Video shows Virginia carjacker slam vehicle into gas pump

Charges are pending against a man accused of carjacking a young woman and then slamming the car into a gas pump in Fairfax County.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfax County Police say they received a call about a larceny suspect at Tysons Corner Center. Officers in the parking garage of the mall spotted a man running out of the building and began to approach.
Before they could get near him, they say he tried to carjack a young woman who was driving in the garage.
Police say the man pulled open the door of the moving vehicle, and at first, was dragged by the driver. But then, the driver put the car in park and jumped out, as the suspect jumped in and took off.
Police chased after the suspect, who they say drove out of the garage and pulled onto Leesburg Pike/Rt 7.
After a very brief pursuit, surveillance footage obtained exclusively by WUSA9 shows the suspected thief pull into the parking lot of a Shell gas station in the 8100 block of Leesburg Pike, and slam into a gas pump.

    • innocent until proven guilty in a court of law is quite literally the law of the land and means that even if someone clearly did it, they are presumed innocent, y'know, because we have some degree of human rights and need an adversarial justice system where you have to actually at least pretend to demonstrate the irrefutable guilt of someone. of course the prosecution often... doesn't, and innocent people go down to get some lawyer a promotion, but the presumption of innocence is critical to at least /trying/ to prevent that.

  • FEIGNED HURT FEELINGS: I was at Walmart trying on shoes and took off my jacket to bend over and tie the shoes. I rested my jacket directly behind me on the little bench i was sitting on.
