    • Hey @mikeq7096, it's a great mechanical keyboard overall! I've used many other mechanical keyboards, some which are even better than this keyboard, but none of them can match the software experience from Logitech when it comes to productivity. I'm still using this keyboard as my main keyboard and still enjoying it every day, especially now that I've remapped the top right keys to launch specific apps. Enjoy it and thanks for watching : )

  • Nice review! I've been thinking of buying my first mechanical keyboard for a while, but I'm still hesitant between linear and tactile keyboards. I don't game a lot, but I'm usually typing pages and pages of text on my computer for work on a daily basis. So in terms of switch, I feel like tactile might feel better, but I'm worried about the fatigue my fingers would get because of the strength I need to press the key. Since you have the quiet tactile version, did you get any finger fatigue when typing with this keyboard in your personal experience?

    @MysticCat21@MysticCat212 жыл бұрын
    • Hey Haruto, that is an excellent point that you bring up, and I wish I answered that in my review. I can easily say that the amount of pressure required to engage the keys is not significant with the tactile quiet. I compared the typing experience to my laptop keys and the amount of pressure required when using this keyboard is only slightly more than on my laptop keyboard. I don't feel any finger fatigue so far when using it.

  • Mine arrives Friday with the MX3s mouse. I’ve got 4 other MK’s but this will be my first low profile/wireless board which will be my main board for my office so I couldn’t go all “gamer” with it nor could I have gotten away with my MX Blue switch boards. They’re super loud, especially on conference calls. This board looks really clean and the 2 tone gray is perfect for a professional office environment.

    @FastRedPonyCar@FastRedPonyCar2 жыл бұрын
    • Hey @FastRedPonyCar, that's exciting! I'm just finishing up a video on the MX 3S also. Yea good choice going with a quieter switch, I also had to keep that in mind when I'm on calls and I have to type down client notes. I'm really loving the Reaction backlight. Did you upgrade from the MX3 to the 3S, or from an older MX mouse?

      @DemCrumblies@DemCrumblies2 жыл бұрын
    • @@DemCrumblies Yeah I have the first gen MX Master which is still amazing but the rubberized top is starting to get a bit gummy/tacky the way old mice can get. I've been work from home the last 2 years and got the MX3 back in late 2019 to replace the original one but never got rid of the old one. Fast forward to now and I'm at a new job and the old MX was back in action but left my thumb feeling kinda gummy with that old rubber residue. I also have the G900 (which I hate the ambidextrous design but it's insanely good for FPS gaming) and the white G703 which looks awesome, always stays charged on the logitech power mat but it too has gotten tacky and gummy on the thumb rest rubber part. Also got an old G500, but... cord, and occasionally doesn't register clicks. I've got 5 different MK's but none of them are welcome in a suit/tie professional office environment so I've been suffering with an old Lenovo rubber dome keyboard. I've got the MX keys board but I didn't really dig the feel of the dished keycaps and my wife has it now for her home office setup. I can't get away with loud switches so the MX MK with it's buttoned up clean and professional looks but much better typing feel strikes the perfect balance IMO. I originally was going to get another MX3 and didn't know there was a new mouse so when I saw the KB/M combo on amazon, I went ahead and got that. Anyways, for the mice, biggest difference right off the bat for me is the super quiet mouse clicks. I love that and actually really like the feel of these new switches. They have a softer but still tactile click to them that's more satisfying than the MX3. Although I don't do much side scrolling at the office, the side scroll wheel on the 3S is a bit stiffer than the MX3 but at home working with final cut, it's nice to have easier side/side scrolling. 8K dpi vs the standard MX3 is slightly noticeable on my 60hz monitors but I can tell a pretty nice difference on the MBP's 120hz screen. Only minor gripe is no color options with the amazon combo pack for the mouse. Only graphite.

    • @@FastRedPonyCar Thanks for the detailed reply. You have way more experience with the gaming side of Logitech's offerings than I do. My last gaming mouse was the G5 with the adjustable weight tray. I was interested in the MX Keys before, but good to know that you prefer the MX Mechanical over it. Yea I noticed that the side scroll wheel is a bit stiffer on the 3S, but I thought it would get looser with increased use, maybe not. I love the quiet clicks on it and it has that soft click, similar to what I experienced when using the Logitech Lift. I think some people won't be a fan of it though, so I'm curious to see if they carry over that feature for the MX4 or not. Maybe they will see the feedback from the 3S and adjust accordingly. I also normally order from Amazon, but was I able to get it quicker by ordering from the Logitech website this time. Enjoy your new keyboard and mouse!

    • Since you are using this keyboard for the office setting, which switches did you decide to go with? From the video, I’ve noticed it’s still too loud for me to bring to work. So I wanted to know any alternatives because I really love the look of this keyboard!

      @samonec1024@samonec10248 ай бұрын
    • @@samonec1024 I used the blue tactile switches. It wasn’t too bad for the office but I had some problems with it not waking up and also a couple keys just stopped responding. I replaced it about a month ago with a Touch ID Apple keyboard. It’s a good alternative if you use a Mac like I do. Otherwise, I’d probably still roll with the Mx mechanical. My wife uses the standard Mx keys board and I’m not a fan of that one at all. Mushy keys.

This is what they said "It guarantees a strong and secure, no drop-off connection for up to 10 meters, even in congested wireless environments." I am waiting to hear back from their support team about actual latency times between BT and the Logi Bolt. I will update you when I hear back from them. Hope that helps.

      @christymckeon9955@christymckeon99552 жыл бұрын
    • @@christymckeon9955 Hey Christy, so far it has fared well for the limited gaming that I tried. I didn't feel like there was any delay with using the Bolt. However, it doesn't have convenient remappable buttons near the WASD keys that gaming keyboards like the Logitech G915 has if that's important to you. Another thing to consider is how you have your mouse and keyboard oriented when you play. Some gaming keyboards don't have the numpad so it's less wide, allowing you to keep your mouse right next to the keyboard. Since this is the full sized version, maybe the Mini version could work too unless having your mouse further off to the right doesn't bother you. Most importantly though is latency, I'm waiting to hear back from Logitech about the latency numbers between BT & using the Logi Bolt. Once we know that, we can compare to other types of gaming centric keyboards. I didn't notice delays when using the Bolt while gaming, but I'm also not a heavy PC gamer, so maybe I just can't notice it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    • Hey Eric, it isn't hot-swappable, unfortunately. I've been using it daily since this review 10 months ago and I use it at least 6 to 9 hours a day for work without any issues. The software is also pretty good. I've also reviewed the NuPhy Halo 96 mechanical keyboard here: kzhead.info/sun/nbFsYpRqhHuMgnk/bejne.html I can't comment on the reliability long-term, but it definitely feels premium and well put together, just the software is not very polished.

    @YoungSweat@YoungSweat Жыл бұрын
    • Hey Joshua, I've used it for light gaming and it works fine. Logitech says the latency is up to 7 ms when using the USB Logi Bolt connection on Windows. One though is that because it's so heavy, if you have a tendency to angle your keyboard or readjust it during gameplay, it isn't a smooth or quick experience. Also, as you saw, it won't have any macro buttons or quick set command buttons to map.

I will admit It does seem like odd concept at first to someone who grow up know nothing but membrane or clicky keyboards to not have that physically feed back. but after a month or so i learned to type/clicker even faster (and with a lot less fatigue) without needing any physical feed back to confidently know the key stroke has been registered. also, i have heard of people adding tiny rubber bands to each key themselves for linear or tactile type mechanical keys to quiet the sound when bottoming them out

    • Hey Brandon, make sure you've downloaded the newest version of the Logi Options+ Software here: www.logitech.com/en-ca/software/logi-options-plus.html Next, open the software and click on Add Device. If you are on Windows and trying to connect by Bluetooth, you will have to pair the keyboard in the Windows Bluetooth section first by turning on the keyboard, pressing and holding the key labeled "1" just above the ins key until it flashes that it is in pairing mode, then scan in the Windows Bluetooth settings, click on the keyboard in the list, and click connect/pair, then you will have to type in the numerical code shown on the screen on your keyboard then hit enter. If you're using the Logi Bolt USB receiver, simply plug the USB receiver into your computer, wait until all necessary drivers are downloaded and installed automatically by WIndows, then you can click the option in the Logi Options+ software to Add Device. Let me know how it goes. I don't have a Mac, so I can't help if you using that unfortunately.

    @svan79@svan79 Жыл бұрын
    • Hey Svan, it will work for gaming because the keys are low profile and pop back up quick after key presses. However, if you are a competitive gamer and play mostly FPS games, then a gaming keyboard will be better because you'll have programmable keys and lower actuation points on the switches. This keyboard has N Key rollover like most gaming keyboards btw.

    • @@DemCrumblies Exactly. And I do not consider any of them quiet. An old Logitech K740 - THAT is quiet. And of course despite the fact that K740 is considered one of the best keyboards for typing of all time, the idiots at logitech instead offer wireless only with their new higher end models and don't offer a wired version for those of us that don't need to connect keyboards to 200 billion other devices. Even this mechanical keyboard, while great for me, took a while for them to release, so I don't feel they're innovating much now, just playing catch up. I still have to keep wired keyboards around too whenever I need to update my BIOS settings since wireless keyboards don't work in the BIOS and yea many people still prefer wired so you have zero downtime with recharging or swapping batteries. There are no good wired backlit scissor switch keyboards out there anymore that are quiet and don't have issues with paint fading off them. It's a bit infuriating. The only two wireless options that I would even consider are the MX-Keys/Keys S or the Dell KB900, but of course wireless keyboards come with their own set of problems as you mentioned.

  • Most of the lighting modes are crap and a waste designers time and the users energy (albeit minute) bill- this is not a christmas tree. For instance, one mode lights up the key that was just pressed - how stupid is that, a human being with more than two brain cells already knows what was pressed and doesn't need to be reminded - the output is on the screen anyway. The only smart lighting that should have been included, but is not, is the next expected key based on the language and previous sequence, so at least the keyboard would try to show me the way in darkness.

    • Yea it depends though. I've been using the Logitech Lift vertical mouse for at least 8 hours a day for about 35 days and it's reporting 95% battery life yet (rated for up to 2 years). So I should get around 20 months by that math, shy 4 months of Logitech's 24 month claim. My MX 3 mouse doesn't make it to the claimed 70 days of battery life though, so I guess they are basing the MX battery life number on more conservative use.
