  • Fantastic video! Of the ~20 comparison videos I watched, the iPhone looked the best in this one. On a 4k monitor I could see a difference (iPhone little too crunchy) but it was sooooo minor. A other people said in the comments, nice to see someone who knows how to take great pictures. I think what helped a ton was that the model's hair was pulled back like that. Loose/fray hair is what usually spoils the portrait mode look in my pictures.

    • Well let's discuss that 1 . Distance 2 . Sensor size 3 . Detail 4 . Light A mobile phone sensor is not compatible to a mirrorless camera So where I concur : 1 . Yes the camera is one part , the one behind or in front of the camera operating the camera is another part 2 . I would primarily want the best camera equipment on an open financial budget that is a portable setup Meaning the best mirrorless and lense accessories 3 . Mobile phone cameras without sufficient reasonable camera or lense zoom capability within reasonable high quality exposures , Is a major problem Here's where the S22 Ultra with a 10x optical may Excell The pictures in this video are case in point , The iPhone 14 Pro is utilized close to a human face And it is only tested on a human face at close range A great video comparison yes But only within intended confine . I do like that you rightly say The person utilizing camera equipment is one part of the end result JAH BLESS ...

The edge detection has gotten better on the 14 Pro which is why these are starting to look comparable. Btw great photos! • Really solid video and really good work on using the photos taken on the iPhone to frame up the shot for the A7III. It is amazing to see mobile photography come as far as it has done but there are some points I will address. Firstly, DSLR's and Mirrorless cameras have the real and natural Shallow Depth of Field, on the iPhone and other phones the blur is digital and is added in via software not hardware. This might not seem like a big deal but the quality of the blur will always be better on a stand alone camera compared to a phone. Secondly, the Sony can take a much higher resolution shot, therefor you can mess around with the image far more in post unlike the phone where you can only tweak the image a little before you start to see areas where then phone is lacking in quality or depth. Thirdly, the Sony is not limited in it focal lengths, as long as you have the multiple lenses you can change between them, giving you almost unlimited flexibility, with the phones, you are locked in to the cameras that are on the phone. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I adore it. However I have recently purchased the Sony A7IV and despite being able to get similar shots out of both devices my Sony just crushes my phones ability to take a photo when you really focus on all areas of a photo

  • Great videos as always. Hope to see more vs videos with the iPhone 14 pro. My only complaints with iPhone is that they need to update portrait mode. More often than not i saw that portrait mode could not deal with the strains of hair on the neck and baby hairs on the face. At one point 1:09 on the models face, the texture looks like film grain. However, the images are getting better and better.

    • If you compare real photos (instead of compressed YT video) on high resolution monitor (minimum 1440p) with reference sRGB gamut coverage then you will see a clear difference on every photo. If you however want to see more noticeable difference even on small phone screen, then you need to take indoor photos, and especially in low light. Also photos taken at bright sunny day will look way different, because phone lenses cant block excessive amount of light nearly as well, so contrast and colors will look washed out. My sister has iphone 14 pro, and it can take somewhat acceptable photos during a cloudy weather, or near golden hour during a sunny day. I would however never want to use phone camera in my professional work, because you cant accomplish the same thing.
