I am 15 and I saw both the movies when I was like 7 so I can’t remember anything bad about them I do remember dragon transformations tho
I love it for how bad and fun it is. Like so many more characters are in it. I jist hate a certain someone not wearing their mask and looking way too small for the role.
I still like the first 2 films but the new movie wasn't that good to me.
I always loved Johnny Cage's line when he and Liu Kang go to Outworld and he says "I hate this place. I'm in a hostile environment, I'm completely unprepared, I'm surrounded by people who probably want to kick my ass. It's like being back in high school." LOL 😂
This would have been the perfect time to crossover with Blindwave 😂

Fun fact originally the scorpion fight was supposed to end at the moment when he created the portal. But test audiences didn't like it as much so they added that extra part. Also the moment Reptile kicked Liu Kang through the wall the sound Liu actor made is a real because he broke some ribs.
True he did break ribs, but it was when he got thrown into the pillar. If you watch it back it looks brutal, they used that take in the movie
Don't forget that that Reptile scene was Robin Shou's idea in the first place

The scene where Johnny Cage pays Liu Kang to load his bags is I am pretty sure an homage to Enter the Dragon with Bruce lee and John Saxon boarding the boat to the Island.
I feel like the entire movie is cribbing from Enter the Dragon. They even gave Johnny Cage a black friend who gets killed in the tournament.

The noise Sonya makes when Kano kicks her in the stomach causes a visceral reaction in me. If you've ever had the air just kicked out of you that's pretty much the noise you make. Brings back some memories. If I could hold off, I definitely would of used my one line for Johnny's "those were $500 sunglasses, asshole." Classic
She played that really well
If I only got one quote for the movie it would definitely be "Those were $500 sunglasses asshole" that Johnny gives to Goro, lol. I always felt like Johnny's actor did the best to embrace the whole personality of Johnny Cage.

The director from the first Jonney scene was actually supposed to be a cameo for Spielberg, but he couldn't make it because he was filming. Also, the Scorpion and Reptile fights were filmed in reshoots because people who saw the film said it needed more fights. Cameron Deiz was also supposed to be Sonya before she got hurt before shooting.
I can not imagine doing stunts outside of charlie's angels, wait I actually dont know if she did any or if she had a double

Fun fact: Cary Hiroyuki told Robin Shou to actually punch him in the face in the scene where Shang Tsung is first struck by Liu Kang.It adds weight to the fact that it's the first time in centuries that Shang Tsung has bled.
Can cofirm MK was a thing in the Czech Republic. Not necessarily in arcades, because there were few of those around. But EVERYONE played the shareware version of MK on their PCs. (or pirated it) MK was also my first ever soundtrack - my mum bought an audiotape of it for me at a market in Poland.

The BEST part about the second film is the beginning.. because it takes place immediately after the end scene of the first, but everyone is wearing brand new squeaky clean clothes
Eh, that's pretty tame compared to some movie sequels. Take the Evil Dead series for example. Every time they recap the events of the previous film, Ash's girlfriend changes into a completely different person.

Love this movie when i saw it as a kid with my brother and best friend at the movie theater. One of the Best opening theme songs of ALL TIME. The source material was taken seriously that's why It's so beloved to the fans.
This is one of my favorite video game adaptations so it was a surprise to me about 12 yrs ago to find photos of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Shang Tsune) doing martial arts training with one of my first cousins husband.
I ran into him eating breakfast in a little diner on Kauai about 20 years ago. He was so nice about teenage me interrupting his meal to fanboy out.

When this movie came out there was a live action show on Saturday mornings after the early cartoons called WMAC Masters which was Legally Distinct Mortal Kombat. Bunch of martial artists with nicknames and stereotypical tropes doing choreo fights in a tournament. There was no death and no gore and they were fighting for points or trophies but it was amazing. Wish it was more than 2 seasons.
This is definitely one of my favorite reactions ever by the Normies lol. I feel like I've reunited with long lost friends who likes this movie as much as I do. It was really fun watching this reaction with them. Sidebar: I could definitely see Marketa as Sonya (in terms of demeanor. I don't mean this in a disrespectful way either lol) thanks for this reaction Normies!

Did my man Nahid really just say that Doom is the best video game adaptation movie? That movie had almost nothing to do with the games at all lol. I mean it did have Karl Urban and The Rock but it was Mario levels of bad in terms of adaptation.

Oh my youth, 13 years playing Mortal Kombat with friends on Arcade and Super Nintendo, and we have the movie announcement. My father taking 5 more of my friends to the cinema and it was one of the films that I saw most excited about the music and the scenes (which were not those things but the whole atmosphere of the time helped a lot). The soundtrack continues for me top 10 of the cinema, I bought it at the time.
Never played a single game of it, but 1 of my favorite movies in my childhood with my siblings ❤❤❤❤ the nostaligia is so real 😄 sub-zero will always be my fav 🥶
Betamax was on tape and was the predecessor to VHS. It wasn’t a disc. I bet Suraj was watching some kind of bootleg VCD. Edited to say I loved this reaction.

As a kid the scene at 12:00 always looked like they were all wearing baby oil, and since I was like 8 years old at the time, but still was able to somehow be allowed to rewatch this movie like 10000 times, sometimes I'd put baby oil all over my chest and pretend fight to the scenes 🤣

I'm 32 now and I gotta admit, I watched this movie like 15 times or so, I've memorized all the lines and could probably recite the whole movie, heck even try to replicate some moves. On that note, I totally feel like the dude with the backwards hat. While I enjoyed the 2021 version as well, this is always going to be one of my favorite movies of all time.

Fun fact: Cameron Diaz was supposed to be Sonya Blade but she was hurt towards end of training right before they were set to film. That's why her fights were shorter and less dynamic sure to get lack of fight training.

The game was forbidden in germany. Gameoutlets were not even allowed to talk about or review it, other than saying it's sale is prohibited. We still all played it and it was super popular. When the movie was announced we all were hyped af. The german release of the movie was 5 months after the english release. I managed to get a VHS screener of the UK version 2 months before the german theatrical release. For those 2 months I was the most popular kid in school. I asked for 10DM for two days. This movie basically financed my PlayStation. 😊

Good Video game movies...Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, first MK (looks like this new one too 🤯)...Streetfighter hit me at the right age of still being over excited to see my fav characters and JCVD fandom...Sonic with Jim Carey... Can't wait for Uncharted with Tom Holland...also hope more games are made in that way...I also hope they do a Just Cause type movie

Kano in the games was originally British. The movie actor tried to do a cockney accent that was so awful yet so memorable, they reconned the character to being either Australian or New Zealandish in the games.
Grew up a The King Of Fighters fan, wasn't really a mortal kombat person but damm was this movie fun as hell, terrible but still super fun, I just wish there was a decent The King Of Fighters movie out there like how they're doing MK

Mortal kombat was a major milestone in my life too micky. At 6 years old i would play diddy kong racing on the N64 and one day my dad is like hey wanna play a real game son? Of course im hell yeah, it turns out to be Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance on the Xbox. I have played every mortal kombat since then in hopes to beat him. He mained scorpion and i finally beat him in MK10 with kung lao. He turns around and pulls out liu kang and beats me turns out liu is his main scorpion was his 2nd he was going easy on me these past 17 years....
it's a good movie; i even think the street fighter movie is overall a good movie experience
