of foreigners was forbidden, Russia would have +2 more gold medals. The number of naturalized athletes in US Olympic team as well as other countries is not even worth mentioning here...you'll just become even more butthurt than you already are...
On January 16, 2008 Ahn had injured his knee. After undergoing three surgeries, his rehabilitation period was predicted to be around 2-3 months. After eight months off the ice, a Korean news article reported on September 5, 2008 that Ahn was back training, undergoing approximately two hours of physical reinforcement and skating along with around five hours of rehabilitation accompanied by muscular power training. During the South Korean National Team Trials, which ultimately determine the Fall World Cup and Olympic Teams, Ahn was unable to qualify, finishing 7th in overall points (because Ahn didn't compete in the last two World Cup seasons, he needed to finish in the top three in overall points to qualify). Due to his inability to qualify, he did not compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Ahn's father stated that the decision to compete for Russia was due to lack of support from the South Korean skating association. Prior to moving to Russia, Ahn did not know Russian, and Ahn had no familial ties to Russia. He had considered competing for the United States, but found that the process for gaining Russian citizenship was much easier.
