Jesus the Royal Priest
After humanity’s failure as the royal priests of Eden, God promises that one of their descendants will intervene on their behalf to restore the blessings of Eden. Throughout Israel’s story, God raises up leaders to be this royal priest, but they all fall short. But their stories point forward to the ultimate royal priest, Jesus. In this video, we’ll explore how Jesus is the ultimate king and priest who invites humans back into Eden so that we can once again take up our calling as God’s royal priests.

This channel has helped lessen my loneliness. As someone who spends a lot of time in University and other secular dominated places I was beginning to feel isolated. My faith is the most important thing to me but sometimes it felt like I was alone in that faith. Seeing that so many other people believe in a deep and meaningful way makes me feel connected and no longer alone. Thank you.

She didn’t “pass away”, she passed INTO Heaven (Eternity). Have confidence, and take heart, for God’s promises always hold true. For Christians, we don’t believe in “death”, we believe in Life. We reject the very inheritance of death from Adam and Eve when they ate the Evil/Death fruit, and accept the Fruit of the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ. In Him we have Eternal Life. Praise God, your wife is in Heaven. Amen. In fact you should rejoice, as for yourself, you’re still stuck in this fallen world. I’d much rather be in Heaven myself, but I still hav eyes to do the Lord’s work here on Earth.

I AM has been grossly misunderstood/misused. In the story (imo a myth) of the Exodus, “God” in the burning bush said: “I am that I am.” & originally I doubt that it was in caps lol, like it is in modern translations. We’ve made that verse sound like “God” lost temper for a min with the caps. We also come across a curious “I am” in John 5:8 with the character Jesus saying, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I am.” Also in a curious way with Jesus supposedly talking with more haughty arrogance than usual where he says, “I am the way the truth & the life, no one comes to the father, but by me.” There are more. So, what does “I am” mean? 🙏 I Am & “Christ” (crist center of head, Christos fluid, pituitary/pineal/minds eye)” is a misunderstanding/misinterpretation of the meaning/words & mythological depiction of Consciousness/Presence. Higher Consciousness is the Way the Truth & the Life. 💜 I mean who is “God?” It quite depends on our definition. If we say “God” is all things then we’re talking also hate, rape, evil, etc. But if we’re talking about a Good/Holy God where scripture quite defines God as Love in 1 John 4:7-21, then we are taking about the Omega. About Higher Consciousness. Are you tracking? This is where images of “God” as a human can serve or be dangerous. Bc “God” is just higher intelligence/Energy. All Quantum & all Biology. It is all things. So we really need to define everything we’re saying so nothing is misconstrued. Btw “Blood” has also been misunderstood, Lol verses of drinking Jesus’ blood should have been the 🚩s on that. Some Verses/Teachings on Light: “God” turns darkness into Light.” Yep, it/we sure can. “Your Word (High vibration/Sound) is a lamp to our feet, a light to our path.” 🧘♂️. The mark on the head means you would believe a law / agenda that directly goes against God and the mark on the right hand means you may not believe in that law but you would follow the rules that still go against God. Try to read the bible with literary devices in mind. Remember Jesus also told stories in form of parables. A lot of the bible is not literal. Why would God tell us where the mark of the beast will be given?? They could easily change the location of the mark to the left foot or you butt. The mark wasn't only mentioned in revelation In Deuteronomy 6:8 God tells Israel that his laws are written on the hearts and they should bind his laws on their hands and forehead. Doesn't that sound familiar?? That's exactly what I mean. This means what they believed (heads) and what they did (hand) both needed to be completely formed by the law of God. I hope you got some understanding from what I said I hope you read everything. People are out there waiting for some kind of tattoo or chip meanwhile the mark is of our belief and of our works.

Wonderfully done! There's another bit that foreshadowed how Jesus is meant to be the royal priest that I really liked. It's done with the gifts of the three wise men. The first offers gold, representing Jesus' status as king, The last offers myrrh, showing that Jesus was meant to be the Living Sacrifice. The 2nd king, offers frankincense, representing Jesus's role as a priest forever.

Jesus’ baptism is rich with imagery from the Hebrew Bible and connects him to the royal priesthood. Just as the Aaronic priesthood had been consecrated or set apart through water (Leviticus 8:6) and anointing oil (Leviticus 8:30), Jesus is also partaking in this ancient ritual through his baptism. Jesus is anointed with water and Spirit in his consecration-his setting apart for his role as a priest (Isaiah 61:1). And as the Spirit comes upon him, Jesus is revealed to be the anointed one of God (i.e. the royal son of David, Psalm 2:7) who is going to ascend Mount Zion (Moriah) (i.e. the seed of Abraham, Genesis 22) to surrender his life as a sacrifice for the sins of his people (i.e. the servant of Isaiah 42). Jesus is commissioned as royal priest, and after this revealing moment, he begins to fulfill his role as priest for his people. A key example of this is in Mark 2:5-12 when a group of men lower their paralyzed friend through the roof of a house to get him to Jesus. Jesus forgives the man’s sins, echoing the pronouncement made by the priests in the Jerusalem temple (e.g. Leviticus 4:20, 26, 31, 35; 5:13, 16, 18, 26). Jesus’ pronouncement makes clear that he is different from any other priest Israel has seen. Jesus is offering divine forgiveness by his own authority. Jesus refers to himself as the Son of Man who has earthly authority to offer divine forgiveness. His words are poignant, combining the royal and priestly motifs already present in the son of man figure from Daniel 7 and attributing to himself the divine authority to dispense God’s forgiveness. Priests operated by delegated authority from God, but Jesus operated by his own authority. The Holy Ghost pours out his Spirit and brings the increase in the name of Jesus. The latter rain proceeds the second coming and it is what waters the seed. Without the Spirit of God no one is saved. Believe in your idea of Jesus till the end of time, it does little good. You need to accept his ambassador and representative. So when the Holy Spirit shows himself and is rejected that is the unpardonable sin. To grieve the Spirit of God is to reject life. The beloved witness of Jesus Christ (King David) is reporting for duty. He was a man whose tongue held no lies, For he was the direct descendant of our father in the heavenly skies. Born to a body of fleshy sin, Though what laid beneath was unlike the rest of his kin. Jesus had the utmost grace, Never being wavered by evils face. A beacon of light on top of a starless mountain, Where words of wisdom poured out of him as if there ran a cosmic fountain. His eyes pierced through you with a single glance, Leaving even the most hardened individuals in quite the trance. The Holy Spirit so ever majestically flowed inside this man, Naturally people caught notice and became a fan. Students began showing up from every mold, When they heard his words their hearts were sold. Wicked men put a price on Jesus's head, He was wanted alive or dead. Despite this he and his disciples continued their teachings, Where on occasion they endured terrible beatings. One of the twelve apostles turned to black, No longer having Jesus's back. Judas Iscariot had done Satan's bidding, And it is in hell where he now is sitting. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our shortcoming, However don't be saddened for if you believe in him you will see him at your homecoming. There he sits at the right hand of God's throne, Being the voice of truth and love that we all have known. Satan's tongue is coated in a layer of deceit, And he tramples over promises with his feet. He's a being who is bound by deceptions, Whose very essence oozes with misconceptions. He struggles to look you in your eyes, For his gaze holds nothing but lies. On occasion he will give you his hand, But don't be fooled by his stand. He seeks to corrupt your heart, You would be wise to avoid him from the start. Seeking quick pleasures and casting aside love, He traverses this land with push and shove. Now Lucifer was once not lost, But pride blinded him at a cost. Disobeying God he waged war, Becoming detestable to the core. Today he is the ruler of Earth, Though for all his power he has no real worth. However most of us have still been sold, Giving into sin and becoming cold. Nearly everyone is a puppet dancing on strings, Marching to delusion for their unjust kings. My people have given into lust, Becoming robots full of rust. However you my child are the exception, So when you meet me don't forget to mention. That you alone have been granted the key, And before your glory they shall all bend a knee.
Why do you guys not make it clear that Jesus, the Son of God, bore the wrath that we deserve when He sacrificed Himself on the cross? That His dying on the cross, His sacrifice, is how our sins are paid for, how we are reconciled to God and are forgiven? Maybe you don’t intend to speak lightly on this but I must say it is not clear in your videos, which is so sad because we must believe in this to be saved, who Jesus is (the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity) and what He did (paid for our sins on the cross and took the punishment we deserved). If I have misunderstood your intention, please let me know. I just think the atonement isn’t made clear in this. I hope you guys will consider what I’ve said.
@@Vashthestampedeo I am a bit confused: what do you mean by " continue to believe in your kind of Jesus."? This is one video that explains the biblical theme of Jesus as the prophesied royal priest in the line of Abraham, Moses, David. At the end of the Video, it alludes to the flowing out of the Spirit. I am sure, in the next video, Tim and John will explain how the apostle set up the church through the Spirit as the temple where the followers of Christ serve as royal priests generation after generation by the power of the Spirit.

Are you concerned more that we don't appreciate enough what Jesus did for us, or that we humans fail to see how bad we are? May I be so bold, Madelyn, to point out that 'wrath of God' is a metaphor by the writer to point out to his readers of Scripture the severity in failing to keep the covenant. God is pure love, is not interested in punishing us, and Jesus' life revealed just how loving God is and how much we need to appreciate the presence of that love within us. Jesus did not 'pay off' God - God is not looking to be 'satisfied'. Jesus' death is asking you and me now to live as he lived....lay down our lives as he did where we see it called for. His great sacrifice of forgiveness and love is meant to reverberate down the centuries. Can you feel it? I don't think there is any need for Bible Project to attempt any further emphasis of condemnation.
Dear Tim and Jon, could I make an appeal?. I follow your stuff, and find it excellent. I am currently following the program to understand the Bible. But I think you are distorting the whole Adam/Eve story. As literature, it may be preceding the Abraham story, but it is not meant to be understood as preceding Abraham historically. I'm sure you know better than to keep using the Adam/Eve episode as the reason for what follows Gen.12. Eden is an ideal that the Hebrews would have come to appreciate, hundreds of years after Abraham and Moses came on the scene, as the ultimate way of being with God. There never was a paradise to which the Hebrews had to return to. So, Abraham, Moses and David are not taking up the baton that Adam/Eve failed to be faithful too. They instead had a gradual awareness of their instrumentality of God's grace and life to those around them. What you are failing to do is to show how the literature, that gives rise to the 'priestly' notion, has come about. Please take some time to review this aspect of your presentation. But I must say, you do a fantastic job.
