I'm still looking for Knock on Wood
What a world-class act Danny Kaye was. Thank goodness we have so much of his talent on film.
"We'll find something to put around your neck." I saw this when I was kid when it came out. Danny was the best
"With band music?"
great line to sum it all up
Met him once when I was a kid😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahahaaha
Grew up with Danny can't beat it no cgi just talent
QUE BUENO!!!! POR FIN EN ESPAÑOL, una abuela desde Montevideo Uruguay 🇺🇾💖
One of the most entertaining movies ever, Danny Kaye at his finest ❤
Love Danny Kaye!
Brilliant movie Danny Kay on top of his game us kids in the 70s wanted too copy him . Funny . The lyrics gee bring that back the real laugh😅of language
The gypsy song is a sheer act of genius. Absolutely amazing.
Danny Kaye never quite seems to get the same love as many of his contemporaries, but he was extraordinarily talented. The kind of talent that seems so natural, so... easy. I'm sure it wasn't easy at all, but with Kaye you always come away feeling like you've seen something wonderful, something special. One of the greats. Might not have been as prolific as those that came before him, but his films are all gems. THANK YOU for posting this one.
Thank you 🥤🍿
Por fin!!!! La tenia grabada en vhs desde los anos 80!!!
Love this movie! Can’t wait to watch it!!!
Danny left his hit tv show in '66 to work with unicef.

Love that movie.
No one like Danny Kay ❤❤❤
Не знал, что американцы экранизировали "Ревизора" в 1949 году
Yes, but they didn’t mention that - jealous of Russian genius Gogol 😅
@@v.r.2834 I guess this film didn't pass the Soviet censors
@@v.r.2834This story was changed so much in the film that little is left of Gogol's play and nothing of the image of Russia. This film's Russia is much better than Gogol's.
@@asiac4736 Had Gogol ever been to France?
@@asiac4736This adaptation is set in France. Why should it look like Russia?
Above all, it's a comedy.
Got this one in DVD collection!
Un film experimental 💐
Elsa Lanchester -she's just as cute as she was in other films I have seen of her -and even cuter than when she was Bride Of Frankenstein. She was thinner in that one.
Me encantan las pelis de este actor, sobre todo las viudas del jazz
Não se fazem mais atores e filmes como antigamente.
That Elsa Lanchester sure was pretty
Genial !
🗣️Danny Kaye 🥳

The toast of new oleans, please 🙏
Bu filmin senaryosunu Nikolay Vasilyeviç Gogol'un Müfettis adli romanindan indiragandi yapmislar.
I've been thinking about this movie ever since the Ukraine War started. Where's our Inspector General to stop corruption? I saw as a kid why everyone feared Danny.
Movie to watch if your on death row very funny
😊❤
Por Favor En Español O Si Nó Con Subtitulos Al Español Sí Son Tán Amables 😊
Is that an eye patch he has?
Is it a book ? Who's the author ?
More of a stageplay, from what I gathered. By Nikolai Gogol.
@@geoffreyrichards6079 Gogol was the first thing I thought of. The movie in details is a little bit different from Gogol's original. What a rare gem !
Yakov: May I become a wandering gypsy if I'm not telling the truth. Georgi: But you ARE a wandering gypsy. Yakov: That proves I'm telling the truth.
No way they spent $2.8 million on a movie in 1949. That is way above average for the year.
