The incentive to go different builds to explore your options should’ve been enough (obviously its not due to meta-followers) But the idea to add post-wipe marks due to different builds is a cool idea to really push experimentation and different builds.

concept: winged vision: requierments: either aerogliding and 75 gale, or tiran and 35 agility. (I got inspiration from watching birds cuh.) when on a glider, you get a vision of airdrafts, helping you either making you get sent up, or forward at higher speeds. in spots without airdrafts, you will glide normally.

game doesnt feel like a roguelite because it doesnt incentivize doing new things you just try to keep your current slot alive. they also made randomness not a thing so it feels even less like a roguelite. im not even gonna talk about how dogshit the freshie experience of dying to something spending half an hour getting back to it then dying again is. they need to do some drastic stuff if they want the game to be viewed in a way they want lmao.

Totally agree, deepwoken barely has any randomness which is why progression gets so tedious. A good roguelike/roguelite is meant to last forever, no matter how many runs you do, it should feel different (to a certain extend) every time. In it's current state deepwoken feels more like an rpg than a roguelite

Honestly, the fact that people can pvp you feels so, dumb for a roguelike Like, I get thats the intent and it works. okish in khei [other than alts and ultra killing] but, its not used well? if I die 1000 times as a newbie to a person who's good I'll A. stop caring about wiping or B. just leave. if you could gank in the overworld to turn in kills and enchants [3 kills for a life, 10 enchants for a life] for a life or some legendary reward it could work, but the fact the depths just, wipe you means pve players care even less about lives than pvp players since they just wipe from 1 mistake and thats fine for new players learning [sorta] and fine for experienced players finding a new update, but for those who make a mistake and loose years of progress cuz they forgot to parry the funny sharko kick and get knocked into the void or something along those lines? Adding onto that randomness fucking SUCKS for pvp, like, sure add a super legendary enchant so people want to care more, oh wait? black market? people complaining about balance? game just sucking for those who don't have it? Theres a reason everyone prefered verse 2 progression to verse 1 and its a shame. I honestly want randomness to be a part of deepwoken so its genuinely fun but it can't be without ruining the game

It's honestly a good idea but we already have something like this, legendary weapons, and to be specific the element exclusive ones like crypt blade for shadow and curved for gale, and the rest, people only need to work hard to get one of those and then they will always have an element exclusive slot, they will always pass down that legendary and keep it soulbounded

That's not diverse what so ever though? they just keep going the same build till end of time. And legendary weapons are far more different then things that actually effects progression. The mark idea encourages different play styles and builds. Exclusive elemental Legendary weapons encourages you to make the same build with very slight changes each time you wipe, and those changes won't make for a different play style. Legendary weapons are things players have to grind/find. They also are locked to a specific weapon type. Mark's is something you start off with and is much more of a inclusive system which means everyone can enjoy it. You're not locked to being a heavy user, and it can help players experiment with what play styles they like. Legendary weapons are things players want to keep on their slot at all times. Marks allow you to wipe feeling satisfied after making a build and getting the reward. Meaning you can actually change up what build you go cause It's more friendly and there's more of a merit to it than sticking to the same element and weapon type. It's also something different to do each life with stuff to be cautious about depending on your mark.

This sounds really cool on paper but the issue is that it is a progression buffer. If someone wants to make a really funny trackstar meme build with nimble, now they have to make an entire throwaway build before they can do that. And what if they want to use nimble to make a non light/jetstriker build? What if they want to take nimble on a tank build? Well now if they wipe, they have to make ANOTHER throwaway build just to get nimble again. You might say that marks should be build restricted, but I feel that just limits creativity and build variety. Personally I just don't think these would be good for the game if they were only obtainable after wiping- though I would like to see a mechanic like this in some capacity, just obtained in a different way.

Birbingish i got a idea for a oath: Saint of blades. You need max lvl and 100 on any wep then you go to maestro and say:"i want to learn the steps to become a master" after that he will challenge you in a 1v1 in monkeys paw (10k hp) and after you defeat him you go back to vigils and tell him:"I've proven myself." and then boom the oath. To progress it you gotta kill all bosses in game (no l2) and there are the mantras and oaths: Mantra no. 1 maestros slashes. You slahs forward and if it hits you swing once dealing 45dmg Mantra no. 2 maestros eye:you change your old eye in a pink one which gives more defense and better parry window. COOLDOWN:70 seconds mantra no. 3: the final fight. You hit with your weapon and if it hits it will automatically remove your posture and do 65dmg. COOLDOWN:90 seconds. TALENTS: eye of perfection(unlocked with doing primadon while also unlocking maestros slashes) your eye isnt like normal. It prevents you from being blinded and lets you deal criticals with a 10% chance of landing. TALENT NO. 2 maestros swords (unlocked with duke aswell as unlocking maestros eye) landing a mantra or m1 will give you sword stacks, when at 6 stackd unleash a powerfull wind-up like attack but a bit weaker. TALENT NO. 3 disposure (unlocked with ferryman also unlocking final fight) when you land final fight you deal 20% more dmg for 5 seconds (30 SECOND CD) and thats my idea of a bew oath

i think echos should be used more buy being able to buy temporary buffs for builds. for example, you can spend like 100 echos for an extra 5-10% dvm. once you wipe, its gone and youd be able to buy it again.

@@siduxjxhdgzhdjxhxuuxxyhgg1079 it was just an example, it doesnt have to be exactly dvm. having some small buff for the cost of echos for that wipe will give an actual use for the echos and a reason to farm echos after maxing your modifiers. like increasing xp gain, resonance xp gain, high legendary resonance chances, etc on top of the modifiers. echos rn are almost useless after maxing your modifiers while it was said by arch to be another form of endgame content.

They actually took the echos modifier system from hades lmao... But hades is ONLY a rogue lite deepwoken however is a pvp and pve game making echo modifiers although fun for the challenge is only fun if you are there to play deepwoken for just deepwoken. you cant use the character for anything else but pve. like I dont see people using destined and one bit in ganks(For obvious reasons). also for a rogue lite the game isnt really dynamic or fast paced which often makes it feel really boring and boosting the progression only makes it feel like your bandaid fixing it.

But hades is ONLY a rogue lite deepwoken however is a pvp and pve game making echo modifiers although fun for the challenge is only fun if you are there to play deepwoken for just deepwoken. you cant use the character for anything else but pve. like I dont see people using destined and one bit in ganks(For obvious reasons). also for a rogue lite the game isnt really dynamic or fast paced which often makes it feel really boring and boosting the progression only makes it feel like your bandaid fixing it.
the only feature that resembles a roguelite is the card system but even that is irrelevant because of how infelxible builds are and because you can just get whatever you want. no randomness and no variety for builds. game is straight up not a roguelite lmao.
