    • The reason for the gi having a `way’ to close it is most likely related to sword drawing. That’s why men and women have different sided buttons in the West. If you draw your sword you want to avoid it catching on the material as it leaves the scabbard. In the modern world it is merely a habit or tradition.

It's easier to get out of a bad position in No-Gi due to sweat and perspiration.. the gi makes you really work for getting out of bad situations.. • Dope GI! Looks like there is a bit too much room in the Gi for anyone to continuously get good grips in it though. For training is good for you and your partner but for Comp that can be an issue lol. My Adidas Gi has been washed and dried and the Gi is snugged but meets comp requirements. Makes it more difficult for your opponent to get good grips in giving you an advantage by making it difficult for your opponent to get good grips in.

    • @@tongahealingchannel1875I feel that at this stage of Max’s career, making it to the fight injury free and moving well would be more important than improving in the no gi of which I’m sure he is super good at. Young guys will hammer no gi with half power strikes and practicing getting back up to the feet etc. Max doesn’t need to hammer his body any more, so variety of training and reducing boredom is a very real thing. But hey, only max knows for sure 👍🏼

  • Why do people turtle up and give up their back? It’s embarrassing

    @eddienash5986@eddienash5986Ай бұрын
    • I think it’s a point thing. They don’t let them pass their guard and get points. The turtle is so they won’t be able to get hooks. There is no repercussions for staying in turtle so they won’t rush to stand up or recover guard. They just want to prevent points and submissions.
