It rapidly intensified, tearing up grass and dirt as it traveled over mainly open fields. The tornado followed the contour of the land up and over the Laramie mountain range for over 45 minutes before dissipating. It was rated an EF-3 by the National Weather Service.

  • I love how many of these super photogenic tornadoes have such a relatively small radius of impact. The fact that you can park just outside this little cell and experience such peace and quiet while simultaneously looking at complete chaos at the foot of that tornado as it moves. Incredible feat of nature.

Worst one was 2000 or 2001, was driving to get back home and sirens started; looked up and there is that greenish and purplish color. I was 3miles away if not closer when I saw the tornado. Still clear as day in my mind. Never want to be that close again.

    • @@Godofpillows no. Thats a actual tornado not a dust devil haha. It just happens that 99% of what its picking up is farmland dirt.

    • Me too, and I live in tornado central in Florida. Had one nearly hit my house a couple years back, and I was home alone with my 5 month old. Let me tell you, I have never been shaken to the core like that before that day
