  • I love Killians' attitude, he doesn't appear to allow ego to determine what projects he does. He could turn up to UTMB every year and be the superstar but he choices the road less travelled and always looks for new ways to grow, physically, mentally and spiritually, thats cool.

  • Jornet. - has a VO2 max of 92ml. (One of the highest ever recorded). Most olimpic athletes have 75-85. - and resting heart rate of 32. (Only ones who got lower are few top cyclists). Going up to a max of 205. So he is not just a top athlete. He is someone with the best parameters in history by a big margin. And someone who is pushing far from what humans could do.

    • @@ln5747 your red blood cell count absolutely affects your vo2max. Oxygen carrying capacity right. Also, recovery has critical impact. Being able to do big blocks of trainings, like 30 to 40 weeks increases vascularity, blood volume, mitochondrial density and size. All this increases vo2max. Stringing consecutive big days together is huge. Does utmb even test anyone?? You see

  • Kilian is such a warm and friendly person. It's hard to comprehend just how capable he is. One example would be his time from Chamonix to the summit of Mont Blanc and back in c. 4:45. This is competely off the chart. His biochemistry is also rather odd: he did the traverse from Courmayeur to Chamonx over Mont Banc (up the Innominata ridge, which is a D+ Alpine route) in 8:43 - with just 500ml of fluid and a few gels. I'm sure he would have had the potentual to be a Tour de France GC contender if he'd been interested in cycling.
