The World Rapid and Blitz Championships 2021 proved to be an amazing event for Uzbek youngsters. We all know about 17-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov who became the World Rapid Champion, but the in the blitz event, it was the 16-year-old Javokhir Sindarov who managed to perform admirably. The youngster gained 177 Elo points beating players like Mamedyarov and Nepomniachtchi. In the 11th round Sindarov took on the blitz monster Hikaru Nakamura. How did things pan out in this game? Wow what a game! This young talent fought fearlessly, was holding the position almost to a deadlock, even tried to checkmate Hikaru but Hikaru is solid as always and grinded it to a win
New generation is fearless of world class players, I am 18 and I am playing chess from 12 and even now I feel tensed during tournament.
I wish he was allowed to play on the final day. He could have won.

Would be nice if they had a fallback plan of online chess (same time control) if either player has Covid. Formal chess tournaments are a bit too rigid to allow that, though

White is up an exchange and a pawn. Defended successfully against black's threats. So black resigned.
Black can't defend his king anymore. White's d5 pawn is strong and his rook next moves will cause havoc meanwhile black's bishop offers little.

The question you need to ask is who does opening up that file favor. Re3 leads to various tough boards for black to play.
I think probably because black doesn't want to trade since he traded a rook for a piece earlier, even though in the short term black would gain a pawn, Hikaru could probably get it back since that square is relatively weak.

Very reckless and outright irresponsible of hikaru to come to a tournament coughing and not wearing a mask. Seeing all those piece moves with the same hand he is covering the cough is disturbing.
He tested negative for covid, assumed he didn't have it, then quarantined once he got a positive test. What more do you expect from him.
