God is the exactly definition of a 5th dimensional extraterrestrial. Now we have 2 options. It happened to me in my meditation last summer... practicaly after Kundalini raising I felt out of my body, it was like being in another dimension and I was just a consciousness, I knew that 'I am' but couldnt let enter any thought in my head...I was just I AM, pure consciousness! Its hard to understand what Eckhart tells if you dont experience that. I was blessed to experience that and its so huge, so amazingly big that its impossible to explain with words.

@@ItsMia916 it happened the same to me and then I tried like crazy to return there. Reading and listening to Master Eckhart I understood trying and desiring to get there again was another trick of the Ego. Now it happens more naturally.
I too experienced this...I left everything behind...my body my identity all of it and became everything and nothing at the same time...also time ceased to exist...it was completely black but I could see infinitely there was no end in sight...I too experienced I AM...ty for you 💚💚💚we are infinite and timeless...

I had the weirdest stream of thoughts before I went to sleep last night about this very topic of what is god. In those moments before I slept I felt the answer with the many examples that I was given. God is the pause before the pause. God is the opening of the flower. God is the moment before the inhale. God is the threshold of what was and what is to be. I felt it much better than I can explain it.

No need to call it "God" though. Why not call it what it is....psychology and nature.
That is the beauty of it all. Creating our own psycho-spiritual reality as no single entity has the monopoly of isness" or pure consciousness. Words are our feeble attempt to explain the unexplainable. Great sharing!

In fact, He always was in mankind, but again, due to the fall of Adam, mankind lost its memory. Christ is inside of us, whether people believe this eternal truth or not. God is evil. Look at the world. Wars, murderers, cancer, etc... Only ppl that have it good can say otherwise. Earth is a playground for a God to enjoy in our suffering. So in any murderer there is God inside?

The founder of God thought of everything! Unfortunately, I did not go to this school that hat textbooks on the abilities of God. Hopefully no god was autopsied to gain these insights. I will not hope that anyone made it all up and that that only exists in the heads of believers. But there must exist a lot of these books. Zach Braff said: "There are almost 5000 gods being worshipped by humanity. But don't worry ... only yours is right."

Eckhart is a very advanced spirit. 9.53:I would love a discussion between Eckhart and Bernardo Kastrup (A Dutch Scientist -Philosopher who's work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental. )
There should be an 'I am' conference annually where the gathers up and Eckhart would open it with one of his lovely jokes.
Eckhart is the spiritual equivalent of the Pied Piper of Awakening to the True Self and Consciousness of the All and Everything. I just wish more people would listen and follow; especially the ( so called) World Leaders and all the Politicians, then we might stand a chance if True Peace.

This wonderful lecture about god and consciousness also reminds me of the philosophy of Spinoza. He described the grades of understanding as imaginatio - ratio - intuitio, with the last one as the highest.
I love your teachings, but as a science teacher I'd like to point out that not everything falls under the umbrella of science. You can accept consciousness for what it is without trying to describe it in scientific terms. We have a problem with science deniers in this world and it's caused a lot of harm. Please respect scientific knowledge as I respect the benefits of mindfulness and consciousness. Peace and love to you.

I love it when Eckhart talks about God: "I have been asked many times, 'Why do you use that old word, God?' Because it is the best word for our purpose; you cannot find a better word than that because all the hopes, aspirations and happiness of humanity have been centered in that word. It is impossible now to change the word. Words like these were first coined by great saints who realized their import and understood their meaning. But as they become current in society, ignorant people take these words, and the result is that they lose their spirit and glory. The word God has been used from time immemorial, and the idea if this cosmic intelligence, and all that is great and holy, is associated with it. Do you mean to say that because some fool says it is not all right, we should throw it away? Another man may come and say, 'Take my word,' and another again, 'Take my word.' So there will be no end to foolish words. Use the old word, only use it in the true spirit, cleanse it of superstition, and realize fully what this great ancient word means. If you understand the laws of association you will know that these words are associated with innumerable majestic and powerful ideas; they have been used and worshipped by millions of human souls and associated by them with all that is highest and best, all that is rational, all that is lovable, and all that is great and grand in human nature. Krishna describes being overwhelmed unto destruction by the face of God, with all those zillions of eyes and noses. Unforgettable -it rocks! One love among us.

For Eckhart: Why are the other life forms on earth rarely mentioned in these very human POV teachings? If you have ever had pets that you loved, you probably care about what happens to them like you would family members. They play a role on Earth and are worthy of our respect and compassion.
Animals problems aren't self created. They to a great extent never really lost what humans did to find it again. Also animals don't watch KZhead.
" Animals Are Soul Too" by Harold Klemp addresses this issue, mainly through stories in this book.
In this talk Eckhart mentioned other life forms and their role. The universal conciousness evolves from minerals to plants to animals to human beings and from there to etheral beings. Respect for every life form and the whole creation is essential.

I believe that God is a personal God, therefore “Who is God” would be more appropriate vs “What is God?” I always love hearing Ekhart’s perspective and I love his sense of humor and his peaceful way of speaking.

Yes, a state of "Zen" ( the only word I think I can use because I 'think" I understand what Zen means) comes to my mind. I've had two experiences of this - one when I was 17 and one about the age of 25................brilliant and all encompassing...but now that I've worked and fought my way through life, my senior years have become a curiosity to me

No, Zen is a spiritual practice that does not believe in instruction and in that sense is very shallow..................falundafa.
With the awaking comes the recognition of patterns in your life that congeal into a path that is discernible. The more aware you become of life as a stage, a sort of play, the clearer the acts and actors become that are there to facilitate your work.
