    • around that time Germans introduced harder and bigger tanks -the likes of PzKfW3 and 4 - were introduced in increasing numbers and these were already more resilient to .55 rounds of these antitank rifles of these kind.. well some even marginalized the effectiveness of 37mm antitank guns already at this point. so these guns became useless against these. also in 1942 German Army introduced The Tiger tanks. which even capable to resist 47mm AP rounds! so Boys are nothing against them.

      @DiscothecaImperialis@DiscothecaImperialis16 күн бұрын
    • @@Ig_nis You could still take out a truck or half track, but you could do that with an LMG, let alone an M2. Some nationalities (Russia and I think Italy) used a 20mm AT rifle that was a fair bit more effective - though still out of date by mid war.

      @smgdfcmfah@smgdfcmfah15 күн бұрын
    • @DiscothecaImperialis the fact that you refferred to the Tiger 1 line of tank as "The Tigers" and made them out to be soke sort of mass produced main battle tank that saw a lot of tank-on-infantry fighting instead of being used as a very rare long distance self-propelled anti-tank gun as it actually was tells me everything i need to know about your knowledge of ww2 tanks. The fact you also went on to say "The Tigers" were immune to 47 mm guns only solidifies my belief that youre a dumbass and probably Italian. Who tf uses a 47 mm gun as a reference point? Not only was it only used by Italians and maybe Japanese at this point but the Tiger 1 was able to resist much bigger and more powerful guns at ranges it was actually used at, or even smalled ranges if the armor is angled slightly. The American 75 mm and soviet 76 mm could not penetrate the armor at 500 meters without hitting the same spot multiple times which would cause the armor to fail

Also, she looks nice in any color, except when hello kitty is involved Also, can say the same thing in every language, no matter the language, with a single glance. And I think British Army would use these films primarily. despite that the weapon itself became obsolete too fast (and only Bazookas type weapons replace them. in case of Brits. PIAT replace it).

A shortened version was deployed in 1942 for issue to airborne forces and saw use in Tunisia, where it proved completely ineffective because of the reduced velocity caused by the shortened barrel. A further limitation was that the Boys rifle was relatively heavy and unwieldy to carry."

(actually nearly immune to 37 or even 47 mm 'Antitank cannons' rounds as well, which once worked well against early war tanks.) it was then German Army introduced PzKfW6 'Tiger' which was a real heavy tank. something 75 / 76 mm rounds at that time can't do anything and it needed combined efforts of air attacks and artillery to put that tiger down.

    • Interestingly, in Korea, US forces borrowed some Mk. I*'s from the Canadians, double-charged the powder, added a scope, and used it as a sniper's rifle. Effective range against infantry was reported as 2,000 yds/1.13 miles, or about 1,828 meters. Unofficially, I knew a Korean war vet that actually did this. They said the recoil "felt like it was ripping off your arm" but it was man-sized-target accurate to the roughly 1,200 yards he shot out to. Like most, he didn't see the point in something like this at the time.

  • 6:02 back then the tank featured here is Panzer 2 (there are so many models made, with different track bogie designs). 6:13 in the end REAL big guns are needed. Antitank rifles like this one only actually cripple them so bigger weapons will finish them off. rather than killing these tanks outright. later on. Bazookas and derivatives were proven better alternatives as it can actually destroy enemy tanks with their own ammunitions. The intro scene said its all. that artillery finished that Lastboss tank off.
