The Kaye way to chaos and corruption.
An illiterate stooge in a traveling medicine show wanders into a strange town and is picked up on a vagrancy charge. The town’s corrupt officials mistake him for the inspector general whom they think is traveling in disguise. Fearing he will discover they’ve been pocketing tax money, they make several bungled attempts to kill him.

  • Danny Kaye never quite seems to get the same love as many of his contemporaries, but he was extraordinarily talented. The kind of talent that seems so natural, so... easy. I'm sure it wasn't easy at all, but with Kaye you always come away feeling like you've seen something wonderful, something special. One of the greats. Might not have been as prolific as those that came before him, but his films are all gems. THANK YOU for posting this one.
