  • the Revenge year for Nole : -Won AO after he was banned last year -Won RG and overtook Nadal in the slam race, at Nadal’s best slam the same way Nadal overtook Nole in AO 22 -Won Cincinatti beating Alcaraz after he lost the Wimby final -Won USO after not being allowed to compete the year before by beating the guy whom he lost the final in 2021 -Won Paris beating Rune in the qf whim he lost the final last year - Got back the year end no.1 after not being allowed to compete half a season last year and being denied 2000 points in Wimbledon 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    • Add to that the fact that two faced Nadal is nowhere near top 10 and this year almost cant be better

    • Other revenge items: - The utter beatdown of De Minaur in front of his home crowd at the AO - The almost casual obliteration of Alcaraz in the ATP semifinals - Getting payback in the ATP Finals after losing to Sinner in the RR - Triple career GS (with Rafa and Fed not even having the double) - not really revenge but more of an "in-your-face" statement

  • Best part of the rankings this year for me would definitely be Sinner's unexpected rise from being the gatekeeper of the top 15 to being in the top 4! Also love that Zverev was able to almost fully recover this year! Great video Cam!

    • I definitely expected Sinner to get back to the top ten, but going to 4 was unexpected.

  • Great time for tennis right now; ATP and WTA. I don't remember being this interested in the sport in a long time.

  • Sinner's jump in rankings and impressive form towards the end of the year, was amazing! Djokovic coming back to number one and Alcaraz impressive too by not dropping lower than number 2 throughout the year! Goes to show how great Alcaraz is and only second to Djokovic in tennis at the moment.

    • Alcaraz Sinner and Medvedev are tied for second while Nole is leading. But next year I think the complete domination will end because as we saw not just alcaraz but Sinner and Rune also started to push Djokovic to the limit.

  • Yeh Sinner for me because I am completely biased cos I love the guy 😅. Federer was always my main man so it's weird because Jannik's game isn't much like Roger's, though I've heard other Federer fans like him as well. I first saw him at the next gen finals and was struck by his power and the smoothness of his groundstrokes. He was just this skinny kid who didn't seem to have a non sweaty shirt to change into for the trophy presentation. He has come on so incredibly well, working so hard to improve his serve, his variety, his mentality, his endurance. I just love watching him play.

  • You mentioned that Alcatraz didn't play Aussie, but you left out that Djokovic didn't play Indian Wells and most importantly didn't mention the elephant in the room: the ATP didn't let Djokovic count his 2000 points from Wimbledon throughout July 2022- June 2023. Unheard of. All those "#1" skirmishes against Djokovic need an asterisk, either from these Wimbledon points or from blocking Djokovic from Miami and Indian Wells. But Djokovic responded by just taking #1 anyway. Pretty stunning.

    • Still got dusted by Novak in the most important match of his career . And champion of what in 2024 exactly ? Sinner still has a lot to prove , we will see if he can maintain his form for the entire season and nut just peaking for like 2 months after the last slam has ended . He still hasn't made a slam final so he has plenty to prove unlike Alcaraz who we expect to reach semis or better at any slam .

  • Alcaraz had a fabulous year despite injuries. His win at Wimbledon was epic, one that will go down in the history books. Recency bias should not allow that to be ignored.

  • I have to say, because stupid reason, Wimbledon without points, Alcaraz wouldn't be year end number one. I understand covid etc. but this decision made by ATP, robbed Djokovic. It's not Alcaraz's fault he took the chance, but he would be niber one only few weeks after this year Wimbledon.

    • In Novak is so lucky then why is their h2h 3-1 in Novak's favor in 2023 ? If Novak is so lucky with the draws why did he beat the guy ( Medvedev ) who beat him in the semifinals of the US Open ? Seems like sour grapes . Slams : 3-1 in Novak's favor ATP Finals : 1-0 in Novak's favor Masters 1000 " 2-2 so a tie total titles 7-6 in Novak's favor and yet he played a lot less tournaments H2H : 3-1 in Novak's favor and 1-1 at the slams so a tie there Novak ended as the YEN1 compared to Carlos who ended as the YEN2 so Novak wins here as well . Novak won 6 big titles ( 3 slams , 1 ATP Finals , 2 masters 1000 ) compared to Alcaraz who won 3 ( 1 slam , 2 masters 1000 ). Novak also played quite a bit less than Alcaraz , he only played 4 masters 1000 this season and won half of what he entered . You can cry ,, weak draws ,, all day but Novak was simply the better player in 2023 than Alcaraz , no debate here . The funny thing is that if the Wimbledon points counted from last year Alcaraz would have had less than 200 points over Djokovic , a guy that due to politics couldn't play in 2 slams and 4 masters , literally half the big titles . Novak wasn't even trying to go for YEN1 he pretty much conceded it to Alcaraz after the US Open , it's Alcaraz's fault for being bad in the Asian swing and letting Novak pounce on keeping that n1 spot .
