  • Hmmmmm. He always said to him your move chief. Because he knew that Matt's character always tried to play these mind games with people as away to keep them out and push them away. Robin's character always had a way of letting him know that way of being and mentality won't work with me.

  • Matt Damon went back to that bench after the passing of Robin. Just a tidbit of information but it was so sad to me when I heard that. One of the all-time great scenes and a tragic loss that brought Matt back to that place to reflect on the life and loss of his friend and someone I believe most people loved on some level.

Thank you for the ride, Robin. We hope you found the peace somewhere that evaded you for so long while you where here. We love and miss you every day.

  • What a time it was back when this movie 1st came out! Robin Williams'genius was caught on film so perfectly in this scene and this whole movie! Matt Damon and Ben Affleck felt they deserved like a 1 million dollar bonus after the movie made over $300million and Oscar nominations and so they invited Harvey Weinstein to some hotel room for a meeting asking for the million dollar bonus. Weinstein had already heard about what Affleck n Damon expected and played along perfectly I guess and when they 2 guys present their cases and ask for the million bucks each as a bonus Weinstein says ok boys, no problem. He opens up his briefcase or bag or whatever he carried into the room with him, and proceeds to pick the bag up and dump it onto the bed, shaking the shit out of the bag until every last dollar falls out of it and onto the bad and says Here you go boys! Here's your 1 million dollars each you wanted! And the guys look on the bed and they see 1 million dollars each!- in Monopoly money! LMFAO! Weinstein then proceeds to tell the pair of future superstars that he will give them their 1million dollars each in cash only after signing their "New" contracts for starring in Weinstein's parent company MiraMax's next film they were going to have filmed which was and went on to become "Dogma". I love that whole story for some reason lol

  • I don’t think Robin was acting at all in this scene. This was pure suffering from a life spent alone. I mean just look at his suicide video. It wasn’t the Parkinson’s. That was just the final nail in his coffin. Takes a lot more to bring humans down to that level, but it doesn’t always take as long. Look at the kids in schools who kill themselves for being bullied and ignored, both at school and home. I will admit some of us are stronger, more resilient, but not all of us can stand on hot coals that long. Some people can take 5 shots that would kill someone else. Some people live after losing their legs to a shark, but very few people can pull themselves out of the kind of misery and horror that comes with emotional pain/trauma. Comedians are good at their job not because they’re funny, but because they’re used to no one listening to them seriously. I wish someone had been there for him that understood that. I hate how cruel humanity is. Always under the guise of virtue or even worse “not my problem.”

    • @@chriswilcox3383 Trying to lighten the burden on soldiers a little bit is not about politics. All kinds of performers do it, from every sane and nutty and a-political persuasion you can think of. Sometimes it's about compassion, sometimes it's patriotic, sometimes it's for cynical P.R. But you can't say this man did that for "politics".

    • I can't tell which scene I love more. This one or the one where he talks about meeting his wife +description of the baseball game that he missed. I think the latter bc he shows a lot of range in that one. Excitement, comedic timing, emotion, everything. The bench scene is amazing but it's him being just one-maybe two notes of somber and genuine concern.
