The Murder of Racing Legend Mickey Thompson Pt.2 - Past Gas #55

2020 ж. 3 Қаз.
45 509 Рет қаралды

On March 16, 1988, performance legend Mickey Thompson and his wife Trudy were shot and killed in their own driveway in the wealthy, gated community of Bradbury, California. Their murder was a cold case that would go unsolved for over a decade... although many of Mickey’s friends and family were certain who was to blame. On today’s Past Gas, James, Nolan and Joe explore the bizarre mystery of Mickey Thompson’s murder-- who did it, and why?-- in a case that to this day brings up as many questions as answers.

  • Hydro barriers are what killed him. Mob ran, teamsters backed, cement barriers were the norm. Then you have this guy with the ability to make it and prove it to work had to be removed. Mickey didn’t hold back his feelings. He’d tell a mob boss to pound sand. And did. He also took a loan from non normal sources. So . . .

    • Godwin looks incredibly guilty, and I think he did it but when a case like this seeps into the public consciousness and he’s framed as the villain for years, and then gets convicted with really shoddy physical evidence and hearsay...yeah this verdict is bullshit. How the gun thing didnt kill the whole case is crazy. He was arrested on false evidence!

Also this kind of behavior is why our system has never worked in example compare this trial to the on trial that had the exact opposite outcome and circumstances and you realize if it doesn't work on this high level how many people are being screwed everyday and having their lives ruined by ignorance, greed, and shoddy follow through on evidence

  • Assassins' on bicycles was the MO of Columbian drug cartels in the 80's. There where a number of such murders in the San Fernando Valley at that time directly connected to cocaine. The only difference was these murders used AK47's and a lot of bullets. Over kill to make a point. So it could have been the model that the killer(s) used as these murders always went unsolved or at least unprosecuted. Just saying.

Both of them arent "super bouncy" and the engine isn't that loud when just cruising. And so what if it has a loud v8 that's what I and many others like. For example, if you want the keys to their vehicle, if you want them to open a safe, etc. If you need them there your best bet is to wait until they're coming or going, and ambushing them. Which is exactly what they did. Then they panic and leave without grabbing anything. It's actually pretty common. I mean this still could have been a hit, I'm just saying those details don't completely rule out a botched robbery.
