  • For Tiberium War, the initial release of the game the cranes could build base defenses, a balance patch took that away and a campaign mission where you started with only a crane became more difficult.

    • In sense of the vehicle folding together, yes. But what we see ingame is always just a translation. The reason why bases in C&C can build this fast is do to gameplay and i think they delibaretly never specifyed how fast the actual build time is. I mean, how long does it take to train a Infantry Squad in C&C 3? Also, C&C3 plays in the year 2047. We can 3D print alot today, even buildings. That a Military is useing Nanon Assemblers for there forward bases in the next 3 decades, doesn´t sound unrealistic at all, anymore.

  • When playing C&C 3 I actually rarely build the mini MCV's. I usually just build a crane about as far away from my refinary as I can since it allows buildings to be build around it and then I move my MCV to the other place I want to build. A crane and base expansion vehicle have the same cost but a crane has other uses too. The larger construction range of the MCV also allows it to do the job of 2 mobile units at times.

    @MrMarinus18@MrMarinus18Ай бұрын
  • 7:33 It's likely that the Renegade Construction Yard was a refined or improved version due to the rapid advancement of technologies and lessons learned as the war continued, since it was more heavily automated (as with most Renegade buildings), and it was likely the base for the Tiberian Sun Construction Yard. It's also likely that all the materials which should have been inside the Nod Construction Yard had been used to reinforce the base, since Nod knew GDI was coming, and that personnel had been evacuated/moved elsewhere. 9:31 The Forgotten at this time seemed to be desperate to grab anything and everything: From then-modern military hardware of both GDI and Nod manufacture, to older weapons and small arms (such as the first generation Nod Flame Tank), to improvised weapons (such as what were basically technicals in the form of armed pickup trucks). By the time of Firestorm and with their alliance with GDI more solidified, they seemed to be more militarized with GDI equipment, forgoing Nod's stuff and the improvised weapons/tools.

    @Mastervitro@MastervitroАй бұрын
    • It was in-line with a certain design philosophy. The devs wanted an RTS you can just pickup and play without having to do busywork-this is why the CnC games only have 1 resource besides providing your base power (which is still inherently liked to income.). They didn't want complicate the gameplay too much by implementing things like supply and logistical lines but instead imply they are there via story. Just because something would be interesting to implement doesn't mean it's going to be fun.

      @dracmeister@dracmeisterАй бұрын
    • C&C always designed to be fast paced combat heavy skirmish though, not resource management. Besides, lore wise, everything is assembled and transported underground. All the workers and engineers are underground. That's why the "build range" or ground control is core mechanic. And if you look at the animations, all buildings pop up from ground while all the ConYard / Cranes crane will deposit the materials underground when you build something instead of extracting it out.

I like the Scrin (the Nod "space ship alluded to a coming alien threat in Tib Sun), I like that things are building up to it, I just don't like how the executed the story of C&C 3. The Forgotten were... Forgotten, prominent characters killed off screen or retired. The change of the world's Tiberium flora and fauna that was so compelling in Tib Sun. I do think the oldest Redzones could still develop to the point of the pure massive crystals we seen in Tib 3, just I wanted everything from before to also carry over. I think I'd start the game with Anton Slavic still being alive, not killed off screen, and I'd keep the SG1 style storytelling and CGI we got from Tiberian Sun. The Kodiak and Montauk still being used (maybe even as proper MCV vehicles) and I think I'd have the destruction of the Philadelphia actually happen as the mid point of the games story, a turning point so to speak of things ramping up.

  • 15:50 wrong. While mobile it's most vulnerable The SCV does take reduced damage the second the animation starts. It basically already counts as deployed. This pack/unpack can also prevent capture......

  • God I wish they finished the Tiberium Wars arc. They'd just set up a big Kane (And Nod) vs Scrin vs GDI plot and then...Nothing. I really wanted to see an installment where the Scrin were absolutely demolishing the GDI, Nod was nowhere to be found, then at the last moment Kane returned with a fully unlocked, stabilised, Tacitus full of designs and plans for new tech that we use to roll up the Scrin Military...Only for it to turn out the reason the Scrin Military had come through was Kane had destroyed the rest of their civilisation. Turning it into GDI + Scrin vs Kane.

  • A small observation, in version 1.0 of Tiberium Wars, Cranes could construct defensive buildings, allowing a faster building of base defenses. This was kind of unbalanced, so they changed it.

  • I know that CnC4 not existing is a running meme/joke, but the Crawler system is actually brilliant, Shame the concept was introduced in an otherwise basically lacking in everything project. If they ever remake CnC4 into something actually playable with actual Tiberium fields and base building, I'd still want the Crawler system implemented.

  • I guess technically the events of Tiberian Dawn are more expansive than WW3 and Yuri's attempt at world domination in RA2. If anything I'd say that it was still an extensive use. I don't think the MCV in Renegade is different from the original ones. I think it's supposed to be a more realistic take on the buildings. If anything, the buildings shown in renegade are supposed to be more accurate representations of buildings from the rts. The battlebase can also attack infantry. It isn't specialized to but it can. The way described implies it can't at all Simi-related. I know RA1 is supposed to be a prequel, but it's also possible that Einsteins tampering is also what led to Tiberian and Kane arriving on earth. Breaking the time barrier and causing a temporal boom to propagate out and affect different points of history. Not just removing Hitler but causing Kane to arrive on earth in the distant past and causing the Tiberian asteroid to be sent to earth instead of whatever other random target it was sent to.
